I think it's fascinating that for the last five Finals there've been no repeat team from each conference. Sure Miami, Golden State and Boston have been there multiple times but never back to back years during this span. It's good for the league that it's this competitive now.
@@sneakyf7668 To me It Was Always Far Too Heavily Weighted ... Luck has A Lot to do with it ... place, time, competition, match-ups & end-season HEALTH ... for instance ...
Mavs exceeded everyone's expectations. They were highly unfavored against the timberwolves and thunder. Celtics will have an upper hand in this series but Luka and Kyrie won't let this opportunity slip away so easily.
@@jonathand.t.5051I think that they might have not been favoured because Luka wasn’t completely healthy throughout the games and the Okc were the first seed
In 3 years Luka has been to the Western Conference Finals twice and now he has reached the Finals.. not to mention the Mavs GM Nico Harrison has built and incredible roaster around Luka. The chance of this dude leaving the Mavs is slim to none..
@@kevinchang232 how do you figure? He’s 25. So are PJ and Gafford. Lively’s 20, Green is 23, Hardy is 20. They’re all gonna get better. And Kyrie’s only 32. Steph is 36 still looking like Steph, so why wouldn’t Kyrie have at least a few more years at this level?
@@kevinchang232 We simply don't know what the future holds. This Mavs roaster is very young outside of Kyrie and not to mention this has been an incredible season from him statistically with no signs of slowing down. So nothing really implies that this can't be done again. Truly all the pressure is on Boston in this Finals matchup. They just can't seem to get it done despite having a loaded roaster for years. Where as Dallas has only had this current roaster for 3 months.
@@taylorbayless6553 Just saw some of his other posts and he is a either a Celtics fan or going for the Celtics in the finals lmao. Just doesn't want to face the reality that all the pressure is on Boston to win this. 🤣
Doncic has more experience under pressure than anyone in the Celtics (being the man at the Euroleague, ACB, European and World Championships with Slovenia at such a young age...)
@@ethanfay6091bro you definitely don’t know that. We watch the NBA finals because it’s in America. I bet Europeans think euroleague is more important than the finals.
Yeah you absolutely right! We Europeans watch both competitions but fans here are more heated during games. The fans in NBA are fortunately softer and more friendly, here in Europe is straight up Chaos and Madness.
The Mavericks took out numbers 1,3 and 4 in the West. Celtics beat numbers 4, 6 and 8 in the East. There’s no doubt who had the harder road. Mavs also ran thru the West without home court advantage even once.
Fun fact the Mavericks are the 2nd team in history to be the 5th seed but make the finals. If they win the championship they will become the only 5th seed to ever win the chip in the same year. The other 5th seed to make the finals was the 2020 heat btw
It´s pretty simple: both teams feel very comfortable at the moment and both have great team spirit. That´s why this is a very fitting final after the season we just witnessed. Both teams are led by players which are just entereing their prime, both teams, have great third and fourth options or great young talent and the only obstacle feeding your claim is Kyries "high" age of 32, but if i think about what we´ve seen from him the last weeks no one should be worried about the nearer future. Simply put: if the frontoffices in Boston and Dallas keep their cool about the finals results this year, we could watch two dinasties in the making, Us refering to this decade as the Mavs/Celtics-era in hindsight is absolutely possible.
The angular stone of the win is the IQ of Derrick White and Jrue Holiday. Tatum is so gifted but he struggles to make things simple (he would force 3s instead of provoking fouls) or to use foul trouble and clock at his advantage. Celtics are clearly favorite and they are their own Kriptonite … if they messed up, Mavs won’t give them any mercy.
tatum is 26 years old. its not the last chance for him at all. lebron is still in the playoffs nearing 40 year old. 26 isnt finished at all. young players dont win chips
What’s crazy is that if the Celtics win Luka won’t get hate for losing the finals and JT will still be a choker, and obviously if the Mavs win JT will never be able to get away from the hate for the rest of his career
For sure.! But he does have a point, because when they were close to going to the ECF they had Harden run the point. That duo is a dangerous one, but an actual PG was the last piece they needed.
Honestly, I have the Mavs winning this. Luka & Kyrie are one of, if not the most, clutch players in the league. And they just gentlemen swept the best defensive team in the NBA. If the best defensive team can't stop them, I don't think anyone can.
I think Kyrie and Luca run out of gas, the Celtics have the length and size to stop them, and the players to make them work. They get one game but I think the Celtics are the ones that are here to win
Celtics in 5-6 Games, A healthy Porzingis will help space out the Celtics offense more, and with the Mavs offense relying heavily on isolation basketball and Luka and Kyrie, the Celtics shut both of them down and force the Mavs role players to take all the shots
I think there will be a couple of stars who are looking at q possible destination. So even if The Mavs don't win this year I think they only get better and just come back next year. For The Celtics who knows what happens if they lose.
One thing for sure is that this Nba finals will be unpredictable. This could be ended in just 5 games but we really don't know for sure because of how talented this era is.
