I'm very confused about how a person can influence another to buy, or think a certain way. I can't comprehend how people can so easily be told what to do or think. Can someone explain this phenomenon? Thanks. It's truly concerning.
The word "influencer" has a callous, cynical connotation and only seems appropriate from the business side of things. As far as I am concerned, those to whom I subscribe are social media "educators, "entertainers" or "edutainers". After thousands of hours of viewing, I can safely say that they have not influenced me to buy any single thing at all. In terms of "edu.." everything passes through this critical filter that I have. So the word "influencer" makes me laugh and squirm at the same time.
Why do people respect the views of influencers? I've found people whose products I respect, but I have NEVER found a total stranger whose personal oppinion on anything matters to me in the least. Just trying to understand here.

So basically any person you find quaint or charming that talk about or partake in a particular niche or hobby you find interest in on the internet why must everything have a damn label these days?
The explaination would benefit from an example. What influencers do you follow, and what are some things you've bought because an influencer told you to? Maybe I'm immune; I don't think I'd be able to give an example for that question.
