You forgot a little detail. Blastoise can also have a Mega stone, altough it's not a good idea considering you have both charizards and Venusaur as better megas so I understand why you didn't even said that.
Not gonna lie, I thought it'd be better. When you get right down to it, the only absolutely amazing thing about this team compared to most of the others he's covered is the levels. I guess that because of Red's iconic status, they were hesitant to give him newer, more viable, pokemon. Shame really.
A lore video of certain characters across the game/Manga series games would make a great series. Similar to how Geekdom and CarthuDojo do Dragonball characters and techniques. Pokemon characters would be interesting videos.
Yes, though his team was based on event only pokemon from Gen 1. Pikachu, Blastoise, Charizard, and Venusaur are all Gen 1 starters (Pikachu being the starter for Yellow), his Espeon was the Eevee he picked up in Celadon, Snorlax was one of the two that he needed to use a Pokeflute to battle/catch so he could get to Fuscia, and Lapras was the one he was given by the Silph Co. scientist just before saving the President from Giovanni. Machamp kinda follows the trend as there's a trade for a Machoke (that evolves into a Machamp when you receive it of course) in Yellow, as does Arcanine, sort of (Vulpix/Arcanine was a Game Corner prize depending on the version). So the legendaries are most likely out for a canon appearance for him as while he canonically did catch them, they weren't gifts or events that was required to progress. I could definitely see them giving him the fossils or one of the Gen 1 trade exclusives though.
How gell trained are those pokemon? Mewtwo at level 70 isn't that good when your team is at level 85, and the legendary birds could be at lvl 50 perfectly.

@@kapiquantum The Pokemon Detective Pikachu movie stated that Mewtwo is the same Mewtwo from Red/Blue/Yellow Version, it escaped Kanto 20 years ago, and Red makes a cameo in the movie clearly the same age as he is in Sun/Moon/UltraSun/UltraMoon. Plus, if you take into consideration of the fact that the Pokemon games possibly take place in the years they were released in Japan (most of the time), Gen 1 being in 1996 (the release date of Gen 1 in Japan), Gen 2 being in 1999 (Japanese release), which corresponds to the fact that Gold/Silver/Crystal is three years after Red/Blue/Yellow, then Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald must be 3 years after Gen 2, in 2002. The Gamecube game Pokemon Colosseum's story mode might be months after the main Gen 3 games, and its sequel Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness is five years after Pokemon Colosseum in 2007, leading up to Gen 4's Diamond/Pearl/Platinum with Munchlax and Bonsly making cameos in XD Gale of Darkness's story as newly discovered Pokemon. Not everything is explicitly said, you have to read between the lines.
It would be really cool that if there was a World Championship similar to what it’s like Black 2 and White 2 that Red would be the true final boss for the games as he’ll switch between team depending on what Pokemon, moves and abilities you have for him to get the advantage and would be very hard to take down as it’ll seem that he’s predicting your every move coming from the Pokemon Master himself.
It would be good to see if you could pick 8 gym leaders form all the games to create your own balanced gym challenge. Maybe add in your own picks for an elite 4 and champion.
imagine each best teams that have been done redone with favorites? on red's favorites it would certainly include Pika, Polywrath and others i cant think of off the top
Can you do a series that “corrects” gym leaders and elite four/champion pokemon? Like what pokemon & moves they should have (especially if they owned a pokemon that didn’t match their speciality type)

DearSis I blame gamefreak for this it’s canon that he captured all of the kanto Pokémon and that he traveled to the sevi islands so why do they instant on giving him the same Pokémon? It’s refreshing that they gave him new ones in let’s go but that should have happened ages ago

Red might be overrated, at least he has a great battle theme. Overrated as in he's the only protagonist with a canon team, who can be fought, or simply to be acknowledge by Gamefreak. Like I'd love if you could battle Gold, Brendan and Lucas (Gen 2 to Gen 4 protagonists) since their games are more than 12 years old, there's nostalgia for these generations.
You can blame Ash for that, the devs made Red so prominant in the manga and games so people would stop mixing him up with Ash and assume they are the same person.
I disagree with you. Like other comments have said: leave out Arcanine in and put in Espeon. Yeah it's relatively low level, but if memory serves correctly you've made exceptions in the past and "added" on a levels for other Pokemon on a best team.

