Emma, as a tico I appreciate you exposing others to our beautiful country, however, I think you should be a little more clear when referring to what you live surrounded by in your area and make sure you're not generalizing. Costa Rica is not a country with towns on both sides of a single main highway and people like me, who live in the central valley cannot relate to what you're experiencing in the rural areas you chose to live in. You're right, I probably should be more clear, and I think what I wanted to say didn't come out as I had wished to communicate it! The central valley is quite different in terms of driving and roads, although I do mention some details about it! I think in terms of the towns and "single" road - really what I meant to say is that most towns (a huge majority, not really including the cities) seem to have one major street (often times connected to the highways) and the towns are kind based of around this. This is very common in many parts of the world, of course, because there usually isn't need for more than one "major street" in smaller communities, and likely the reason why this becomes problematic is because the population grows at a faster rate than had been originally expected, leading to busier roads. I do find there are definitely some rural areas in the central valley though, and some of what I mention does apply. Eventually I will make another video about driving with more tips and ideas to make driving a positive experience for everyone, and I will be sure to distinguish the differences in provinces/areas, because you're right, Costa Rica does have a variety of road environments! Hi Emma thanks for another interesting educational video. I`ve been to Costa Rica quite a few times over the years and because of all you talk about regarding the driving and roads would never drive in Costa Rica . I take taxis or the local buses . Another thing I hate is the lack of stop signs and traffic lights. I always stay in Jaco or in theJaco area and even on the main street in Jaco there`s no traffic lights or stop signs. When walking from one side of Jaco`s main street to the other side you must be very very careful. Anyway Emma thanks again for an interesting Costa Rican video , Cheers 🥂 🥂 Lindsay

Lo se los carros que ya no deberían ir en la calle y sin licencia solo se puede hacer en las áreas rurales y playas .. en el centro son muy estrictos con eso

Esos cruces donde se juntan dos saludas es lo peor!! 😂😂😂😂 Siempre son estresantes y no es que se hagan despacio ... Mcuhas veces se hacen esos cruces de carril cruzado con velocidad

Will be in quepos February 2! We were there last month and love the bus and have no desire to drive!

Awesome! The bus is super handy, and luckily Quepos/Manuel Antonio is pretty accessible for getting around, so a car isn't super necessary anyway! I hope you have a great time!!
