I follow Scho and Jo on their loop. Not sure their actually channel name. Boat is Pivot but think it's SchoandJo. Newbies, learned everything on their trip. If you can find a way to make money while on the boat, then you can do anything you want even not on a boat. Glad to see the dog. They have Ollie which in my option is the real star of their channel.

Hello and welcome to the Great Loop. Nice job on your video. The only thing that I might add that I learned in my boat purchasing was to purchase a boat that makes you happy not what people tell you you need to get to make you happy. Remember, it’s something you’re going to be living in for a year and you want to feel proud of it For yourself not for somebody else. Secondly, any boat you buy will be a hole in the water to dump thousands of dollars into no matter how new or how old it is. It is a boat and a fact of life. Only other thing I can add is to not plan your entire trip before you go. Only plan the four stages. Summer winter autumn and fall. I will be leaving for my great loop from port Canaveral on April 1 of 2024. I will be only planning out 50 miles the day before so that I have that next day down plus a Plan B. Each evening only plan 50 miles for the next day plus an alternate. Don’t plan any more than that because everybody I talk to tells me that their second day trip almost never happens the way they plan it. Also, it’s more fun to experience things as they happen without having a true schedule. I will be doing a weekly video on RU-vid as well, at least that’s the plan. I've been wanting to do the Great Loop myself for some time now. I feel fortunate that I ran across your channel since you are just beginning the entire process. I'll be sticking with you, so keep up the great videos.

Awesome you guys. Very impressed with your extremely mature outlook on life at such a young age. I’m 60y old and been planning the loop in my retirement. Wish I had the foresight to do it young. Glad you are embracing life’s adventures as that’s all there is in the long run. Best of luck and maybe I’ll see you out there on the loop.

Great video, BTW you don’t need a range of 208 m, you can choose to do a hop around the bend, with stops in places like Stienhache, cedar key, crystal river. While this takes more time , it can be done, also makes having a gas engine a possibility. 2 gas engines might be better than a diesel.

We took a look at your video last night. Nicely done! A few facts you may be interested in: You also have the choice to take The Calumet River which is south of Chicago instead of going through Chicago. That is what we did. Our air draft is 20'8" with antennas folded down. We had to remove the anchor light mast to get under the 19'6" bridge. We also have a 4'9" water draft and had no problems anywhere even in the historically low water that was on the news last fall. If you join the AGLCA there is a forum you can search to ask any questions. We are also happy to answer anything too.
