A PMO, or Project Management Office, helps centralize projects within an organization so projects are aligned with strategies. In some companies they might look after every project, are involved in strategy, and are highly connected to senior executives. In others, PMO roles and responsibilities vary, and they just provide project documentation and so every project manager is working from the same set of project principles.
