Homily of Father Michael O'Connor from Mass on June 26, 2022, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS www.olgchurch.net/ / ourladyofthegulfchurchbsl
Fr. Mike reminds us that the month of June, which has been called Gay Pride month, is truly a month of pride, but for an entirely different reason. Please Thumbs-Up “Like" 👍🏻 and Share this video on Facebook using the "Share” Button.
People seem to have forgotten Pride is a sin. The original sin for which Lucifer was cast out of heaven. Let's go out and celebrate as we double up on our sin and debauchery. Maybe next we can have a gluttony month ? Or how about Wrath Week ?
My famous now deceased congressman Henry Hyde author of the Hyde amendment told me we must change the hearts of men. Exactly what your sermon proclaims. Let us pray for hearts to turn from sin and be transformed in Jesus name we pray. I might add that we need to elect government leaders that share our Christian values and encourage this through their legislation. Amen.
That's what we need is the Gospels to be preach n teached to this lost n out of control sinful world. That's why u hear that the world is going to Hell,ETERNAL Destruction to the unsaved. We need to know n get the upstanding by GOD'S PLAN OF REDEMPTION/SALVATION. IT IS SO VERY IMPORTANT FOR ETERNAL LIFE WITH CHRIST JESUS IN HIS KINGDOM. JOHN 3:16.
I'm from a Pentecostal Church. I have never heard such a beautiful message in any Church. I want to learn more about the Sacred heart of Christ and Mother Mary.
Mary was not immaculate. She wasn’t sinless. She realized her need for salvation as we all need to do. Luke 1:47 Mary exclaimed “My spirit rejoices in God my Savior” If she was sinless, she would have had no need for a Savior. Also, she was not a perpetual virgin and she doesn’t hear and answer our prayers. We are to pray only to God our Father. She is not our Mediator. The Holy Spirit is our Mediator.
My parents were Roman Catholic, but they never took me to church. They stopped going as adults. I became an addict to alcohol and hard drugs. I’m a year sober, and for the first time in my life I feel like something or someone is screaming at me to follow, to learn, to join the community I was guided away from, I cry when I listen to these sermons. It’s what I’ve felt all along but ignored.
Brother/sister, congratulations on a year sober! I struggle with addiction as well. Jesus misses you so much. And we do too! He’s calling you to come back to the Church He founded, the Catholic Church. This is the meaning of the parable of the lost sheep and also the prodigal son. I was an atheist for 11 years before coming back. Listen to His call and come home. Let me know if there’s any way I can help! But first, ask God. Look into RCIA and talk to your local parish priest. I’ll add you to my intentions when I say my Rosary today. God bless you.
Catholic or protestant i think any who profess Jesus Christ as their lord and savior and seek to follow his example would find this sermon to be lead by the Holy Spirit and worthy of praise. many lives from the day it was spoken before the church through to today will find comfort and renewal in these words.
@@zill0678 our church has no separation we all will be one in him. In heaven we will love each other so much to be there 🙏🏻🙏🏻 we all seek for Gods truth and we are going to marry with his son 🙏🏻 he is our saviour the lamb of God 🙏🏻 lets we all pray to God about these pride agendas 🙏🏻
God bless You sister. I am Lutheran and I am glad to hear this clear biblical teaching of the Gospel. This priest seams to have living faith in our Lord Christi Jesus. I am a conservative Lutheran, and I choose conservative Lutheran priests and congregations when I go to my own Lutheran denomination (the main Lutheran Church of Sweden) for example St Pauli church in Göteborg Sweden. Sometimes I visit the Catholic church, because I beleive that the catholic vicar in my town is a man who preaches with guidance of the holy Spirit. The gerat differences today are NOT BETWEEN; BUT STRAIGHT THROUGH the denominations. That is my belief. Just on the distance between 2 tram-stops there might be entierly different faith and preaching in thte same denomination. THEREFORE we conservative (and now I mean theologically conservative - not politically) christians must work cloeselY TO>GETHER. That is my belief -work for the gospel, for evangelization.
I was born and raised Southern Baptist, have never been to a Catholic Church in my life but this priest is good. I've been watching him for a couple weeks now and I'm very impressed, love his messages. God bless us all🙏🙏
Your parents might of been Baptists but you are not. Catholics are lost. Your soul will exist for ever either in heaven or in hell. Ask God to save you and go back to the church of your parents.
