*My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

One can develop Type 1 diabetes at any age usually diagnosed at younger age. Type 1 does not happen due to eating sugar it happens because of pancreas not working. you should get her checked. frequent peeing is one of the signs for diabetes. good luck.

My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article ru-vid.comUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

I was diagnosed with diabetes in mount sinai nyc, the doctor prescribed insulin to me 😅 I went to Sungapore for vacation with family and got a second opinion. The doctor confirmed the diagnosis but disagreed with treatment. He told me i should change my lifestyle: 1) intermittent fasting for 16 hours, 2) no sugar, fruits, bread, rice, (or any carbohydrates that will be converted into glucose in blood stream). 3) eat vegetables (limited starch ones like potatoes, yams, etc) 4) drink more waters 5) no dairy products 6) can drink coffee and tea 7) no alcohol (I don’t drink it anyway) 8) my wife does warm drinks like ginger, mint, black pepper with turmeric, etc 9) workout daily (one hour only). My main issue was insulin resistance, and within 3 months, my glucose level went close to normal; and after 6 months later A1c test show normal. Therefore, no insulin is needed 💪🏻 not to mention i lost weight too 😂

As a 20 year old type 1 diabetic. Blood sugars 77 to 140 are perfectly healthy. Fasting blood sugars should be below 130 and after two hours blood sugars should be below 140. You’re never going to have a blood sugar that constantly stays in the 90s. It’s just not possible

chris rambo you should check out Dr Jason Fung on RU-vid, or read his book “The Diabetic Code” how to prevent or reverse diabetes’s... you should make a point to do this now before you get into trouble and wind up with high medical bills because you discover your blood sugar is way out of control and wind up in the ER. 3 hours there with an IV and it cost me almost $4,000 bucks. Test often and regulate your diet as needed. And read the book. It’s available at your friendly neighborhood library.

95 - this is arbitrary and a ballpark. 70-110 is still the universal accepted normo-glycemia in fasted state, because there is a degree of biological variation and fluctuation. It's important to remember that Blood glucose measurement using modern Enzymatic methods and more historic chemical methods in whole blood, serum, and plasma, can gave differences in values of 2 to 20%, depending on method used, time of collection, whether venous, arterial, capillary, and different reagents used - that means a 95 glucose could be somewhere between a 76 and 114 mg/dl, range. (plumb in the middle of the normal distribution curve, by the way). Also, this actually falls in to the acceptable error range bounds for some National standards for Glucometers, and in laboratory jargon, it is close to the "reference change value" - The minimum change required to conclude that two serial measurements are likely different due to the combined effects of analytic and biological variation. The RCV for Glucose is about 15%, that means if you have a 95 mg/dl glucose, you would need to show a value below 80 mg/dl, or above 108 mg/dl, to show that it was a true change of statistical significance! The Folin Wu method of the 1920s, would give 80-120 mg/dl as the fasted normal sugars reference range, but this also contained about 15-20% reducing sugars other than glucose, so that the true glucose numbers would be about 60 to 100 mg/dl in the whole blood, but 70 to 110 in plasma and serum values, as the plasma and serum carry a higher concentration than whole blood. Plasma actually tends to have slightly higher glucose values than serum samples, by a couple percentage, if the serum is not collected quickly. Perhaps a 95 Serum in this laboratory is about a 99 Plasma equivalency, that is only conjecture but possible. The main point, is that, just like cholesterol, and other labs, and even vital signs like pulse and blood pressure - these values change throughout the day, in a circadian rhythm, or if foods are ingested and other metabolic activities. Consistent numbers of say, 105 or 115 mg/dl, instead of your usual 95 mg/dl, now that would be call for some concern if one carries risk factors of diabetes, and a call to your doctor is warranted. A 95 , however, would be piss average in the prior century and any society that eats more than a few handfuls of carbohydrates in a day - and I don't know of a single culture that attained civilization, and society, which was entirely carnivore and zero carb - (can't think of any off hand anyways) the brain and body needs a certain amount of sugars, for cognitive and motor function.
@mermaidcoveclothesandnails
@mermaidcoveclothesandnails Год назад
You're a wealth of information on this, wow! May I ask, if my teenage son has a non-fasting glucose of 55, do you think that would be a lab error? Glucose fluctuates as you mentioned, and prior bloodwork never showed an out of range value for glucose for him, but 55 seems really low for someone, especially one who hasn't fasted. Everything I read about puberty seems to suggest temporary high values, not low.
@sargon6948
@sargon6948 Год назад
@@mermaidcoveclothesandnails Hello, and thanks. I would suggest a repeat of the glucose test, and if he has no apparent symptoms or lethargy it's possible it was a false low laboratory reading , or rather, a rare collection or analytical error, as 55mg/dl glucose either plasma or serum, is quite low, and in the hypoglycemic range (below 70 plasma, or below 65 serum), some people can operate ok at 50-70 glucose in the fasted range, like in special ketogenic diet, or in very young children, but in a non-fasting state 55 is quite low for anyone, and almost half of normal blood glucose in most healthy non-fasted humans. So, unless he is doing a Ketogenic diet or has changed his lifestyle dramatically, or conducted a super long fasting period, I would suggest def. a retest at some point with his doctor, or you could in the interim, even check at home if one has a access to a relatively accurate glucose meter (cheap 20-30$ glucometers can be purchased online or at a local food and drug store without prescription these days, with decent accuracy +/- 5 to 15% depending on brand - good enough to rule out hypoglycemia, or hyperglycemia). Hope all works out for you, and your son!

