Ok, that's great that we got to see all kinds of housing and styles, but what about the title topic? "Summer in ABQ". All I learned was "close your windows & vents in the spring due to the dust."
I'm glad you shared some of the other types of build we have here. Adobe is great but the offering build wise is much more expansive than what most think. I think even some locals aren't aware of how many builders are doing contemporary plans now.
Dude you should do your vlogs in the evening. Summers are terribly hot in Abq. The city comes more alive in the early mornings and evenings. July/august turns hot humid.
@@AllAboutABQ yep i learned it the hard way. My brother and i hiked the foothills at midday. I thought i was going to faint plus i didnt want to run into rattlesnakes. 😂😂 Evenings are best time to go outside but im not a snake guy.
Im happy to see that there are a few big trees out there! I have a question. Are the abobe built roofs a problem with excessive rain? I was told that from someone who owned one in arizona.
Thanks for all the information you post. What do you think of Corrales? How are the Covid rates and is it easy to get in to see a doctor or are your hospitals overflowing? Are people nice about social distancing and wearing masks?
Hi Rose! Thanks for tuning in! We're pretty open and people are usually nice and outgoing in Corrales. Social distancing is normal and our hospitals are seeing patients.
Hey skip ! How is the Artist/ Street Art community out in New Mexico??! I’m from California where it’s pretty big, and I’m moving out there very soon !
Hi Mark! We have various Del Webb communities in both Rio Rancho and ABQ. www.flexmls.com/share/5G8IX/Selected There are some other age restricted communities in various price points.
Hi Skip. First of all I love your channel, it's been really helpful. I have a question. I'm a third year film student and I'm planning on moving to the U.S in the near future. I've done my research and narrowed my options to Albuquerque and Dallas. I've read articles about the film industry in Albuquerque, but they mainly mention Netflix and Breaking Bad. My question to you is if you could talk about the film industry in Albuquerque, but in detail. Should film students move to Albuquerque as an affordable alternative to bigger cities? Should aspiring directors move there? Can producers start a production company? What about laws regarding filming in city spaces? tax incentives? are there any film festivals? basically, can we make actual business making movies while living in Albuquerque? this sort of questions haven't been answered by those articles, at least that's what I think. It would be cool to hear what you have to say regarding this topic since you really know your city. Honestly, I'm leaning more towards Albuquerque, but these questions are keeping me from making my final decision. I'd appreciate if you could help me. Thank you so much for your time. See ya!
Hi Bastian! Thanks for the love. Albuquerque seems to be a popular destination recently for the film industry. There are tax incentives and plenty of opportunities for all aspects from film to post production. Check out www.cabq.gov/film
If you want to be be in the film and tv industry and want to bypass LA (wh I would highly suggest if you’re just starting out) then these are the cities w an active filming community: ABQ/Santa Fe, Austin (not Dallas), Atlanta, NYC/Brooklyn, Vancouver and Chicago.
Hi Skip! Thanks for the vids. Quick question for you, does NM also have mello-roos taxes for new construction builds? That’s huge right now in CA and it’s such a turn off when considering a newly built home because seems like it’s just another itemized expense on top of the usual property taxes.
Hi Brigitte! Some new construction neighborhoods will have it but some neighborhoods do not! We’re happy to show you some of each. In NM, our Mello Roos is known as a PID (public improvement district). Hope this helps!
