First of all, thanks so much Kristi for your channel. You have helped thousand of denture wearers including me. You are a blessing. October 17- I had all my lower teeth pulled. I am now wearing an immediate denture that cost me $800. I have plans of having denture implants middle of next year, depending on my financial situation. My oral surgeon did an excellent job and I did not have any pain. I healed up so fast, too. October 19 - visit to my dentist due to some sore spots that it was even hard to swallow. He filed off some corners. October 25 - I went to my dentist/prosthodontist because the denture was getting loose. At first he told me, there is nothing he could do until the sutures are gone and then I can put adhesive. After reading so many articles, and watching your channel I knew something had to be done, or that he should be able to do some adjustment to my dentures. I insisted that day that he does something because that afternoon I was going to do a training and I could not talk clearly as you can imagine. So he put some kind of tissue conditioner (soft liner) which helped a little bit. October 31 - visit to my Oral surgeon who said my gums are looking good, they removed the remaining sutures. I asked if i can start using adhesives, and i was told to used very minimal. November 16 - I went back to the dentist because my immediate denture is getting loose again. I was expecting him to make some adjustment. He filed off some spots again. He told me there is nothing else he can do. when I asked about putting another soft liner, he said it will not help. He emphasized about using a different kind of adhesive. I left the clinic so frustrated and feeling helpless. The person I was expecting to address my very concern did not want to give me the proper care. I am skinny and still losing weight for not being able to eat properly. I could not practice chewing because my teeth moves a lot when I start eating. I put adhesive in the morning before I go to work at 8am. By noontime, it is already loose. I had to put another strip after lunch, because it gets so loose that I am embarrass to talk to my colleagues. I do training twice a month, and I am not able to talk confidently anymore. At night, to be able to eat enough, I remove my teeth. This is so frustrating and depressing. Kristi, what would you advise for me to do. Does my dentist need to address my concern and make adjustment by doing RELINE (soft or hard) with my immediate dentures? Or should I practice chewing with a loose set of teeth? I do understand that my bones/gums still shrinking, but should not my dentist do something? Would you recommend that I go to another prostodontist? Thanks so much, I’d appreciate any advice or recommendation from you.
I have also had a horrible experience with sore spots, adhesive that leaves burn spots on my gums or that does not hold and a constant loosening denture that flops and the bottom floats. I’m sorry but I cannot live at the dentist office and I do have a life and a budget. I hate these things and wish to God I never had this done. I am now in severe depression according to my dr and I stopped going anywhere. Flopping chatter teeth or poisoned by adhesive which choice. They never ever disclose the honest prices of hard or soft relines if at all.
I've had my upper for about 3 months. My dentist never mentioned relining. They are very loose and have to use a lot of adhesive. I'm going to check into relining, thanks for your help.
I went to affordable dentures. They been putting soft refined in tjere since they were made. I skipped the 3rd reline I go baxk in Oct for my hard reline they fit good don't have to use any other stuff in there .
Can you please tell me how long after the initial extraction you should wait to do a soft reline!!! I am having a hard time getting use to this big change in my life. Thanks in advance!!
hiiiiiiiiiii i got dentures 4 years ago and the top denture covers my soft palette making me gag, i dont were them 4 that reson i only were for apperence , i dont eat with them so instead of chewing its more like mooshing making eating a gross effort, loosing weight, went to oral surgeon to see about implants they said they could do the bottom but my sinuses droped so now i have to get a sinus lift first, was about to give up and your channel popped up without even looking anything up on youtube about this, i feel jesus showed me your channel, ty for giving me incuragment to push foward even if you didnt mean to!!! Wow, totally different to my experience in Australia..I had no teeth for over a month, I wasn't offered a temporary denture, now I hardly wear the one I have (only when I venture outside) because it's impossible to eat in it, I had a really awful experience with the dentist I saw & even ended up recording my visits because I was getting treated like an imbicile..
I've seen a few of your videos now I went 6 months with out teeth so all healed up and got my dentures they are crooked and don't fit and loose as a goose my dentist said not everyone have the said on both sides 😒😢
Hello, I recently just got dentures and I have a couple questions on relines. 1. I'm using adhesive right now and it seems like the adhesive is working pretty good for me. I know you touched upon this a little in the video but what is the difference between a reline and adhesive? They both seem like they are the same. 2. Once you get a soft reline, can you still soak your dentures in denture cleaner?
You don't wear them at night? I thought once they were "installed" they only came out for cleaning. What does it feel like to sleep without them? What if you clench your jaw while sleeping? Doesn't it wake you when you grind or clean your jaw? I'm a severe tooth grinder at pm.
Are all these follow-up appointments included in the price of the dentures or are there constant additional fees for the rest of the denture's life? How long is the life of these dentures? Can we expect to have to replace the teeth? Do they "wear out"?
I had immediates put in and they were my perms which I didn’t know my EDay was aug 31st 22 it’s been a year so I went in today to a new dentist I’ve been seeing and they did a hard reline
It's been 5 days since I got my entire uppers extracted and I'm just wondering when I can start sounding normal lol this upper temporary denture got me feeling all kinds of social anxiety even more than when I had bad teeth in. Like I'd honestly rather deal with the physical pain than with the social anxiety of sounding and looking like a chipmunk
@acesmoka yea my speech improved in exactly 2 weeks! I was horrified leading up to the extraction but it's not bad at all, just annoying. So glad I got it over with. You'll feel the same way.
@@kalinjax lol! ...you should see how big my mug is! .. he he🐸💙💯 really enjoy all your vids... im getting the new digital procera by nobel made of zirconia with the newest nacera pearl monolithic! shade bl4. the doctor is also injecting stem cells into my gums to help strengthen my bones/gums. ...am so excited... i was told zirconia is very strong... my temp break in teeth will be nano ceramic and will wear them from 3 to 5 months... cant wait... chrisiden😁
Where are you located? I have implants on top and there is a gap between the gums and the denture. Movement when I bite down. I've had them over a year.
Hi…is it very bad decision if I decided to forego the Immediate Denture.’ After my (9) extractions (upper only) I decided to stay without teeth for a few months to really allow gums & bone to heal. Before impressions are taken for ‘Final Denture.’ Is that a bad decision and why?
Man thats crazy im 25 have upper and lower dentures from a car accident. Anyway after i pay for my dentures in full the guy tells me i have to pay an additional 650 every reline! Its been three years now and i never went back for any relines my teeth fit fine.
I've wearing full dentures for about 2 weeks and it's like over night the bottom plate hardly fits like it did at first. I had 7 teeth pulled on the bottom so I guess that must have something to do with it, and there's still bone fragment coming out of my gums.
I am STRUGGLING with the taste and smell after my dentist done first soft reline. It’s been a week and I can’t wear them. It makes me sick to my stomach and gives me a headache. I’m so unhappy right now. I’ve covered them in baking soda, alcohol free mouthwash. Washed with dawn and it’s still awful! My dentist was zero help. I’m posting this in several places on RU-vid In hopes that someone can help. I would love to use them but at this point I put them in to eat and then have to take them out.
I have done my own for years Denturite, I have done some repairs over 13 years. I am now looking to replace upper and lower which sit on 4 implants top and bottom.
One of the magic parts of video is you get to show what you are talking about. I got a picture of two 30-year-old women talking to each other. Do better.
