Well, unless I win the lottery, I will not have an A; there is way too much work, & I do not have the time or resources to care for a car that is designed to take me places with no issues. My MDX is mine for the rest of my life, another 5 to 10 years. ( at 49, CHF, 5 years to live,) today I am 62... still working, but tired most of the time, & now hurt in a lot of places. My younger sister had her hips replaced, & mine hurt, sometimes the pain wakes me up, knees are not much better. I also have lung issues, & allergies. I love your videos, but unless all I needed to do was take care of the car & the garden, the garden will win. Thank you for your wonderful videos :-)

Although not a standard routine lube practice, when you have the distributor out of the head put some anti seize compound inside the bore of the head where it makes contact with the distributor housing. Be careful not to get the anti seize on the underside of the distributor where it makes an electrical ground. A rusted in distributor is not a fun day on the side of the road when you want to swap in your extra spare one as traffic whizzes past. Good Video!

As I watch your video, I can see that today's cars are less maintenance, but, because of that, they will fail because of less maintenance. Makes me wonder, am I lazy? I'm working 50 plus hours a week at my job, & more at home... do I need to work 70 to 90 hours a week? I watched my time when my first wife was in the hospital - lost her to cancer - & for 9 months, I spent 80 to 90 hours a week with her in the hospital. Not much time for laundry... car stuff, not even on the radar... My Harley was my main ride then :-)

Need to add the transmission oil check to the rear axle check if you have driven a long enough distance and then drive through standing water with warm cases. The splashing cools the case out fast and creates a vacuum inside that will suck in water any way it can - vent or shafts.. Gear oil detergents can only suspend a limited amount of water. When that is saturated the oil will tend to foam.

Love the club environment for exchanging information. Our Studebaker Drivers Club chapter doesn't do this very well or at all. Never got back with me when we went on a fall color tour last year. They put out a outstanding monthly magazine, and the Early Ford V8 club also. Over the years we have made friends at every show or cruise in and makes for a good day talking and visiting other car enthusiast's. We wish you luck in the elections Brother. I'll be getting back on the air sometime next year at the new QTH. I might upgrade the license to get all bands. 73 Paul de N8IWS

Well, the good news more members, the bad news more competition to buy model A's, and more than likely prices will go up. Not likely I will ever own one but I enjoy seeing them repaired and still on the road. I remember many of the cars that were built in the 1930s. My older brother and his friend would buy these cars and then fix and resell them in the 60s when I was a kid. I was lucky to be able to ride in many different cars and trucks from this time period. Thanks for the video, Paul, and take care, Mike
