I have one question for you: In horse riding their is a lot of competition between riders. Are there any special physical requirements such as a jockey has to meet a specific height and weight requirement for horse riding?
That is a VERY good question! The beauty of riding horses is that anyone can do it. There are no height, weight and physical ability restrictions, a person just has to find a suitable horse for their body and their physical abilities. The horse should match and pair well with the rider. There are some competitive disciplines (riding for competition) were there are weight requirements like horse racing, where it is required to be within a particular weight range. Like horse racing jockeys, jockeys must not exceed 118lbs-- there is no requirement for a jockey's height. But there are a vast majority of competitive disciplines where there is no weight, height or physical ability restrictions aside from both the rider and horse being in a condition to compete. Btw, YT held your comment so we are sorry that we didn't see your comment until now. Thank you for your question and thanks for watching!
