I would love to see you do the trainers in this order: 1st gym leaders of all regions in order (kanto, johto, hoenn, sinnoh, etc) 2nd gym leaders of all regions, then 3rd, 4th etc. until we hit the Elite 4, then repeat for the elite 4. It might get stale if we go through ALL of gen1 at a time, then ALL of gen2, etc.
Alexander Tsynkov Not necessarily. That team only has five Pokémon, and he appeared in the PWT, so he might have some other Pokémon that would be better. Also, he can appear in the Battle Agency in the same game. Whether this appearance counts or not is up to discretion, but those Pokémon can go up to 100
I highly support the TRUE POWER series!!! It's something I've never seen in any Poketuber and the analysis is done is AWESOME. Please keep it up!!! Greetings from Argentina!!!
In Pokémon Stadium 2, Misty had a Togetic on her team in honor of it's appearance in the anime. Too bad they didn't include it in the main games ☹️ Nice video by the way!
In Pokémon Stadium 1 rematch, Misty had an Exeggutor & Dugtrio. In Pokémon Stadium 2, Misty had a Sunflora. In the rematch, Misty had Wigglytuff, Nidoqueen, Ampharos, Dragonair & Politoed.
Oh yeah, I was surprised when I saw Togetic on her team! I thought it was going to Evolve in the Johto Series. *Waited until Hoenn* Now I wished she had Togekiss!
I think you shouldn't stress so much about the smogon tiers. Smogon tiers assume that the person playing potentially has access to any pokemon in and below the tier used. With a lot of these characters only using one type of pokemon, their viability in the monotype smogon format is much more important. Yes, Jellicent is PU, but in monotype it's a solid C rank and its ghost typing is unique among water types.
Jellicent is that good because it has no Grass weakness right? Edit: I just looked it up and Jellicent is mostli C Rank because it is a great defensive ghost type for Scald immunity. Not sure how viable it is in a water team.
I also wish he wasn't stressing about the level each Pokémon was at. It's a pretty superficial reason to discard a Pokémon, and has nothing to do with how good each of her respective Pokémon are. It'd be a lot smarter to either assume level parity, or just assume a level sync would be in effect. As it is, now I have to walk away from this video wondering if Jellicent is ACTUALLY supposed to be on this team or not.
Agreed. Jellicent was OU in gen 5 for a reason, and even if it's in PU now, it's not necessarily a bad Pokemon. It mostly depends on the tier's mons, since Gen 5 was full of fighting types and rain, Jellicent was an excellent pick. It's not usable in OU since a lot of the tier's mons can neutrally hit it, however I'm sure that it still has utility in UU.
For Lance, he's gonna most likely have Dragonite (Lv. 75 HG/SS), Garchomp (Lv. 72 HG/SS), Salamence (Lv. 72, HG/SS), Hydreigon (Lv. 64+, B2/W2), Haxorus (Lv. 66+ B2/W2), and Charizard with Charizardite X (Lv. 68, HG/SS, LGP!). Other options include Aerodactyl, Gyarados, Flygon, Kingdra, and Alolan Exeggutor. Plus a crapton more if you count his Pokemon Stadium teams.
@@TheRicoBentley Nope. He's always been billed as a Dragon expert. AFAIK he's the only one in RBY that used Dragonair or Dragonite, and the only one to use Dragonite in GSC. He also had three of them. The only issue is that there was only one line of Dragon-types in Gen 1, amd the only one added in Gen 2 was used by a gym leader. That's why his team is filled out with dragon-like Pokemon in those games, and later games give him a crapload more.
Imagine if Misty were champion of the Kanto region and the story revolved mostly around her. I would buy that game in a heartbeat. She is my favorite human character in Pokemon afterall.
I have to say, when I clicked the thumbnail of the Cynthia video, I wasn’t expecting anything much, if anything at all, but boy was I proved wrong. This series is well made and well put together, and I look forward to the rest of the series!!
The Pokémon world tournament was my favorite facility for this exact reason. All the gym leaders had stepped it up and gotten really powerful Pokémon on their team. It was so fun battling against all of them I remember how cool it was seeing Misty, Erika, and Blaine with the Kanto starters
Glad to see the return of True Power. I’m glad you acknowledged Misty’s Gyarados Mega evolving in the anime but since it never did so in the games it’s a little iffy on whether it counts or not. I’d love to see Lance get covered next, he had a wide array of Pokémon over the generations. Great video, my friend!
If you have to pick one other Kanto gym leader for this series, I'd like Giovanni or maybe Koga. I'd also like a series on ordering all the masters of each type from weakest to strongest.
I want to see Misty catch a Swampert, Empoleon, and also a Primarina when we see her next in the Pokemon games! Misty and Sabrina are my two Favorite Gen 1 Pokemon Gym Leaders!
I think it'd be awesome, and make the most sense if we do every gym leader in order. So next would be Lt. Surge. Plus with Giovanni, we knock out 2 birds with one stone.
if misty was a digimon tamer, she should have the ultimate aquatic digimon,Leviamon!ICE CLUSTERS!ETERNAL SLEEP!MEGA TSUNAMI!ETERNAL ABYSS!I LOVE MISTY BY THE WAY!
You could get an Oddish or Bellsprout in RGY before fighting Misty. Go left after Nugget Bridge towards Cerulean Cave. Oddish comes with Absorb and Bellsprout with Vine Whip
I LOVE this video, and this series. Misty is my favorite, but my second and third are Morty and Flannery. I eagerly await to the next video. Thank you for making these.
