Maybe a dumb question but how are you using the radio/walkie talkie exactly? I use a garmin inreach along with my cell phone when fishing for emergencies so I am curious if the radio is something I should look into. Thanks for the video.
Hey there, sorry for the late response, been sick for what feels like all of January. Nonetheless, I use the radios for several situations - been frozen out of my phone (iPhones suck in the cold, did a video on that excursion) and keys locked in car, unable to get back to the road. Other situations are when angling with other clients to allow us to instantly stay in contact, but adventure a bit. And sometime I have needed help from officers, highway patrol, DWR, and have contacted them. The GARMIN is a great option too, and probably puts you ahead of my game a bit? Also, it has come in very handy when I’m deep sea kayak fishing, or meeting up with friends and clients where there is no service, or services. We simply dial the same channel and communicate, very helpful. Not to mention I’ve had people get swept away in fast water, and makes locating them much more efficient.
@@blindbearoutdoors7644 Ahhh thank you for the response. That makes a lot of sense. I am normally by myself, so the Garmin and phone may be all I need but on trips with friends I may invest in the radios. Thank you for the suggestion!
Chris, so sorry for the late reply, have had some things that needed my attention for a bit. Thanks for reaching out, and that Badlands bag is a Reactor model. I believe according to the site that it is still sold. Great bag for the size and stapling! Watch some of my latest videos, and I have upgraded the bag. It fits most people.
I do, they are just mitten pliers, but I use them all year long. Those are Umpqua pliers, but I’m sure they are all made by the same manufacturer - just different brands printed on them. I just purchased a pair from Cabela’s with their logo when I was unable to find them locally at Scheels.