I want to see Thorton or Noland next. Now I know these two don't have any signature pokemon because of what facilities they run.... But that's what's so great about them. He could either give them a ridiculously strong team since their teams are random everytime you fight them, or he could use Masters and say their peak potential "team" is just one mon, or make a short video that says it's redundant to give them a team when they don't have signature pokemon if he doesn't want to count Masters. There's so much potential for comedy here!

6:53: 4 Different options* Something that you forgot is if you participate in the battle tree in single battles, in the 20th battle you'll face Red and there's a possibility that his Blastoise is holding the Blastoinite. I still agree with the best team that you gave it, but maybe Mega Blastoise would be an honorable mention.

Looking back, I feel as if Red should’ve had access to all Kanto Pokémon (barring Mew). Completing the Pokedex made it so that he has access to all fully evolved forms of Kanto and Johto, given he has an Espeon. The only legendaries he would have would be: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo. This is given that these four cannot be found in the original Johto games, meaning Red has them.
Excellent video. Wasn't Red credited with catching all 151 in the original manga? I'm aware that this is about his game appearances but, it is an interesting consideration.
Charizard to start. Tyranitar with Sand Stream up next. Then it's a Shiny Suicune... He totally would. Snorlax comes out with Leftovers for bulk. Dragonite with Swords Dance and Extremespeed and finally....Mewtwo. Not just ordinary Mewtwo but he Mega Evolves it into to a Mewtwo Y. Red has caught all 150 Pokemon and maybe even all 151 in Kanto so who knows if he has almost caught them all by now. He can vary that team with probably who tf ever he wants.
I'm surprised you didn't mention his Pokemon Stadium 2 appearance in this. Not that it would matter in the end thinking about it, but it's just a thought.

I wish they would make Red into the legit hardest boss in the game maybe level with lvl 100s as his Pokemon if you really pushed him to his limits. It's a real shame that Red; arguably the strongest trainer, will always get beaten by newcomers to the series since we no longer play as Red.
I respect Cynthia more, but Red is by far, my favourite trainer and champion. That first battle in Gold on Mt. Silver was just a master stroke on the ending of an already phenomenal game.
Red was never defeated so what I think is that he wanted to finde someone able to beat him because red has a lot of type advantages on Ethan/kris so he was never defeated because I confirmed Ethan/Irish's team
Including Pokémon Home, all of Red’s team is available in Sword and Shield. But until then, Venusaur and Blastoise can be replaced by Pikachu and Lapras.
Actually, there's no confirmation that Ethan/Krys/Lyra defeated Red. Red doesn't talk and the others haven't been made into NPCs yet, so it's all up for debate. Even Bulbapedia doesn't confirm a winner.
@Noah zzstu Smith Again, there's no canonical evidence, even on Bulbapedia. The battle might not even have happened, since it's post game and Blue never mentions it (he of all people would know about the battle)

Espeon should take arcanine's place, don't need 2 fire types on a team, team doesn't otherwise have psychic typing, magic bounce is highly useful for protecting charizard and frankly espeon is a better option than Pikachu overall, nothing wrong with Pikachu, just not really needed on team when all its type advantages are covered by venusaur's and blastoise's grass and ice moves respectively
ivanbluecool in the manga Red’s first Pokémon was a poliwag he found near a pound in pallet town when he was very young a few years later he got bulbasuar from prof oak

I feel like “true power” should be a series based on a gym leaders most op custom team involving the strongest Pokémon from their specific type.. not.. Pokémon they already use??
Unfortunately that series would be over quickly, as you could only do a maximum of 18 episodes/trainers given that there are 18 types. It's intended to be based on the trainers themselves, not just the best monotype teams, y'know?