Ranges are changed for each element in health I read a very recent article on the changes in normal BP levels. The reason given for the change was because "it hadn't been upgraded since 2013" With the lower markers, it definitely puts more patients in the category of needing medication I am sure that is the mindset behind the change in blood sugar levels.
@wetrock2766
@wetrock2766 5 лет назад
Knowledge is not static and changes with new discoveries, very much so in medicine. If you think there is a conspiracy to lower markers to sell more medication, it's your choice, but I disagree with you. The research and medical community is not full of people sold to the pharmaceutical industry. It has been found with long term research that blood levels deemed correct a few years ago were still too high and caused serious health problems on the long run. The solution to these problems is now being presented as a very low regimen of sugar and carbohydrates by these researchers. I have lowered my blood glucose levels to the new limits in six months and because of that my doctor took me completely off Metformin, I also lost 85 pounds. Have a look at the ketogenic diet if you suffer from diabetes and you will see an improvement in you health without needing medication.
@boatman222345
@boatman222345 2 года назад
The old ranges were largely based upon random blood glucose reading taken by doctors and hospitals. Not surprisingly a large percentage of the people tested were suspected of either being diabetic or on the road to becoming diabetic. Not surprisingly this led to early estimates being high. Additionally when I first became a Type 1 diabetic 49 years ago there was no way a diabetic could self test and only very crude tools for monitoring and adjusting blood glucose. Even today maintaining "normal" blood glucose can be very difficult and doctors often settle for a fairly wide range.
@notoriouslysue
@notoriouslysue 4 года назад
Yes, it used to be 120, then 115, then 110, then 100... now 95? See, if medical professionals and pharmaceutical companies lower any number enuff... it's a gold mine. Remember when they started lower the blood pressure numbers... thousands who were at 120/80 are now on medicine and seeing their doctor more often. My blood sugar in the morning is at 6 am is 115... but guess what happens... by 8 am after coffee or a light breakfast it drops to 95... throughout my waking hours it ranges from 80-130. If I fast during the day (and not while I'm sleeping) my blood sugar can be 80-85. I don't have diabetes and have been told that by more than one physician... I don't know why but my morning fasting sugar is slightly higher than my daily average. The highest my readings were were 148 after a batch of french fries and surprisingly 132 after half a Cinnabon. Both dropped very quickly. A doctor's job security is to call you sick whenever they can, even if it means lowering normal numbers in every category. How do you think some mechanics stay in business :) If you blood sugar ever goes over 200.... see a doctor right away... that's what I say anyway. But I'm not a doctor looking for your money.

Hate to rain on your parade but home glucose monitors are notoriously inaccurate with single readings sometimes off by as much as 35% high or low. I've been monitoring my blood glucose for more than 40 years and have seen so many inaccurate that at a penny apiece I'd be a rich man! This doesn't mean all readings are incorrect, but it does mean that a single reading must be taken with a grain of salt. My advice is to take 4 or 5 readings a day both before and after meals as this will give you a reasonably accurate estimate.

Is it a great workout for the beta cells in pancreas to quickly ramp up insulin production? Thank you in advance, somehow I can't find any good research on this topic.

Look up glycemic index and glycemic load. Low carb diet to focus on protein and fats. Fruits like watermelon are considered high glycemic food, so have in small amounts. Avoid soda, juices and food with added sugar. Some good fruits to have are blackberries, raspberries strawberries, even blueberries but have single serving. Have protein then the carbs in a meal. Your sugar was high because you had watermelon and yams . Even organic sugar and organic honey is still high in sugar. Try eggs, avocado, cheese as snacks over fruits.

