Thank you charles from the bottom of my heart for this sermon. I am 23 years old and i just passed my exam to be a pharmacy technician. Once i received a piece of paper saying i passed. SO POWERFUL! I saw purpose and calling as one - but i was wrong! and this was so enlightening and also........... comforting and edifying at the same time!!! This was exactly my struggle, i thought purpose was a title that i had no faith pressing in the next "calling"..... but God was building me up, sanctifying me through all these calling... this is crazy... and the sole purpose of this all is not what we do but..... is to be with HIM. To be with God, and this statement is so powerful because I had been doing so many things for the past 2.5 years but i forgot that God loves me so much already. The calling is the specific designation and it may vary but the purpose is for our good and to see how JESUS loves us so much.... This is crazy... thank you pastor charles! GOD bless you! I gotta say every time Pastor Metcalf preaches it speaks to exactly where I am. I’ve been pursuing what I thought was my purpose, now I have the career I wanted but am feeling empty still. I keep thinking, if I had a husband, if I had kids I would be happy. I love God and try to live close but still I come up feeling empty a lot of days. This was a good reminder, just being with God.. that’s it, that’s all.

What is amazing is I instantly liked the title of this series. Having read Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren I came on thinking I soooo knew where Charles was gonna go. Oh what a beautiful surprise. Im just gonna say.. This guy right here. I actually questioned alittle about where it was going... I knew there was a purpose for his sermon...I decided to be open minded and keep listening, and let me tell you.. This guy is a genius. The way he preaches is intellectual and outside the box and then boom! I love Pastor Mike Todds sermons, Pastor metcalf is right up there. Loved this! It was a visual as well as thought provoking. We pray about Gods path that we dont know where it's going. Pastor Metcalf broke down the faith part of Gods path that we dont see where he is taking us or why but we have faith..Its about trusting his faith and trusting his purpose even when you thought it was about something else, see what He is doing for you!

I’ve always knew that purpose is greater than potential, as a matter of fact, your purpose reveals your true and needed potential, anything else (potential) would be an additional and not necessarily a necessity for purpose fulfillment. Such a great message. I think many in the church get so caught up in DOING that we forget about BEING with God and I’m guilty of this too. Like being a mom; I get so caught up in schedules, meal preps, helping my kids with homework, laundry, extracurricular activities, etc. that I forget to just be with them and have fun, raise them and teach them. Such a great reminder that our calling and purpose is simply to BE with God, to have a relationship with Him.

I loved this sermon. I struggle with being present and wondering if I am enough or if I'm not doing anything because "faith without works is dead" so I have a hard time searching for my purpose because I feel like I'm not doing enough or don't know where to start. On the contrary we are told to "be still" but how can you be still and find your purpose? Can anyone relate or have advice?

That’s a good question!! I would say definitely bring it to the Lord in prayer & as a contribution to your question, being still relates to being with God. Like in his presence & so I feel like hearing from him, the things he puts on your heart, ur mind, when ur with him or after ur with him could lead you to purpose. YOOOoooO, the word that the Holy Spirit put on my heart at the beginning of the year was “purpose”. I just started a 3 day fast and the focus is creative direction and purpose for myself and my future husband. its 01.28 am CAT September 2022 and I just finished listening to this sermon and I want to thank you pastor Charles Metcalf. I have been struggling with too much mental instability and the word suicide has had already come twice to me but just hearing you remind me that a few weeks ago GOD reminded me that HE IS WITH ME. At the time I didn't think it was for me but now i know it does. I thank God for people like you.

I just completed reading The Purpose Driven Life and i really feel this sermon should be the last chapter in the book. Thank you so much for this message.I so enjoy spending time with our Father but I have always been one of the anxious doers. And i needed to hear this. ❤
