Khomotso Mathabathe Thanks for the comment. Yes, issue preclusion is also known as collateral estoppel, however, issue preclusion is the more modern term. That's a good point and I will do some edits. uslawessentials.com

Issue preclusion is called collateral estoppel. Claims preclusion is called res judicata. I think you have this backwards.
