NEW!! Lean Change in 2 Minutes (2022) : • What is Lean Change Ma...
Would our changes have more impact if we combined the best ideas from different communities and wrapped them in Lean Startup thinking? Lean Change Management doesn't force you to following a standard set of practices by helping you design an approach to change that is best suited for the change itself.
Lean Change Management is an ecosystem of modern ideas and tools designed with lean startup, agile and design thinking.

Hmm, of the ideas here some are useful and some assertions need challenge. 'Plan first' and 'suck-it-n-see' approaches are both needed in concert. The statement that the plan first approach "does little more than reassure" shouldn't be taken without challenge. Goal directed efforts across diverse skill-sets, diverse opinions, diverse folk in diverse locations needs planning - that is debate that arrives at committed destination and agree selection of courses of action - maybe that is the closing sections proposal of kanban? so the secret is Big Visible Charts / Information Radiators? I guess in part that is a help. I suggest techniques to envisage the future and navigate the regret curve are more (equally?) significant The explanation that starts "current state...future state" started in the wrong place. 1st debate (or dictate - clear and strong leadership can be helpful) the end-point. Then plot the back-cast path to today. Chaos managed right can be the source of breakthrough as well as being a source of anxiety for those who prefer certainty. It is the control process more than the planning approach that needs consideration in emergent situations - maybe you implied that by suggesting flexible plans but that is not correlated with use of predictive plans. If it is difficult to know when we've reached the Utopian future state (etc) then it is because we didn't conduct goal and journey description activities correctly. I do agree reinforcing negative outcome descriptions predisposes people's psychology to achieve the received target (i.e. to fail) but "56%" really? not 55% or 57% really - how about "mostly" or "in the study of 7 projects in my home town..." or "our success rate is basically a bell curve shape and as lean folk we want to move the peak of the curve towards better" Stating 56% isn't actually meaningful while it does - at least for me - kill credibility. By the time we get to 2mins we are hearing mainstream 1950s and 60s literature plan-do-check-act described with new vocabulary. DSDM and many others described similar a long time ago (so I guess this gives credibility but it isn't new) - Maybe the "we are new insight" is a sub-text bias I picked up that you didn't say.

That's precisely the point. None of the 'new ideas' people claim they invent are new. They're all based on old models and ideas with different names. What I want to accomplish is to help people realize that they can easily design their own approach for change as opposed to buying one from a vendor.