I'm leaning towards Celtics in 7 but I'm afraid I have to disagree with one take he made. If the Celtics win this series, this does not prove they are a future dynasty, if anything this might be Tatum and Brown's last chance with the current core. They've been together since 2018 and at some point, you gotta seal the deal or its just never gonna happen. The Warriors were the better more experienced team, this Mavs team can beat them, but I think the Celtics should have a very slight edge.
01) On paper, Boston is the best team I've seen in a long time. All five of their starters are stars. Derrick White & Jrue Holiday are both Defensive 2nd team and were 6th & 8th in line for DPOY this season. That is a nasty defensive backcourt. With their defense noted, they are also putting up 15 & 12.5 ppg... not slouches on offensive either. Jaylen Brown & Jason Tatum are all-stars with crazy versatile size, strength, & athletism. Then you have Porzingis, former all star, averaging 20 points per game. 6th man Al Horford has been playing very well for this team. Boston with homecourt should be favored to win. 02) With that being said I want Luka & Gafford to win a ring. Big Gaff seems like the nicest and most respectful person in the room, and Luka is the face of the league who has been talked down about & underestimated by NBA media for years. As a huge Mavs fan for years, I watched this team basically go through a restructuring after losing Brunson for nothing. 03) For the Mavs to have a real shot, the role players are going to have to step up. Celtics have versatile defenders, so if they double Luka or Kyrie, the role players have to capitalize on the passes. Luka needs to step up and have some big games early.
The mid 2000s wasn’t a grid lock. The Spurs won every other year (03, 05, and 07) with three different Eastern Conference teams winning as much as the Spurs combined in the years The Spurs didn’t (Pistons in 04, Heat in 06, and Celtics in 08).
Calling the warrior's a dynasty is laughable 2015: cavs injuries 2016: greatest choke job in sports history 2017/2018: KD, the greatest warrior of all time carried them 2019: Injuries cost them a ring 2022: tatum choked but that isnt the warriors problem End of the day the warriors EARNED 1 ring. Fakest dynasty of all time.
I personally want The Mavericks to win it all this season, I predicted that they would reach the NBA Finals and if Luka wins this chip he would be in conversation for The Greatest Dallas Maverick OAT all tho Dirk would still have an edge it wouldn't take him long to catch up.
celtics won both because one time Mavs was a different team and another time was post trade so they had 7 loss streak too, they still was figuring it out

7:35 what an interesting turn out of events. I stopped watching basketball for a while cause the super teams were just too much. But I’m a Celtics fan so I’m at a crossroads to which I want. Do I want super teams to continue and the Celtics win. Or they lose and the future of the NBA will be better cause it’s more enjoyable for me. Idk man
Celtic beat the Mavs twice this season by double digits with Luka having 30 + triple doubles. One time was without Porzingis. Its funny to see so many People just assuming the Mavs will win this series. I got Celtics in 6 or 7
could you not be pretentious about people not sharing the same opinion as you? no one is assuming they’re gonna win it’s just predictions. mavericks got the best player in the series, maybe the league; why you assuming the celts gonna win
@@ballallday0 I'm not being pretentious. And 80 percent of the comments I see on every post have the Mavericks winning. I'm just stating my opinion also. That's why I said " I have the the Celtics winning " none of us know for sure what will happen
If Kyrie wins its definitely going to show that he could win without Bron. Shape the narrative the way u want but it will be great for Kyries career and he'll probably be praised more for the 2016 championship run.
Mavs in 6. This may be the most competitive finals in modern NBA history, but unless Boston wins both game 1 and 2 at home, there is no way the handed-to-em Celtics get this done
Paul Pierce is a little crazy, but he’s not wrong to make a point that he and Allen belong in the convo of “most clutch duos.” They were insanely clutch for the few years they played together
I think the most likely current dynasty is still the Nuggets. The 2000s Spurs were a dynasty and they never won 2 rings in a row. Nuggets can do something similar in the next few years
Why would it be their last chance? I understand it would be a huge blow but everybody on their team is still in their contract for next year and they would be the prohibitive favorite again.
top 20 mj kobe bird magic wilt hakeem duncan Curry kareem shaq thomas Jokic russel giannis luka (assuming he beats celtics) west dirk moses barkley anyone but kd
European players tend to stick around & face the challenge of winning where they are. Giannis, Jokic and Luka all seem to want to win where they are, not bounce around & look for super teams. That era is hopefully over.
Keep in mind mavs roster was built damn near at the end of the season can’t wait to see how they do in the finals n next season, if any mavs might have made a dynasty team 🤔 ??? U got a generational player with a great #2 thats really a #1 but rather let Luka shine and with reliable role players smells kind of the GSW
Every time the Celtics have won the finals (Since the year 2000) their star player has pooped his pants. Every time the Celtics have lost the finals (since 2000), the star player has NOT pooped his pants. If Jayson Tatum wants to win and get Finals MVP, we know what he needs to do on the court.
This guy really says the Celtics can’t choose their opponents heading into the finals but he also says Luka is avoiding facing the Nuggets in the playoffs 😂😂 hilarious
Mavs in 7. Clutch Lu-kye shot at the end. Mavs want it and grind harder, team spirit/chemistry is tougher and better than Celtics. Could go either way but if Luka is locked and decides to go nuclear he can end literally any game single handedly ☢️