I would love to see Sword and Shield have a "type master" wing in the endgame battle spot/battle tower. Wouldn't that be cool? Pick your favorite type, breed a team with every member having that type, and take on other random type teams and see how long your team lasts. Yes eventually you could get hard countered, but there's ways to cover weaknesses (i.e. you have a poison team and come up against a psychic team so you have a poison/dark pokemon like Alolan Muk). Idk I think it'd be fun even though it'd be really hard to even win 10 matches.
you should do the order of all gym leaders to have appeared in the games. i LOVE these videos just because it shines light on things many pokemon fans don't even know about. Keep up the solid work.
I think you aren't accounting for breeding when you're looking at minimum levels for some of the Pokemon. For example, Water Spout can be bred onto a Frillish, meaning the Jellicent could be as low as level 40.
The first time I reached her in Red I had no idea how speed worked and assumed that the player always went first, and every time she went first I would rage because I legit thought the game was cheating 😂
Make Red's true power Including his 6 Pokémon in Gold/Silver and Crystal His Brand new Lapras from the remakes And his 2 Brand new Pokémon at Lets GO You might include his Pokémon from the origins anime as well
Don't forget the Trading Card game! There are the Gym Heroes and Gym Challenge sets. Misty has Tentacool in the set and Togepi in the TV show... just from the top of my head. Cool info!
Honourable mentions: Pokémon Stadium 1 Round 2: Exeggutor, Seadra (Evolve into Kingdra in gen 2 onwards) & Dugtrio. Pokémon Stadium 2: Togetic (Evolve into Togekiss in gen 4 onwards) & Sunflora. Pokémon Stadium 2 Round 2: Wigglytuff, Nidoqueen, Ampharos, Dragonair (Evolve into Dragonite) & Politoed.
I know this is extremely late, but I want to point out that Frillish can learn Water Spout at level 49 in Gen 5, making the Jellicent placement so high up a bit questionable. Not impossible that she evolved Frillish early, but just questionable. I felt it worthy to note just in case if/when you do Fantina's True Power team, considering she has a similar issue. Keep up the good work on this series :)
Honestly I think you should include the Pokemon Stadium 1/2 teams in these videos, they provide so much diversity to the early gym leaders. For example giving Misty her Ampharos, Nidoqueen or Politoed to work with.
Just started watching. Pretty cool series. Also, love the Kingdra in your avatar. Kingdra's my favorite Pokemon so it's nice to see someone else give him some love.
Do Jasmine next. She only had a variety of 2 pokemon in her original battle so that would be interesting. Also think it's worth mentioning gym leader teams from Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2.
In the anime there's not a set order to face gyms. So I’d imagine that each gym leader has specific Pokémon trained for the amount of badges a trainer has.
Pre-evolutions of Blastoise can learn Hydropump earlier, so lvl 60+ is not fully confirmed. Don't know about the other moves, but just assuming that is a bit premature. This applies to other fully-evolved Pokemons on the team, too
I would love to see the characters displayed in these videos to be compared to the champion of their region. Because it seems like in some cases it seems like these guys could become champions on their own. Great work though. Really liked the video :)
Good video, just a problem though: It's true that Blastoise can learn Hydro Pump at lv 60, but Wartortle can learn it at lv 49 and Squirtle at lv 40. So it's possible to have a Blastoise who knows Hydro Pump at lv 41 if you don't let it evolve for some time.
Not many people know but in canon gym leaders pick the Pokemon they use based on how many badges you have. In HGSS after you beat the game you could get all the gym leaders phone numbers and rematch against their 8 badge teams.
I've been using water types for over 20 years,I think the jellicent or blastoise need to be switched out for swanna, more so jellicent if that blastoise is mega, great episode though ^_^
I'd love to see the True Power of Whitney's strongest team next time! She's one of the most infamous gym leaders so I'm sure you'll do her at somepoint
Hey, I hate her Miltank too, but at least you can get a Machop in Goldenrod. Clair is worse! You think that you can use some of the Ice types found in the Icey Path right outside of Blackthorn, but on her team are Gyarados and her signature Kingdra. The worst part is, you can't get access to the one place where you can get a Dragon type until AFTER you beat her!
Great video! I have a suggestion though. I'm not a huge fan of paying that much attention to the levels of their Pokemon. If we're going by competitive, why not set them all to level 50 or 100? Other than that, I really like this series, keep it up!
Two things: First thanks that you used Misty's adult form from her HG/SS appearance in the thumbnail instead of just using her most recent artwork. To see her as an adult fits this series way better. Second: I hope someone hacks together a "True Power Tournament" (or maybe do it with a lot of Wi-Fi teams?) as soon as you are done with a region. As we already got Brock and Misty I guess it's time for a Surge I guess. ;) I honestly think that the Kanto and maybe Hoenn Leaders are the most interesting for this series, given we saw them battle quite some times and even without any inhibitions against Champions. I think going chronologically (and throw in a random surprise every now and then, most likely Champions and Elite Four Members, maybe even rivals) is the best approach as well because it could very well happen that we have new Johto Battles soon with Let's Go Johto likely becoming a thing in the (over) next year. Also True Power made me subscribe. ^^
Nice! I subscribed for this and I was waiting for more! I'd like to choose one of my favorites gym leaders like volkner or elesa, but I'd like to see them in order, brock and misty done now it's time for the war veteran LT. Surge
I want to see wally, does his best team match up with his or/as rematch team? Level 1 cottonee has a chance against that team, especially since roserade, his best counter, is his lead.
