Great explanation but at 11s the instantaneous velocity is 107.8 m per s not 110 m per s. Apply the derivative of 4.9t2 is 9.8t. Thus at 11s it is 107.8. This can be calculated by 11.00001 to 11 s. but you rounded it off. Please recheck. It created a confusion for me. Thanks

i have a doubt at 4:59 shouldn't the instantaneous velocity be directly displacement by time and the time is 11s and thus velocity=592.9m/11sec why did we take the rate of change?
@EnjoyMath
@EnjoyMath 4 месяца назад
Velocity defined as the rate of change of displacement....so v= ∆s/∆t Now, for instantaneous velocity,the ∆t is very small or almost close to zero....still we have to find ∆t.....that's where differentiation comes to picture because limit ∆t tends to zero, ∆s/∆t = ds/dt Pls let me know if you have any questions...

I have a doubt... At 11.1 s the instantaneous speed is 108.29 m/s At 11.01 s it is 107.85 m/s But, at 11.00001 s it is 110 m/s which is, in my view, wrong because as the time decreases the instantaneous velocity should decrease... So, it should be less than 107.85 m/s... Correct me if I'm wrong...
@EnjoyMath
@EnjoyMath 3 месяца назад
As per the calculations in the example, 593.9785-592.9= 1.0785 That is divided by the time interval 11.01-11= 0.01 1.0785/0.01= 107.85 m/s I think actual instantaneous speed at a given moment is same...now the question is how accurately we capture its value....if we keep the time interval large , our instantaneous speed will be less accurate,while if we keep the time interval as close to zero as possible, we will get instantaneous speed more closer to the accurate value....pls note in the example, in all the cases,we are only discussing about instantaneous speed at the same moment... Pls let me know if you have any questions...

Hello Mam, I didn't understood how does h came into picture and tends to 0. how can we relate it with example.
@EnjoyMath
@EnjoyMath Год назад
Hello, h is a variable whose value is not zero,but is very very close to zero or tending to zero. In the video example, we define velocity as the change in displacement ∆s ,with respect to change in time ,∆t . But as we choose time intervals closer to each other ,say 11.00001 and 11 ,then that ∆t becomes a number very very close to zero,though not perfectly zero. So in this example,∆t is like that variable h which also is present in the denominator and tends to zero. Pls let me know if you have any questions....

Question. How many Numerals/numbers are present between 1 and 1.1?
@EnjoyMath
@EnjoyMath 4 месяца назад
There are infinite numbers between 1 and 1.1....
@2ndaccount433
@2ndaccount433 4 месяца назад
@@EnjoyMath Hence it not possible to know the exact value of the number which is closest to / just next to 0. So, In differentiation when the denominator (delta x) tends to 0 and correspondingly the Numerator, its function (delta y) must also be tending to some number. That value of the (delta y) is called as the 'limiting value'. dy/dx then means : the limiting value of the function divided by (delta x) as it tends to 0. We do not know the exact values of neither the numerator nor the denominator. But still the limiting value is considered/picked/accepted because we *don't* know what number falls immediately afterwards 0. I think that students don't understand dx or the concept of variable tending to another number (eg x->0) because they fail to realise that there are inifinite numbers between *ANY* two given numbers. Also, the best way to deal with this uncertainty is to have faith in god and admit how limited our knowledge is.

Differentiation tab kaam aata hai jab Hume very small change of time mein,velocity ko calculate karna hai ....∆s/∆t when ∆t is tending to zero....normal velocity toh easily find kar sakte hai... instantaneous velocity ke liye differentiation bahut useful hai.....iss video mein bataya hai ki differentiation ka matlab kya hai...dy/dx means it is rate of change of a variable y for very small change in x.... Pls let me know if you have any questions..

why is y=4.9 t^2?

We have used the formula in physics - s= ut+(at²/2),here u=0,a=9.8 So on substituting above values we get s or y= 4.9t²... Pls let me know if you have any questions

Really good to know about your interest in learning! Differentiation is essentially finding the change in a quantity 'y' for a very very small change in quantity 'x'.... My suggestion would be that you can first learn about functions, then limits and continuity,and then come to differentiation...then it will be easier to understand terms like limits,functions etc... All the very best in your learning!! 😊😊👍👍👍

Does your running is function.? What is independent variable in this respect..
@EnjoyMath
@EnjoyMath 4 месяца назад
When you are running, the numerical variables here can be your speed, the distance travelled, the time taken for running...more speed, more distance travelled and less time taken taken...so depending on which variable is fixed, that can be made as independent variable....so for example, if we know that we are going to run for 5 km, then distance is the independent variable and speed and time will accordingly change...or else if we know that running speed is 20 km/hr, then speed is the independent variable... However , it's mostly safe to take time as independent variable because that's a quantity that is really independent of most of other quantities... Pls let me know if you have any questions...
