My husband has FAI and it completely destroyed both of his hips so that now it's only bone on bone (left hip is worse), all sorts of torn tendons and labrum, etc. He's getting his left hip replaced next week. He was ignored since childhood (complained to the doctor about his hips locking up, hip pain, etc). Then played ball hockey goalie for several years as a teenager and young adult (Hasek-style, so lots of splits and flopping around and whatnot). Now he's 45 and in severe pain all the time, and it's way too late for arthroscopic surgery. Physio did nothing, since he was already super strong. He was told he has both cam AND pincer type in both of his hips.

I have FAI and have noticed it helps me when I include internal rotation in my strength exercises. I train it in side lying, with a 1/2 filled ball between my knees.

That's what I believe, at least. What do you think?

That’s great! If it works for you then fantastic … every patient will be individual so if there is something that you find is helping you that’s excellent
