I'm about five years clean from Marvel comics, and about 4 years clean from DC. Both companies would have to do something impressive and consistent to win me back.

@@ComicsMATEI do think this is the goal of the new Ultimate comics, telling stories out of the main comic housestyle. And the Ultimate X-Men is proably the best exemple of it. But they choice of title is kind of wierd, why retake the Ultimate name instead of creating a new name? And why Ultimate X-Men instead of Ultimate New Mutants or Ultimate Generation X? These would we be more fiting titles.

I haven't bought comics in quite a few years. I didn't like the direction they took and stopped buying. I don't get my hopes up on the new stuff anymore either because of the path these usually take. Maybe Marvel is turning over a new page finally, but I won't spend any money until they get consistent with it instead of pulling the bait and switch game.
Yeh I can't say I blame you at all. I still won't be buying any of the other crap they put out. But for now this new ultimate universe is mostly pretty good
I deliberately didn't include those because they're not ongoing series and basically just explain what I did when I spoke about the maker. Though they were both pretty good too. Hickman as a writer has been nailing it lately
@@ComicsMATE I think they have a lot of relevant information to the universe and setup that will probably matter to the series in the long term, and I believe there are a few details you left out that will likely be especially relevant to the Ultimates series. Though I guess you could just cross that road when you get to it down the line.
