Please do a video on the wagner group. I'm finding it hard to get factual information about whats going on. There's a lot of propoganda and misinformation it seems, but it's just hard to tell whats actually happening.
On the first time Juneteenth was celebrated as a federal holiday in Chicago---this was on a weekend of July 19, 2021--some celebrants treated that day as another 4th of July--shooting off personal fireworks to celebrate the inaugural Juneteenth holiday. Fireworks were even shot off by non-Blacks at that year to celebrate the holiday, since the mentioning of "Freedom Day" or "Black Independence Day", since the regular Independence Day on July 4 was known for so many years for celebrating with fireworks.
The holiday was primarily a black celebrated holiday in the south. The name given to that day by the community was "Juneteenth". The more interesting question is how the day finally became a national holiday after 156 years of obscurity.
I find it interesting that the ratification / proclamation of the 13th Amendment isn't what's celebrated, since that's what finally outlawed slavery in the entirety of the United States. The Emancipation Proclamation only applied to the Confederacy.
Juneteenth focuses on the emancipation of BLACK Americans who were formerly enslaved, rather than the broader black diaspora. This doesn't mean that other black ethnic groups cannot observe the holiday. It is a celebration of freedom for Americans and their descendants. With being said the colors for Juneteenth flag is RWB 🇺🇸 the RBG flag represents pan Africanism as a WHOLE. Please allow Black Americans celebrate this holiday without other black ethnic groups interjecting their culture onto a day we celebrate our ancestors living in America at such brutal time in this country they helped build up.
@@naturaldisaster2 Thats cool too. By that logic shoutout to GALEVESTON and GALEVSTON ONLY. Let’s disregard the contribution made by other Black Americans. Celebrate y’all day GALEVESTON, Texas🫡
@@playastats3363 so glad you walked him down with that subtle but logically direct comment. Gatekeeping the celebration of a people cannot be tolerated.
I expected more. Your video was watered down. This video read like the small square box on the corner of a page in an American history book. There is more to Juneteenth than a federal holiday, what people did to celebrate and an announcement in Texas.
