So my dull pain on day 3 is nothing to worry about? It was a strenuous molar extraction. I know you may not be a dentist but I’m just throwing it out there
@@puffdaddy69I had a friend who got dry socket and he called 911 because he thought he was having a heart attack. Safe to say it’s extraordinarily painful
I’m experiencing dry socket right now, and let me tell you something, it a f****g nightmare 😢 why dentists never tell the patients this important information. I never knew that dry socket was a thing until I experienced it. Anyway I’m on day 9 and the pain is becoming bearable. I have no idea when the hole is going to fully heal but I feel like it is closing little by little, I wish I can tell the world about my horrible experience, to avoid being in the same situation. ps: my English is broken, but you get the message
How did it happen? How are you now? I'm getting scared because it feels like my hole is trying to throb. The pain is bearable I haven't eaten since my extraction which is was 48 hours ago
@@roldyseven3937 LISTEN you should not lose that blood clot BELIEVE ME, I wish I knew that before, if you have dry socket your hole will heal of course but slowly compared to like normal healing with severe pain that lasts for like 9 days. All what happened to me is because I had no clue what dry socket is at the time, the dentist removed my tooth (struggled because it kept breaking into pieces) then he was like we’re done, you’re good to go, don’t eat on that side. The pain was bearable. But after 5 days my nightmare started, i lost the blood clot (i was confused because again I had no clue until I googled it) it said the blood clot should NOT fall from the hole, i was hoping I would not have a dry socket but approximately 2-3 days after the loss of the blood clot, I started experiencing SEVERE pain, weird smell from the hole etc, that shit is depressing really I lost a lot of weight because of that, now after 10 days I’m feeling better every day, no pain & don’t need meds, the hole is still not fully healed and closed but at least there is no pain. I hope my story was helpful. I hope you won’t experience the same thing and everything is ok 👌🏻
@@roldyseven3937 48 hours without food is crazy, try soft food like soups, yogurt or ice cream, look on google what you can eat post tooth extraction, and don’t brush your teeth like I did.
Just got back from the emergency dentist after having a dry socket for over a week. The dentist was so lovely, numbed me up, re-cut the extraction site to cause it to bleed again, put clove oil inside the open wound (antibacterial and in hopes to kill of any surviving nerves) and my gosh the feeling of next to no pain is amazing. Still tender but dry socket has got to be the worse pain I’ve experienced so far
Non smoker, Ive had a dry socket for over a year after lower impacted wisdom tooth extraction. If I had known there was even a 1% chance of this happening I would have left the tooth in my jaw. I still have trouble sleeping from this. Just leave your wisdom teeth in, it’s not worth the risk.
The doctor can take a sample of your blood and run it through a centrifuge to form a blood clot then place that blood clot inside of the socket to o speed up recovery
It's the third day after getting my tooth pulled. I felt no pain or discomfort at first but now it's still doesn't hurt but I'm feeling some discomfort. It feels like the spot is starting to harden and feel sort of cold. I'm starting to get bad anxiety about it. I'm gonna try and take a nap hopefully I don't wake up in pain.
I had 4 teeth pulled in Australia 2 days ago. First time i had ever been to the dentist. And now i dont ever wanna go again.. 2023 and it feels so barbaric. I feel like i have been bashed by 20 dudes with baseball bats doesn't help that i have had a stomach problem my whole life and i smoke weed to help with pain and rn im so stressed about dry socket and im trying my hardest not to smoke. But my gut is really not giving a shit
I have a dry socket now for 3 days and have been smoking lol. Idc, it does hurt but I'm not crying. I see the dentist tomorrow, maybe he'll fill it I read.
Went to dentist last Friday. They were getting annoyed because it was late in the day and it took over half an hour jerking my head side to side to remove a back tooth. Been in agony all weekend and my mrs took a look. It looks like dry socket and mild infection and they have tore into my pallete from my gum inside. I can't take pain killers as I have a bowel problem. I hope to get to see them tomorrow. Absolutely suffering. I followed aftercare strictly as well. 😢😭
Just got done getting one of mine extracted. Mine said that she packed it extra well with membrane and bone. I guess it’s the quality of material, how much is used, and how well it was packed in there.
I am currently experiencing this and worse part is, I have a school project due tomorrow. Crazy and inconvenient. I can compare this pain to giving birth for sure 😢
My lower R was stitched up, and part of the inside of my gum cleaved off, Im guessing the stitches got infected and the skin eventually died off. Should I be concerned ? The L side is healing nicely.
@@timetraveler1973 well, it never grew back, so that part of my gum I guess didn't need to be there. Everything eventually healed well. Now that I have room, I have Invisalign to correct a bad bite.
@@cubby6708 I'd assume you have an overbite and as someone with a pretty nasty overbite (four front teeth overlap the bottom front teeth), how much was Invisalign to correct it?
@@epistarter1136worse, underbite. Choosing not to do surgery I removed my wisdom teeth and now use a series of elastics with Invisalign to slowly pull the bottom teeth back. 😩. With extractions and light dental work $5,000 in Tijuana
Just the opposite. I have and underbite. I removed the lower wisdoms and use invisalign with elastics to pull the teeth back. I wasnt about to get surgery. Hell nah @@epistarter1136
I'm on the day after wisdom tooth extraction. 29hrs later to be exact. I may not have read thru all the instructions carefully enough for post op care and missed the do not rinse with water memo. I did this after eating dinner approximately 5hrs later after the surgery. I felt fine until I woke up the next morning (today) the pain is unbearable and intense and throbbing. I then took otc meds and tried to eat. I did everything right. But I believe either putting in new gauze incorrectly (dry) hours after surgery, or rinsing with water after eating just hours after would have caused the blood clot to dislodge. I only started learning about dry socket after all of my mistakes. Is it possible to build up another blood clot and heal it on my own at home? I have also used the irrigation syringe to clean out food debris each time I ate after surgery only after the next day. (Today) but this may have also been a mistake since it hasn't been very long after the extraction which may also have dislodged bc. After cleaning it and rinsing with salt water is it possible to create another blood clot to form? The pain is so severe and throbbing which makes me think its dry socket but it's only been 29hrs so it may be too early to tell but idk how much longer I can deal with this pain. The normal ibuprofen and Tylenol are not cutting it! Please help.
Yes my dentist did not stress to me to not put in dry gauze hours after surgery. Im only on my second day recovery and I feel a cold sensation on my lower right wisdom tooth hole, and now bone is exposed😭
It’s been 8 days now and it looks like there a very small hole next to the scab I know it’s not a bubble or anything like that and I don’t feel any pain what can this mean
Just had my second wisdom tooth removed. I think I had dry socket the first time my tooth was removed. And BOY was in painful. So for this and the upcoming 2 more, I’ve been doing what I can to avoid dry socket.
