It sucks. I feel like Blizz intentionally draughted SoD to drum up false interest in Cata - and to show sub numbers and player count high for Cata: "We have a Zillion players logged into Cata! Look, proof of concept!". When in reality you are right, it's a waiting room. The most offensive part is that SoD was great; it has problems but we had constant interaction with devs, weekly updates and tuning and fresh ideas. The closer we got to Cata the less interaction with devs, less updates, less tuning. Now I play less and less and find myself getting invested in other games. If we get nothing for another month it's going to be VERY hard to get me 50% as invested as I was even a month and a half ago. I played SOD ALL THE TIME; multiple 50's mage grinds, all darkmoon decks without swiping, etc. Now I actually feel disdain for the game for dragging me along with this (seeming) bait and switch. I really hope next phase is amazing because they are about to kill the best thing that's happened to WoW since Classic came out.

I can only speak from my experience, but I don’t get the impression that cata is a p4 waiting room. I hadn’t played wow in almost 15 years before returning to SoD and was immediately hooked, having an absolute blast (like many). I begrudgingly started playing cata when it was clear that’s where the bulk of the player base had transitioned to. To my surprise cata is actually really fun, both pve and pvp (ESPECIALLY PVP). The numerous quality of life changes, ample amounts of both pve and pvp content, has left me with a clear view that cata is a better version of wow than SoD (only 1 man’s opinion). I tried messing around with sod a few days ago to knock the rust off and i couldn’t help but be bored. Granted the state of p3 will not be the state of p4. And as a primarily pvp player getting a taste of RBG’s and arena’s, as well as the various battleground modes that cata offers, idk what p4 is actually going to offer pvp players to be able to compete with what cata offers. Like if alterac valley is what we have to look forward too, I think that’s an L. I’m not saying it’s impossible and I’ll be here to test out p4, but there needs to be MASSIVE changes for p4 to bring players back and retain them. I understand that has been their message, I’m just not going to hold my breath that we will see the necessary changes made, or that the execution of those changes are going to work. No matter what, I appreciate and enjoy your content. I don’t care what you’re covering or playing I’ll be tuning in my dude. MUCH LUV TA YA. Now back up your pissing me off❤
i tried cata up to about lv 30... i couldnt do it. it feels too fast, too messy and not well thoughtout, i cant imagine mop is much better ill just wait for p4^^ also nerf shamans!
Im the GM of my SoD guild and now the GM of the Cata guild and 70%+ of my guildies from SoD stopped playing weeks ago and just dont even raid or bother logging on which is sad of course so we all play Cata which is fun for the time being. However.... after speaking to many of my raiders from SoD not many are excited for MC + Ony...... they better do something NEW otherwise it will be a snooze fest one again with just MC/Ony....we all did it thousands of times.
i said it before, blizzard believes they know whats best instead of listening to the crowd. the crowd btw that has an impossibly higher total time investment in the game, and they could learn a lot from the jagex model to improve on some of the issues ppl have with current blizzard games. i had considered playing MoP for 2 seconds till i heard they're nerfing and changing more in that game then they have been on SoD making the catch up game feel pointless because there really is no chance to stand even close enough to smell the people that were there day 1
Just got my final mount. ill wait til the last week or 2 when they do some nonsense 800% bronze event for the mogs. If i don't get the mogs.. nbd. Mounts done. Panda hype score pre panda: 11/10 Panda score after getting every achievement/mount: incompetent blizzard staff / 10 I no lifed. i no lifed hard. 2 weeks of my level of no lifing? good luck to everyone else. everything is too expensive. i feel bad for casuals that thought they were going to get it all. If blizz doesn't do a massive bronze boost right at the end this event is a 100% flop. "but monster. you can just level alts for 40k bronze" ok. let's assume you only get bronze through hitting 70. you'll get about 70k from 1-70 including the quests. do you really plan on leveling 25 characters to get all the stuff?
My raid group is playing Cata just to pass the time. There are a few things I like about it, but I would much rather be grinding up the 60 right now in SoD. Would love to see some 5 man content added in Phase 4.
Hey just packing my stuff for vacation your video kicked in and in terms of SoD its perfect timing, super happy about the delay :) but thats my personal experience Idk why people are so negative all around, SoD is on hold. I really like your positive attitude, I expect a hell lot of people to be back once we got an announcement. I much rather have the devs take their time for good content than having rushed not well thought through systems. Thanks so much for spreading the word that you are hanging around looking forward for phase 4 - on all other sources people just tell you to unsub and talk SoD down.
