It really sucks when you're the only introvert in your family and they keep pressuring you to be more social because they just don't understand why you're not like them. Edit: Wow. Three years later, it’s so nice but so sad to see how many of us there are. When I was little, my dad used to force me to order and purchase things by myself. I know he just wanted to teach me some social skills, but it ended up giving me a lot of anxiety that carried through to adulthood. I’m actually really good with people. I just prefer to be alone since most people I’ve met are selfish and manipulative. I’m sure a lot of you feel the same. Just wanted to say - you’re not alone ❤️

Introvert here... In my school, I always alone. I walk alone, I sit alone and I am just all by myself and I like it. But when my 'friends' saw me just sitting there all by myself, they would be like, "Hey, someone accompany him! Poor guy sitting alone.." NO! Please leave me alone, I want it to be that way. Doesn't mean someone just sitting alone only means they are sad or depressed. They just like to be alone. Because they're INTROVERTS! One day I was walking alone going from one place to another a teacher saw me and say, "Poor guy walking alone." Please freakin' NO! That's just annoying and stuff. I felt like explaining to everyone about introverts and extroverts, but thinking back they would not understand and continue to think I need a company all the time. It's not like people neeeeeed to be with the crowd all day long, 7 times a week, 30 days a month, 12 months a year FREAKINGGGG 24/7. Huh? I guess people just don't get it.

Here's a big tip about introverts: If an introvert asks you to watch a movie with them, they consider you a very close and trustworthy friend. Turn off your phone, and pay very close attention to the movie. An introvert's fave movie is important to them because they feel an emotional connection to it, one that's pretty similar to how people feel about pets or friends. Respect that. Pay attention to the movie, and talk about it afterwards. The introvert is trying to show you a bit of themself the best they know how.

Being an introvert means less but better friends, limited socializing skills, super sensitivity, extreme empathy for others, caring personality.

Being an introvert is enjoyable at times. Sometimes I get lonely and depressed though. If I do speak to people, I usually hang out in small group with family or friends that I know and trust very well. I like being alone rather than being in public areas. It's also hard for me to get noticed sometimes. I am known in school for my good English and writing skills though.

I am very much an introvert. At home, I don't really talk much. Based on this video, I think I would consider myself a thinking introvert. I spend a lot of time in imaginative thought. Maybe that's why I love being an actor. It gives me an outlet for imaginative thought. I will say that I feel I have greatly improved my social skills since I joined the Shakespeare Institute in my town. I made a lot of new friends that share my interests. I still have times where I have trouble with conversations, but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

It's false that extroverts are happier than introverts, we just regain happiness and energy in different ways. An extrovert might concider something to be fun, whilst an introvert claims it's draining. Introverts tend to be more silent, and enjoys spending time alone, but the claim that introverts are more depressed is just false.

If introverts are more likeable, why is it I don't have friends?

One big misconception that people bring up when it comes to introverts is that we choose to be this way, whether it's out of spite or inconsideration. While there are people that do that, not all introverts become introverts out of choice. As a 28-year-old currently living with his dad (financial and family matters), I honestly wouldn't mind doing more social activities with friends. The problem, however, is that I have a speech impediment, which has been around since I was born, so making friends has always been a challenge. I only ever made one friend throughout my life (sixth grade) but he moved with his family to Utah shortly thereafter, so I've been by myself for 17 years. As much as I enjoy being alone and reserved sometimes, I also like a little spontaneity and risk taking in my life, which are obviously considered more extroverted traits. I've also considered going on dating sites, not necessarily to find a match, but just so I can have an avenue to talk to people that's not just video games. Apologies for the long comment, this has been on my mind for a while and finally wanted to say it.

FACT: To be an Introvert does not mean that you live life alone. In fact, alot of introverts have plenty of fab friends, and family. But, when you need your space, you need your space, and everyone can relate to that.

The best thing to do in order to find happiness as an introvert, is to find someone special who is also introverted. The time you guys spend together is often just you two. It's a really nice feeling.

People have already picked up on the fact that I somehow know more than they can understand how I know it, which is why they tend to come to me when they need to find someone they can´t find.

I'm an introvert (becoming an extrovert) I know I'll never be 100% extrovert. But I'll always know who the introverts are and I'll never forget my folks and what I came from. I just want to be able to live the social life as it means me feel so much happier. I know a problem that comes from my Introversion is feeling alone when I'm going through a stage of sadness which really isn't okay. People usually confuse an introvert with a shy person. Being shy is not comfortable and there are ways to change that, but being introverted is fulfilling and comfortable and it cannot be changed. Introvert is a personality type.

Thanks for sharing I’m also introvert, growing up with many siblings, every time we have visitors or going to store and seen by many people around my thoughts in mind was crazy and I feel shy for no reason, I prefer myself to be alone doing the things that I loved to do which is singing it helps me relax and calm.

I am an introvert, true. When i "spy" on people, i am likeble to them because i have to be in a specific personality that is confertable and prefered the other person without asking. People then think that is my actual personality even though it isnt in some ways.

At first I thought I was an a introvert, but I started being more overwhelmed and getting panic attacks. I also started getting physical symptoms like nausea and shortness of breath. I realized I have social anxiety disorder and now I want to have therapy, but I haven't told my parents since I'm scared they'll brush it off.

sometimes I hate myself for being socially awkward and anxious for most of the time, especially in a very crowded and stimulating environment. but I find it more peaceful and relaxing, talking to people and becoming only with a few, it's enough to know that there are people who are real and trustworthy enough. plus, I prefer observing and selecting the people I'm going to interact. And now, I'm starting to love my uniqueness !

"Seduded environments"

While I'm happy to be an introvert, it's really hard to blend in today's society since it's so extrovert biased. What's worse is when you have social anxiety. Welp goodbye outside time I guess. I swear just the thought of going to school and meeting people makes me anxious. Also since I only have one friend in school (who is an extrovert), I always try to bring myself to talk more since I find any kind of silence awkward (I mean, when you have social anxiety, you tend to overthink about everything). Of course, one I keep trying to engage in the conversation, I immediately regret it because I think that my friend will find me talkative when in fact, I'm just trying to not make myself awkward. I don't know lol. Sometimes introversion is a good thing but most of the time, I don't think so.

Came back to watch this after a year, and it pretty much strangely explains my life in a 4 minute video.

I am a extrovert/introvert I am friendly but I don't open up as easily to people because I don't trust people like I used to when I was younger because all my friends moved away I observed people to see if I have something in common someone before I become friends with them and I have an old soul but I am always happy I always tell jokes around my friends and family but I am outgoing when around my friends and family but not outgoing when around strangers but I be friendly to them. I also think before I speak because I am shy because I embarrass myself alot it happen to me before alot

this is great now I can life my life and not have people ask me about how I don't really like being around others in socal stuffs #SpreadAwareness

After watching this video, I realize that I was surrounded with introverts and they demonstrated their own uniqueness and distinctive personalities!
