Discord widgets are a fancy way of adding your discord server to a website or blog. Discord widgets allow you to view voice channels, online members, and join the server all through a nice modern widget. Widgets are a better way of advertising your discord server on a website. Instead of having a boring link, you can have a nice interface which gives new users a preview of what your server has to offer.
Hopefully in the future, Discord can expand upon their widget functionality to include chat channels. I know there are third party options that allow people to interact with your server from the browser. If you want to see something like that, comment "show us the cool beans" and I'll have no idea what you are talking about.
Please excuse the poor audio quality in this video. My settings got messed up during an update and I had the mic a bit too loud, causing the clipping.