@@zerodas3293 The issue is, that it creates the illusion nobody cares about SoD and that p4 is dead on arrival. But I think the silent crowd is just waiting for it ready to roll out.
Cata is genuinely good. The reason it received hate at the time of release are things that if they got rid of them in current wow, there would be riots. "the world changed" yup. for the better in most ways. handful of zones that were completely under used got destroyed. thousand needles/ shimmering flats / dark shore.. but no one used those zones anyway. Cata had the first "hard" raids. they're not hard. but compared to everything before them.. yea. transmogs. flying in kalimdor/eastern kingdoms. class resource changes. Hunters wanna go back to arrows and mana? didn't think so.
i dont know what everyone is complaining about that game mode has been out for a week and i haven't even been grinding that much despite having almost none of the mounts before i have all of them except 2 world boss mounts which ill get in a couple days i also have full epic gear which ive started upgrading already. so even if it takes me 20 days to upgrade my gear ill have almost 2 whole months of being op and one shotting bosses.
I think people just don't like how Blizzard is out of touch with the community more than anything. Preach made an amazing point how they could have made fun of this and made an event out of frogging so to say instead of hard nerfs to bronze rates overall. I just wish bronze was account wide and more obtainable for a main toon rather than making 4-5 different alts to get the 40k stash.

I think its a design goal of Remix that players finish the event with a stable of lvl 70 characters so that when TWW launches theres a likelihood that most people will have several characters ready to start the new expansion and unlock their hero classes. I think that they believe there is a higher likelihood of increased player retention under those circumstances, because players wont have to level an alt to 70 to start tww once they are finished with their main, but can jump straight back in
this is 100% their thinking. the functionality of the path to that goal is bunk though. If you really want people to level "a bunch of alts" you need to make the path to 70... not the same repeatable path over and over and over. I have 20+ toons max level. i got so bored of panda instances/raids i started leveling a retail guy through the WoD campaign just for a break from this unbelievably boring "fun mode" That's after 4 alts in panda. I can only imagine the people that were banking on leveling "the other faction" (the people that have every class max but it's all horde or ally) they're leveling 10+ toons in this painfully designed mode.
@@-.-Monster tbf, it's really not that much of a grind if levelling an alt is the only goal you have...about 2-3 hours of spamming the heroic dungeon queue will get you with a bit of luck (which mostly involves ending up in a group with someone speedrunning through the dungeons for bronze and threads and immediately requeueing the group - a fairly common occurrence in my experience so far) It is very monotonous though to do it that way, and because your basically just chasing after someone who is destroying all the mobs, far from engaging.
@@unholyxeras8182 thats what i meant when i said "not the same repeatable path over and over and over" because that's what people are going to do. if your choice is 15+ hours of questing or 3 hours of spamming the same few instances.. you're just gonna spam those instances. With that being the case, why nerf so many aspects of it? why not 1 for 1 the cloak transfer like originally tested in the beta? are we really gatekeeping the shoulder transmog that much? and you know thats the reasoning. it's still easily obtained. If the end goal really is just a stable of alts for new players; why not make it as absurdly fun as possible?

