This video is about council tax in the UK, what are some students' exemptions on council tax and how to register.
Council Tax exemption is not automatic, you have to apply for it. You can get a 100% Council Tax exemption if all adults in your household are students.

If you live with parent that’s exempt from working and your a full time student thats earning under £1000 are you exempt from paying rent or is the council going to still ask for rent ?

So I am a student and looking for a place. If I stay with adults who are not my family, strangers basically but working adults. Do I get 100% exemption? (Provided I apply) but landlords keep mentioning that I have to pay the share of the council tax. Could you pls clarify this? Thanks.

Yes, if any working adult is sharing a house with you then you get an overall 25% rebate on council tax. In the case of a family, it's mutual so as a family you pay the remaining 75%. In your case its basis on your agreement with your roommates.

As far as I know, it is for all students irrespective of which Uni you are in. Apply for it and share ID proof with council

Depends on your accommodation. Every area and house falls under a band like A, B , C . Depends on that band.

HI Chaitra , you only have to pay council tax if you are staying with an adult who is not a student. Till you are a student you are not liable for council tax if you are in all student accommodation, even if you are doing a part-time job . Although if your dependant is doing a part-time job then you have to declare the same to council.

Your information is not correct. Council tax is unlawful. There is no law in the UK that says we have to pay. Go and do your research before you pay fines to debt collectors.
