What is a Stage 1 ECU Remap? Which Remap should you go with? Welcome to another video where we explain what tuning is and specifically what is a stage 1 tune? This is a video for beginners who just want to get into the tuning space but we are sharing our 2 cents on Stage 1, Stage 2 , Stage 3 tuning. I have taigun 1.0 tsi 2021 model. It sucks when it comes to drive it at low RMP in steep slopes and whenever i need to halt it for a while and again start thereon, it fails. And similarly when it comes to reverse the car in downward slope, it just cant do it. So, i need you guys to suggest something to make the low rpm feel drivable.

Great content! I have a standard 2L scirocco sportline. Will stage 1 change the sound of exhaust? What exhaust would you recommend for scirocco to add a little bit more sound but not too much. Thanks!:D

Thank you for your comment. A stage 1 tune will not change the sound of your exhaust. For exhaust recommendations, if you would like to stay at stage 1 then go for a catback which will add some great sound without too much work. If you are planning to go stage 2 you can also go for a downpipe upgrade.

Hello , so firstly I think we should start off by identifying what are you tuning your car for , i.e. more torque, more horsepower, etc. ? Then you can decide the map accordingly but ideally something on the more price friendly end you could consider a code6 tune or a superchips tune

Heyy Jasper, thank you for reaching out , so nice to see you set off on your tuning/modifications journey. Coming directly to your question, the production of pops and crackles involves igniting fuel within the exhaust system. In situations where a catalytic converter is installed, such pops and bangs/crackles can potentially damage the converter over time or lead to blockages. Opting for a decat setup would be preferable in our opinion.

Yes it will be possible to do, but ideally you should go to a local workshop and check the health of your car, in general your timing belts, spark plugs, coils etc. It's a great engine though!

Hey Trilokh , so depending on what brand do you want to go for and which city/area you're doing it in, it shall vary in terms of pricing but you could look at a price range of approx 23k upto 50-60k also , power gains will be quite significant especially doing a stage 1 but it also depends on what you're looking for in the stage 1 i.e. you want more torque you want more hp etc

Hey man, look it totally depends on your budget. The options you have are definitely good but are you looking to own a diesel or a petrol car? The Superb you mentioned is Diesel. Laura us definitely a good option very tuner friendly car. If you get a good used one definitely go for it. 1.8tsi Petrol would be better.

Hello Hayden , No ideally for these upgrades you do not necessarily need to tune your car, you can do these upgrades on its own. But, to best utilize the hardware components for maximum efficiency and optimize the output of these upgrades its best to tune it too with it.

Hey boss ! So glad to hear you're joining the tuning world ! So to start off decide what kinda price budget you're working with , see the condition of the car you have at hand i.e. tyres , engine , gearbox , brakes, suspension etc... Once all that is checked then move on to stage 1 tune + exhaust then you can consider getting better tyres and brakes if that's not done already and move on. Ahead from there

Hi, that's a great car! It will sound amazing with a swapped exhaust. Catback is basically you switch the exhaust behind your catalytic converter. Catless exhaust is also called de-cat/straight pipe, which is basically when you remove your catalytic converter and this is the loudest.

Are you sure it's the 2.0 TFSI? If it's 2.0liter it must be diesel, if it's petrol then it must be a 1.4 liter. But yes along with a stage 1 you could go for an intake and exhaust (only if petrol).

Totally depends on the year of the car but you could get around 15% increase in power.

Cost would vary upon which tune you are choosing and where you are getting it done from but approx market standards avg can be assumed as 10-16k for a stage 1 tune only and you can go all out but that's again on your budget and choice we prefer to do it slowly so that we can understand the car better through each upgrade

Hello Mike , Yes stage 2 particularly means that it is modified and more for performance , about insurance can't say directly especially what type of insurance coverage and with whom and tuner etc , usually modifications can fly under the radar it wouldn't have anything to do with performace gain mods

You can definitely do it but considering its that old you should get it checked by a professional to make sure it can handle the tune and especially whether the ECU is tunable. If not you may need to consider chip tuning.

Hello Akash , thank you so much for your feedback, really appreciate it , about the stage 1 tuning and their issues , it's always on how you take care of the car and how you drive it , issues can come to the engine even if you don't tune it but yes tuning it only to unlock potential of the engine and not pushing it beyond that is very important so it depends how and where you tune it from and how you drive your car and push the limits

Not too sure , dont really have that much information on this particular car for tuning but do check out quantum tuning we believe they did have an ecu tune for the older santro , so you do have a chance with them of having the tune , if not always feel free to hit them up and ask them if its possible , believe that will be your best direction to head in.

Hello , haha no you are absolutely right people do not just tune German cars but people tune al sort of cars some do tune Indian cars too , German cars at times have more tuning bandwidths and they are favs for people to modify with because they have so many options to work on for it along with parts since cars are available across the globe. but we will surely cover some Indian tuned car soon when we come across a great build.
