This video is from my performance workshop at the 2021 Gilmore KeysFest. The subject of the workshop is "What is Stage Charisma? How to Communicate with Your Audience." This video was filmed virtually with audience participation.
In the third part of this workshop, I discussed about stage communication with a live audience through stage presence, programming ideas, stage fright management and tips that can help you present your very best on the stage.

I have learned a very good lesson that helps me deal with different types of disruptions I've experienced in performance or sharing a piece of music. "Nerves" is not the only disrupting influence. There is also "excitement" (a positive feeling that perhaps you are happy to be about to go on stage, or you are happy the first movement went exceptionally well, but this too, can be distracting and lead to errors, as I have found). The third thing is "distraction" -- as from a cell hone ringing just at the quiet part, or becoming aware in the moment that your piano teacher, or some pianist more famous or inspired or proficient than you, is in the front row or sitting on the piano bench with you, listening. How do you then re-focus quickly on the music at hand? Might you think on these distinctions and how each relates to your experience, and perhaps suggest some strategies to deal with the latter two? Thank you for your wonderfully engaging personality and teacher and performer, and encouragement!