God bless You from a Lutheran who agrees. I think the most significant differences today within christianity is not between but STRAIGHT THROUGH the denominations, between individual souls/ priests and pastors and congregations. All we conservative christians (and now I mean not politically conservative, but teologically) across the world and across denomoination boundaries must work together today for the Gospel. Best regards from a Lutheran in Sweden. 🙂
I love that there are many Evangelical and Protestant brothers and sisters here. We have more in common as Christians because of the Holy Bible. We have to protect our values and stand by them. Thank you Fr for this wonderful sermon 🔥
As an Evangelical, I declare that we owe Catholic believers a great debt. They have had to courage to stand up to a lost and dying world. My dream is that there be greater coorperation between our two traditions here on earth for we know there will be total unity in heaven.
We're good Catholics and agree, we are going to need all people of faith to leave politics at the door and band together to stop the madness in the name of what is right..... REMEMBER.....they win by making us think we're alone....AND THEY DON'T REALIZE..... we're not alone Christian, Muslim and Jew alike need each other more right now than ever in the pages of history! This is shear in our faces DISGUSTING MADNESS and is something that prayer alone will not stop.
@@gpwyt this is not homophobic. Not supporting acts of sin is not an act of hate, but it is an act of love for one’s neighbor leading the person back to Jesus.
Wow. As a Protestant I thought this was excellent. This chat had more courage to speak the truth in it than I have heard in awhile. As Christians we are to be on the narrow road not the wide road chasing the culture and engaging in the seduction of this fallen world.
True indeed, but the only Narrow Road is Christ Himself who opened the road to the Highway to Heaven that anyone who believes can be saved. We should stand for the Christian Ideals, but when sinners no longer come to God is when the message and the Church has missed the mark. Anyone can be saved. The work was completed on the Cross.
@@BaronBoar because most pastors and clergy are afraid to teach on this subject anymore due to government interference and the ire of worldly congregants. It's a dangerous truth that divides wheat from chaff. In Canada you can be charged with a hate crime for teaching biblical truths about homosexuality and sexual sin in general. So yes teaching on these subjects in today's culture takes a lot of courage.
@@carolb1871 I agree… I was raised a Catholic, going to all Catholic schools and mass every Sunday (without my parents). Being baptised, First Holy Communion and Confirmed. But I never heard the truth of the Gospel, which would’ve saved my tortured soul… But by the Grace of God, at age 27, the Lord drew me to Himself and I was born again and baptised. The first sermon I ever heard was the one that opened my eyes to a whole new world that I could not have imagined would exist. A world where my Creator actually loved me? He sent His only Son to die for my sin, that I might be made clean? And forgiven? I could talk to my Father God and He wasn’t somewhere up in the sky, with no concern for us down here? How unimaginable this had all been to me. But it was the Truth, and it was real. God really does exist!! WoW!! I’ll get back on the ground now, because I wanted to say that this priest spoke Truth, and it was really good to hear him quote more than one scripture. This was relevant and well spoken. God bless him 🙏
Really? Where did he talk about two human beings who fall in love and wish to spend their lives together? Where did he confront the dishonesty of ignoring that reality? Where did "Father" Mike acknowledge the cruelty of forcing millions of Americans to live alone, deprived of the love and support of a significant other, and all because we're more worried about genitalia rather than souls?
I am a protestant christian, but I must say this in one of the most powerful messages I have heard. Father Michael, please continue to spread the word of our lord Jesus Christ. We are living in such corrupt times. I always pray for those who don't know the Lord, to seek him for their salvation. God bless you!
ross shin I came out of the RCC and am now a born again follower of Christ… I can say the same thing, as this man spoke very well on the subject, and so much so that I watched the entire sermon. He seems to know the heart of the Lord, and that is wonderful to me. May he be blessed of the Lord God 🙏

Kevin McLaughlin.................Like admitting that the Catholic church is more important then the Holy Bible and that they changed the fourth commandment....which is Remember the Sabbath day which is known as Saturday.....they, the Catholic church said it was a sign of they're authority to change the Sabbath from Saturday, to Sunday, in order to show they're power and dominance!

@@SuphaNinja Yes, I was raised Catholic. The basis of Catholicism is Christian and Catholics believe that Jesus is Lord & Savior. But there are some big differences: Catholics venerate Mother Mary ahead of Jesus unfortunately. Also the saints, rituals, infant baptism and Purgatory do not fit in with true Biblical teachings, among other things.
@@kingpeer14and the rabbi’s in biblical times are what? They wore so called dresses. I guess you need to read deuteronomy and know how God wanted the priest to dress and worship him. Thank you JESUS for this wonderful, simple, caring homily. I attend a Baptist Church and I completely agree with this Catholic Father's message. Thank you.