Well they started testing me regularly I have a blood sugar sensor stuck to my arm all the time. People and my doctors have been telling me for years that I must have diabetes because I was over 30 but when testing my blood sugar was never over 130 now I got injured moving a carport with my brother carrying it across the driveway cracked my 2nd toe causing a big hematoma on my foot which went septic and they cut off my foot after being treated in the hospital they put me on insulin satins, beta blockers blood thinners, and a few other pills. I’m not sure about. Now on those I got neuropathy in both hands and my remaining foot some thing I’d never had before my blood sugar was around 95 to 100 all of the time I was in the hospital my blood pressure went up to 154/96 the throwing up every morning bothered me the most and then the night terrors started from the blood thinners and then they gave me Covid in the hospital I didn’t get any symptoms from that they kept checking me for liver and kidney failure which come from the satins and bath-blockers I found out after the night terrors because I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life and sing I wasn😢going to go back to sleep I started looking up what I was taking and they sent me in to get a hart monitor stuck to my chest well several of the nurses got upset because my arm was now black and blue from my Elbow to my armpit I couldn’t drive or anything because of also being dizzy all of the time and was also starting to suffer from dementia and talking writhing or doing anything were becoming almost impossible to do the bata-blockers also said you can’t be alone ever because you’re hart can stop and you have to always have someone their doing CPR till help arriving can continue. Anyway the nice nurses rushed me to the ER where i spent most of the rest of the day and most of the night looking for blood clots they didn’t find any also my eyes were hemorrhageing not because of the drugs because they never cause these problems even though they are listed on web Md as problems from these drugs well I had run out of all of them and was going to get the refills on the way home but after getting out of the hospital everything was closed and I couldn’t get a ride to town again for altos a week. But then something funny started happening the feeling in my fingers started coming back I wasn’t throwing up every morning the first time in almost 6 months my thinking started getting clearer I was still having trouble writhing it took almost a week to list the ten symptoms that had gone away after going off of the drugs and my blood pressure had dropped to 130/85 the lowest it has been since going to the hospital and my blood sugar was around 100 to 175 the doctor got mad that my blood pressure and other symptoms had gone Dow and walked out refusing to even talk about the symptoms that were listed as overdoses of the medications 💊 that were now gone. It’s been almost a year now that I’ve been off of them my finger tips are still a little tingling and my foot is a little numb and I’m still getting injections in each eyeball but that down to around once every 8 weeks now and my vision has gotten a lot better I still use reader glasses but I can read my iPhone with out them the small print is still a little fussy but I can read it. My blood pressure has gone down to 120/80 I don’t have any irregular heartbeat but here’s the big one the med cause the vitamin B receptors to stop working that’s what causes the numbness so I take vitamin B1, B6, B12, D3 Magnesium and K2 not all of the time but even not eating for over 24 hours if I take B6 my sugar goes up to around 250 and stays there for around 12 hours even taking the long lasting insulin will not lower it vitamins B1 and B12 will rase it to around 200 now I quit eating anything with sugar and very seldom eat any starches just meat and some vegetables mostly caned or fresh. Now I’ve been playing the harmonica since I was around 5 or 6 years old back in the 60’s I’m almost 68 years old now the last few months my blood sugar has been creeping up. Like I said I have the FreeStyle Libre 2 I check it anytime I do anything different before eating after eating or doing anything different or feeling differently throughey out the day testing 5 or 6 times a day sometimes more often now I’ve started playing my harmonica again I even posted some of it live on Facebook part of which got messed up and deleted so I did another 1.5 hours of playing so I could show my doctor who by the was wasn’t interested in the health of his patience but here’s what I found out when my blood sugar is over 250 to 300 or higher I can play and wright music from 250 down to about 180 I can play my instruments around 180 I have trouble with thinking and playin a tune around 150 I can sort of play songs that I know very well but have trouble remembering the tunes or even playing along with them on my phone when my blood sugar gets down around 100 I have a hard time even watching RU-vid. Now last weekend I went to the local food bank they gave me a small loaf of French bread I made a couple of sandwiches 1 slice of bread about 3 inches square and a 1/2 inch thin with a little mayo a slice of cheese and some ham on it my blood sugar went to 367 after eating 2 of these last night at 9:30 pm. I even took my insulin at 10:30 pm now I know it’s bad because I don’t feel bad and I haven’t been feeling hungry all of the time so you know I’m risking my life by not being hungry all of the time and being able to do thing and being able to think that’s one of the worse signs of diabetes not being able to think or do thing and not being hungry all of the time that’s how I’m guessing you know your healthy if your miserable in pain feeling bad you know your going to die any minute then your doing everything right but if your not in pain your stomach isn’t upset and you can think and do things that is unhealthy. Just check out me on Facebook under Glen Parker my sugar was around 250 and I was able to play till it drops to 180 and I started having trouble remembering how to play a instrument that I’ve been playing since the 1960’s and at 180 I’m having trouble playing and had to quit what I’d like to know is how did they determine that 100 was good the only study I could find on the internet was they tested 10 college students for a week in 1950 and determine that 100 was normal and healthy now I was little back then and I do remember the 60’s they checked 10 college student who were probably hung over and sold there blood for beer money one week and they determined that these 10 drunk kids were what everyone should try to accomplish well I’m not a alcoholic and have only drank a couple of times in my life and have never gotten drug and passed out ever and don’t plan on doing so in the future either although most of my relatives on both sides of the family were alcoholics and drug addict and drinking cases of beer and throwing up all over myself and the yard like they did every week and feeling like they did the rest of the week just didn’t appeals to me. Maybe I’m a rebel but I don’t want to live like that and if that Normal I’ll pass

That is why they made it a law that had penalized uncovered individuals through the IRS in the beginning. Thank God that has changed for the moment. Under 100 is a normal FASTING blood sugar. Almost everyones blood sugar goes well over 100 after eating carbs. The A1C approximates your average level, so naturally it's higher than the fasting. A normal blood sugar 2 hrs after a meal is anything under 140! I'm actually a non diabetic 22 year old with a 5.0 A1C, but I sometimes check my blood sugar due to a history of diabetes in the family and have seen as high as 175 in the first hr or two after eating and was reassured by my doctor that it was normal.
