HR analytics, also known as people analytics or talent analytics, can be defined as an evidence-based approach to making HR decisions on the basis of quantitative tools and models. The difficulty in assessing the impact of HR is that the advantages of HR practices aren't always immediately apparent. In the past, HR has never measured, recorded, or expressed its contributions. In addition, accounting practices classify human capital and talent development costs as expenses rather than capital investments.
