I know this might sound weird, but I think my inner room is a bouncy castle. I’ve always had this belief that Jesus wants to share his unbridled joy and peace with everyone, and it’s been my personal mission to tell as many people as I can that Jesus doesn’t just belong in moment of trial. He deserves to enter into moments of joy-to to laugh and smile with each of us. Sometimes, my imaginative prayer leads me to sit in the quiet of my imaginary bouncy castle with Jesus across me in a little party hat, tell him about my day and even tell him jokes. And the best part? He actually laughs! I can’t describe the sound at all-in fact, I don’t think I hear his laughter in particular. What I know is that Jesus’s laughter feels like: a little ball of light in my heart expanding just a little more with every beat. And I have known no greater peace.
Beth, I have done Contemplation for a year. This is the first time of hearing about Ignation Contemplation. Thank you for sharing and teaching this method.