I also think bronze should be accountwide (for one thing it would be an opportunity to test the account wide currency stuff that's coming in tww and make sure it works properly). It's a shame, because I'm actually having a lot of fun on the one character that I'm primarily concentrating on to unlock cosmetics, but the alt levelling has been very boring but very quick. Which is a weird state for it to be in given my suspicions that it was their primary goal for the game mode. Accountwide cloak and bronze would make literally any new character you make for the mode fun to play from the moment you create it, and able to keep up in any content you do Edit: another big issue with the cloak not being account wide is having 300% xp on a max level character but only 100% xp on the new alt you just made just feels bad
I'm not gonna lie if your goal is to earn bronze in the event, I was under the assumption that this event was MAINLY a reason to level alts, with some cosmetics added, as well as a reason to do old raids. I am confused as to why people are thinking that it's fun to have a "meta" farm where all you do is sit around killing frogs all day. For the average person, most of these changes are positive and they're not getting done wrong. I expected those to be the main reasons to be playing. I feel like people are too focused on having their cake and eating it too. You don't need to even really put effort into levelling at this point, it's so dumb easy, and can be done in a mere few hours by now in Remix. You don't even really need to try because people queueing are now max level with insane stats so they just carry everyone through content anyway. This whole problem with Remix boils down to people being lazy and not wanting to do braindead easy stuff to get bronze because they'd rather have something even more braindead and considerably less engaging and fun for the playerbase as a whole. Just because a small fraction of the community has nothing better to do than sit around smacking Overworld mobs to earn their gear, doesn't mean that should be the option that everyone has to resort to in order to catch up. And people are complaining because "the meta" isn't fast enough for their liking when for any normal person, it's actually incredibly easy. Saying making alts is a bad thing for the game really isn't a correct way to say things when this is how the game has been for so long now. Everyone who regularly plays the game has an alt, or makes one. This is making it possible for more people to do just that. Because all you need to do at 70 on your new character is your dailies then you log off. If you can't get all the cosmetics you want/need just by levelling alts, in my opinion, you're playing the event wrong. This isn't Gulp Frog or Timeless Isle Remix. It's Mists of Pandaria Remix. Do the content and level alts like they gave you a reason to do in the first place instead of just hyperspawn farming like you're already probably doing in retail. Sorry, but if you farm hyperspawns, your playstyle is bland and Blizzard should not be catering to you. Once you hit max level you don't even need to do full raids or anything anymore. Literally just do your dailies then move to another alt. If you're sitting there more focused on gearing in Remix with your bronze, you're honestly wasting your time if cosmetics are your goal. And if you're playing Remix because you're wanting to min max and take it super seriously... Why? Just because your definition of fun is actually kinda shit, doesn't mean you should gatekeep other players who don't wanna do that thing because it's not engaging at all. Bronze is not hard to get right now. You're just not trying. You just want them to bring frog farms back so you don't have to put any effort into the event because your idea of fun is sitting on your ass and getting free rewards. Froggers stay mad lol.
I never once said making alts is a bad thing. Nor did I ever say people should only frog. I think MoP remix is a mode everyone and anyone can enjoy. It seems like based on your paragraph of a response you exposed your intentions behind how you feel about people in the game and I sense your issues so ima let you live with that. However I think Blizzard telling someone to go do multiple raids a day for bronze rewards is not good game design. Hell even folks like Preach & Bellular mention there dissatification with this decision from Blizzard's end. Along with a lot of community posts having issues with the bronze changes. I think you guessing I'm coming from some Elite mindset where I wanna be a frog guy all day long, I can care less tbh with ya. Not everyone has the time to make 4-5 different alts in MoP and just want to enjoy 1-2 toons MAX. So I'm not gonna argue with you, there's no point and I stand on what I said in my video whether you like it or not...
@@HelloJTello The point I'm trying to get at is that the ReMiX from the ground up isn't meant to stay around permanently, and they even centered some of the marketing around leveling alts, getting them ready for TWW, and doing actual content that is designed to hand out rewards in a nostalgia-based gamemode. Hands-down, I highly doubt Blizzard ever intended on people actually going and doing frog farms or whatever, but part of the problem is the immense power gain was causing gatekeeping problems to where people who didn't want to frog farm were being punished because they COULDN'T do raids like they truly wanted to do in the event. But regardless, if you don't want to level alts, I'm not exactly sure why you're playing ReMix, because once TWW drops all of that work in MoP ReMix is going to be pointless outside of the fact that you have the alts now, and the cosmetics you earned, maybe a couple of heirlooms. I still stand by saying leveling takes almost no time, arguably less time and being more profitable than most farms but, because it's not instantly gratifying, people don't wanna do it. I don't think it's healthy for the game to reward people extravagantly for slaughtering defenseless world mobs while practically being afk. It's barely even playing the game at that point. Then it becomes more of a problem when those players have the audacity to start up most Heroic/Mythic raid for said limited event, saying "ONLY FROG PLAYERS ALLOWED" because they don't even want to play the game enough to even think of doing a mechanic. Rewarding that type of playstyle isn't something I believe any MMORPG should do. Another update, saying that leveling an alt takes too long in ReMix is absurd, considering Hazelnutty just posted a video recently showing how you can easily level from 10-70 in record time. It's not hard, and if you really don't want the alts, just delete them after you level... It's not hard. If you had time to sit and farm frogs, you have time to level and do actual content in Remix. It isn't time consuming like you say it is.
It's an optional thing, I ain't forcing anyone to do it 🤦🏽♂️ I'll just make content for free and never get compensation if someone offers me it, right...