Chris Hogan I was raised Catholic as well, but I didn’t sense God in the church or in all of the RC schools that I was sent to. But I had an encounter with God at age 27 that I could not deny. I am only on this planet because I know the Lord holds me up and takes care of me. It’s all written in the Bible, the most wonderful words to us His children. I must say though, I was pleasantly surprised by this sermon, as I don’t usually watch RC priests. I only watch the pastors who preach the Truth, and not those who are involved in man made traditions (which the Lord hates as they mislead people). There are so many awesome pastors out there, and their sermons are always thought provoking and can be life altering if we put their words into practice. Have you ever heard of Billy Graham? He has passed, but what a preacher he was!! God bless 🙏
I am protestant curious about what you were going to say. You nailed it. Your whole sermon was the truth and the timing was perfect for maximum relevance.
You're not Protestant, as much as I'm not Roman Catholic, Religion has it's merits, but all man made. You're only path to God is through Jesus, not what Protestantism, Catholicism etc teaches, Look at what Religion has done to humanity, I denounced Roman Catholicism and any other Religion 12 years ago. Jesus is the only way
I am not Catholic, but this is the preaching of the word. Truth presented in love with a reverence for the power of Jesus Christ and attention to His instruction. Enjoyed your sermon.
vista lite I was raised a RC but am now a Bible believing follower of Christ. I agree with all that you said, and I was pleasantly surprised by this sermon. There is more common ground on this whole thing than I’ve ever seen before, so I thank God for that 🙏
Father Mike you have brought me back to God & the Church.I accidentally clicked on one of your videos/ homilies and it truly touched my soul. ❤❤❤I daily wake up praying, starting writing 3 things I’m grateful for, and I now am going to mass every week. You have taught me so much. Things I forgot. I thank GOD for you
Bless you Father Mike. I listen to you every day. No other Priest has ever explained the Bible in such a way that the word is actionable. You have brought me back to the church. I pray every day for you.
The parishioners of OLGCC are so lucky to have a priest like Fr. Michael. I live 1,361 miles from this church, and despite going to Sunday mass at my church, I still sign in on Monday to listen to what the homily will be. I say lucky because I used to have a priest similar to Fr. Michael. His homilies were never more than 12 minutes, were interesting and tied to both the gospel lesson and real world issues. And Fr. Michael calls out the sin of abortion and everyone who supports it. Thank you Father!
Know You have eternal life.♥️ 1 John 5 KJV 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Ephesians 1 KJV 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 1 Corinthians 15 KJV 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Romans 3 KJV 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
This is a great message, thank you. It's hard to believe we live in a time where up is down and black is white, but none the less we do. We need to hear the truth now more than ever.
Yes, he makes a nice analogy of the grooves on the side of the road showing us the right path to the 10 Commandments. And those 10 Commandments say to keep the 7th day holy, not Sunday.
Father, I so appreciate your preaching. Truth wrapped in love. This was the first time a priest boldly discussed Pride for what it is. I had never made the connection. Thank you! God Bless you and all you do!
Luke 20 KJV 46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
Do not call anyone Father but the one in heaven who created you. You people really need to read the Bible.. RC Church is pagan but all churches are pagan.. it's does so much against the word
I love that there are non Catholic Christians listening to Father's sermon. I am Catholic and I love joining together as Christian brothers and sisters in Christ sharing our commonalities in Our Savior Jesus Christ.Amen

Great homily given the week that we just experienced. We still have a way to go to complete the journey but the tide has definitely turned. Thank you Father for your continuous words of inspiration.
Just preaching the truth I wish more would! Great Job thank you for having your voice and spreading the truth ! xxx May God Bless you always Fr Michael O'Connor
He certainly won me over and I’m Lutheran 😁 It takes a strong and faithful heart to speak the truth with so many jackal’s are at the door. Satan is running to and fro collecting as many as he can before Jesus boots him back to Hell.
As a Protestant from Canada, I have to say that I appreciated much of what Fr Michael said in this homily. He takes the truly Biblical "third way"---not hate for LGBT people, nor saying that sin is somehow acceptable, but both showing love and upholding God's "ideal". It's interesting to note how much Catholics and Evangelicals have in common.
