Thanks for the video! I've been having GI issues for the last couple of weeks (it's been a 'crappy' fortnight), and am currently waiting for blood test results after the doctor suggested it could be Coeliac... Your videos have been very helpful to calming my nerves about all this :)

In the 90’s I was diagnosed after a blood test but never went through with the biopsy, because after I asked her “ if I don’t have any gluten, will I improve my life?” She said yes absolutely. So I didn’t have the biopsy. Back then, you only had celiac, no words as gluten intolerant. I talked to her a decade later and she told me that my blood test wouldn’t have showed anything if I was gluten intolerant. It was in the 90’s that I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Then when I cheated myself by having a bit of this and a bite of that, not only did I have gluten symptoms, I had an endo flare up. So I have 2 auto immune responses to gluten . I also have egg allergy and a tree nut allergy, and tomato intolerance, and peanut intolerance.

Hi Robyn from Australia... My 17yr old autistic daughter has just been diagnosed Coeliac... our gluten free journey is about to begin. My head IS spinning, so glad I’ve found your very informative, funny, realistic vids... so helpful... as a foodie and a recipeaholic, I’m finding the thought of eliminating all the delicious foods from our world very daunting... urgh... but so glad after years of my daughter being unwell with no answers, we finally have one and be proactive in getting her well... I will be binge watching your vids 🌸🤗

I was diagnosed with Duhring’s disease, or dermatitis herpetiformis but I also have malabsorption. I consider myself to be celiac.

Thanks for sharing! I hope you've managed to get your symptoms under control. 😊 I honestly hadn't heard much about dermatitis herpetiformis until starting this channel. In fact, I hadn't heard it referred to as Duhring's disease until now! It's interesting that some people with DH have malabsorption and some don't. For anyone reading this comment and wants to learn more about Duhring's/dermatitis herpetiformis (and how it relates to celiac disease): celiac.org/about-celiac-disease/related-conditions/dermatitis-herpetiformis/

I was diagnosed 3 years ago via Endoscopy. I was GF for a year when I had it done( GF on doctors advice). I had symptoms for years especially migraines, even attending a migraine clinic for 2yrs and they never told me to get tested. I’ve been GF and happy for 3 years now …until I got gluttoned last Sunday by a “GF” meal in a restaurant. I lost all of Sunday night and Monday it was horrendous. Mass evacuation top to bottom, migraine that knocked me out and joint pain.

So you got a diagnosis even though you hadn't eaten gluten for a year?
@TheSch3cter

@@jasminemariedarling Yeah I had an endoscopy and they took 8 samples for biopsy.

@@TheSch3cter Very interesting! I'm waiting on my blood test results but since I stopped eating gluten I think I might get the endoscopy regardless of blood test results because I know I have it. Thanks for sharing your experience.

How long does eating gluten affect you? I want to look into this for myself. I fail my gluten free diet about once or twice a week:( I want to know if I need to be off of it for a long time to feel the benifts or if I am looking in the wrong place.

Hey! Thanks for reaching out. 😁 My reaction to gluten now is completely different than before I went gluten-free. First off, I will say that before you try going completely gluten-free, be sure to get tested for celiac disease first! My next video is going to be on this subject, because in the event you ARE celiac, the test may not be accurate if you're already on a gluten-free diet. That being said, before I went gluten-free, the digestive symptoms would show up a couple hours after eating and last a few hours, or sometimes for the rest of the day. Strangely enough (as I mentioned in my diagnosis story video), it didn't happen every time I ate gluten-only when I ate certain things like white flour pasta or store-bought muffins, for example. That's why I never thought that I could have celiac disease. Now I can't tolerate anything with gluten though. I will also add that before my diagnosis, I played with a gluten-free diet a little bit (as in, maybe a week at a time without eating it). I didn't notice a difference, which is why I didn't think gluten was the issue. It can take 1-2 years for the damage to heal completely, which means that it can take a while on a gluten-free diet for your gut to heal and the symptoms to stop. Hope that helps!
