Bump steer is a change in toe setting (front of tires closer together than the rear of the tires) through the cycle of front suspension travel. The best set up is as close to zero toe change as possible. If your front tires change toe setting they are essentially doing the same thing as you turning the steering wheel slightly on every bump you hit. Bump steer is one of the biggest contributors to steering wheel feedback, twitchy drive ability, excessive front end wear and worn out forearms from trying to keep the car straight. So in an effort to eliminate all of these things we developed our BSD™ (bump steer delete™) Pin kit.

My friend and I took our Honda Talons down on Monday from Colorado. Mine's a 4 seat LV, his is a 2 seat R. Got the works done, RIS and springs and front limit straps. Set them up for trail riding. Gained 2 inches of ground clearance. Went back home and took the wive out for a quick spin......"HOLY CRAPOLY"! She said! What an improvement! Rough ride, and chop and chatter....GONE! Just like they said it would be. It does lean more now, but not too bad. If I want to go fast, just put it in sport mode, stiffens up nicely! Do this before you do anything else to your machine! It's that good! 2 Thumbs, WAY UP!

I once drove briefly a powerful car with fairly wide tyres, I could feel in the steering every pebble on the asphalt somewhat, is that bump steer ?
@ShockTherapyllc
@ShockTherapyllc 11 месяцев назад
It can be. It could also be a few other things like scrub radius.

How do you mock up bump steer for a dual triangular front suspension on a solid axle? Have a Dana 60 and working out designs before welding
@ShockTherapyllc
@ShockTherapyllc Год назад
There is no bump on a straight axle if you have a solid steering link. You can however have the steering shift one way or the other depending on your pitman arm and pivot links on the way down to the diff. It’s complicated. Need way more info than you have mentioned and way more complicated than typing here will explain. Contact the shop with your details and front end geometry plans. We can try to help. 🤘🏻

@@ShockTherapyllc I have pics of the triangulated set up from a calculator, and ride height, and it’s all from scratch so mounting gearbox is open to inside/outside chassis

I have a question. I have a macpherson suspension (I have a CVjoint, outer tie rod, lower control arm, n sway bar link. I don’t have upper control arm) I have mk4 golf fwd vehicle. When it comes to outer tie rod being parallel with lower control arm and cvjoint, my front right tie rod has some angle going up while front left is perfectly parallel. (Keep in mind my tie rod is mounted from up to down on steering knuckle, or facing downward). My question is, can I flip my outer tie rod upside down (making it facing up), so tie rod could be much more parallel with lower control arm and cvjoint without stressing out steering rack, sway bar or links, lower ball joints, control arm bushings? Please let me know, I got project car
@2inchpimp16
@2inchpimp16 11 месяцев назад
I personally don’t see a problem. It’s will do the same application, but instead, front right outer tie rod will be upside down. I would like someone professional opinion.
@ShockTherapyllc
@ShockTherapyllc 11 месяцев назад
You can if your tie rod stud is straight boot style. If it is a tapered stud then you can’t because the hole in the spindle, strut knuckle will be tapered too in one direction. If not tapered your good

Do you think the KRX has the best suspension geometry and do they have the least amount of bump steer of all of the factory cars?
@shocktherapy4820
@shocktherapy4820 2 года назад
Yes. It just needs power.
@JLo609

@@shocktherapy4820 I have a KRX and awaiting my shock therapy spring kit to arrive tomorrow sometime. It is a smooth ride and I agree it does lack power compared to others. pro charger here I come! Lol. If only Kawasaki would up the game and build a 200hp option from the factory like the can-am turbo rr I do not think any other machine would compare.