J P I’m a Protestant from Australia, and I wouldn’t normally watch a Catholic priest speak, but I was curious about this sermon, and was pleasantly surprised… The man was speaking truth, and was even reading scriptures! I stayed for the entire sermon :) I’m actually a born again, Bible believing Jesus follower, and it is looking like we all have more in common than that which separates us at this moment. May we all walk in the only Truth there is : JESUS 🙏
There are 3 Bible readings and a responsorial psalm at the beginning of the mass. The readings are not random but follow a schedule so that the Bible is read cover to cover over 3 years. When the Gospel is read it is often processed to the pulpit while being held over the priests head. There is also a large contingent of Evangelicals within the Catholic Church. They may hold group meetings or even build large auditorium churches. Even though it is the largest Evangelic church, I don't think most other Catholics are aware of them. Part of the RCIA preparing adult newcomers for Confirmation, or Baptism if they were not Chrstians, is a service bringing all the candidates in the city to be blessed and welcomed by the archbishop. Our group was assigned to the Evangelic church or I wouldn't have known about them either. I will say they had a great sound system
Thank you so, so much Father for the raw unfiltered truth. God bless and protect you at all times. I am so grateful for THe Priests who teach / preach the raw unfilter truth. Glory be to God for ever and ever. God help us to continue to follow Him and only Him. Viva Cristo Rey. Sacred Heart of Jesus help us to be holy.
Thank you Father i love en watch your homily from Belgium its so truth and bold . In my countree de bisshops and priests are so week and silent . GOD bless you !
It’s great to hear a pastor lay it out and not hold back the truth in fear of offending someone. Sometimes a sermon will cut right through me if I need correction but I know deep down I need to hear it. We all need forgiveness and a payment for our sin. Turn to Jesus and repent. Thank you Yeshua for dying for me and others 🙏
I was told by one guy I had no authority to speak on abortion. But Jesus didn't abort His mission to reconcile those who are lost to Survey the Cross from all the perspectives. And have ears to hear The Father's Business Directive. Go Figure with rigour. Is the idealistic soul not overbearing when sharing the Absolute Truth? The disciples despair for their Saviour Jesus wasn't there! Yet He appeared to the women first On arising from the tomb! He saved a gross narcissistic mystic rebellious sinner such as me. And still I cannot see false humility and pride. Strong devoted mature compassionate folk interceding has delivered so many folk! The Holy Spirit's leading is that still small voice. And you've still got a sacred freewill choice. How long shall the strong control the weak? Seeking the face of the Father rather than man's approval. Likely cause pain and remember those who were executed for they refused to fight! Cowards they were called by many Yet Jesus didn't have any other agenda than to ultimately save the wretched sin loving dying by degrees soul to make them whole and practice self control! Make my life a prayer to You O Lord!

Jeremiah 44 17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil. 18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. 19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men? 20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying, 21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind? 22 So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day. 23 Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day. 24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt: 25 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.

Catholics are Christians Whoever believes in the Trinity is Christian. The 1st Christians were converted Jews. Peter, & Paul went to Rome to build the church, which became Catholic. Reason the Mass was Latin.
Please keep preaching truth without compromise and WHOLE heated devotion to our Lord. Thank you and May God add His strength and Grace to you and your messages.

No matter what the secular world tried to make it it will forever be the month God took back His Rainbow on the last Friday of The Month which just so happened to fall on Double Feasts celebrating John The Baptist who cried out "make way for The Lord" and The Feast of The Sacred Heart of Jesus who said this is the year of favor from our God!!
Thank you, father, for your homily, my children were very confused with this homily, they thought that Jesus was not very nice because he did not let go to say goodbye to his family and friends to dose who were trying to follow him, but now they understand that Jesus calls us to respond more intelligently. To respond to God's call with the fire of the Holy Spirit, my daughters realize that June even though that celebrates pride month, sin is also celebrated by those who do not have the fire of the Holy Spirit, also we celebrate the Sacred Heart of Jesus those of us who have the fire of the Holy Spirit we are called to pray tirelessly for all our brothers and sisters and for us to ask God to send the Holy Spirit to his church. fifty (50) yrs ago homosexuality was (still) listed as a mental illness; homosexuality ran and ramped our nation (in some ways the world); then about in 1975 they (dsmv4) changed that and it is not longer listed as a mental illness. politicians "purely" observed this as an opportunity to meet the government "job" if they agree, promote and support homosexuality. today it is listed as a near "qualifier" for employment positions or promotions; even though our laws and constitution stated no discrimination based on: gender, race, ethnicity or religion or sexual orientation. does not matter to the "agenda": look at the recent mr. karine jean WH press secretary. the day she started mr. psaki "praised" ms. jean for being for 1st: immigrant, female, homosexual, black. the following week ms. jean stated the same works (near-identical). nowhere (either jean or psaki) stated any objective qualifications (education, etc) pertinent to the WH press. sec. they do not have to; hence sexual "orientation" and that ms. jean is a lesbian is one "in" of itself. basically we "require" so many positions to be held by "homosexuals"; and our core nation has no issues with this. for 60yrs+ our nation allowed this; now maybe a "price" to pay.
