Jim Carrey's first movie was a B grade funny vampire movie called "Once Bitten" (I believe in 1988). It came out before Jim did "In Living Color" with the entire Wayans family. And Tone Loc was in "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" with Andrew "Dice" Clay in 1989 or 1990. All of these preceded Ace Ventura.

I heard the original Cold Medina was a house party drink made with juice and cheap vodka spiked with cough syrup. Codeine and hyper flavour from the cough syrup likely made it kinda nice. With the popularity of the song many bars started offering a drink by the same name but without the cough syrup.

Tone Loc played a police officer in the movie SURF NINJAS. That movie is so crazy, it has Ernie Reyes Jr. from TMNT 2 SECRET OF THE OOZE. Ernie also played DONATELLO in TMNT 3. But yeah Tone Loc with his raspy voice is classic. I believe he also did a song called MOTO SURFIN for the SURF NINJAS movie. You both should do a movie reaction to it. Hey Recklezz, they pronounce his name loc like smoke. It's short from Loco Spanish word for crazy. My cousin use to bang back in the day. He called himself Tim Loc. I had this cassette tape back in the day. If I remember it right I think his tape was blue for his affiliation. Comptons most wanted had blue tapes too.

Fun fact: in the original demo for "Christine Sixteen" Eddie Van Halen played lead guitar and came up with the famous riff. When Kiss recorded it for their album Love Gun (1977), Gene Simmons made Ace Frehley copy Eddie's licks to the note.
