Honda Civic with a few simple mods would have been my choice They're incredibly cheap to maintain and modify. Strip out the interior and throw on a super charger and you have an easily tossable car with an excellent power to weight ratio. Quality coilovers and sticky tires to get that power down. Plus supporting and reliability mods, obviously. My buddy couldn't keep up with one in his V8 Mustang and he puts down better laptimes than people in 700hp Shelbys and Corvettes.

Hey guys, awesome idea! It reminds me of the Car Throttle "The Ultimate Lexus IS 200 Track Build" series and I loved it! But if your budget allows, you should buy definitely a second car as a contender for the Clio. I think the E36/E46 or the EP3 would be fastest on track and the BMWs for sure the most fun. Additionally it would be great to have a competition between FWD and RWD for a budget track car. PS: Why are cars in UK so cheap?! In Germany and the USA you have to spend over 5k for a 330i or a Type R!

You made the right choice guys. You could also check the Megane F7R or Xsara VTS which would be the 2 cheapest car of your list. The Megane's f F7R is a legendary engine. You can easily get like 200hp with out turbo'ing it.

Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport was a good choice in its day - basically a VW Polo with a Golf GTi engine.

built an Audi track car once, 820kg, 850 bhp, 912bhp in qualifying mode. it went round corners like an F1 car. it would only cost £40k today. be hard to see what you could buy new for that, and actually beat it....so everyone should build an Audi Super Tourer and forget the rest.

I've been involved building a couple of 182 cups, but the gearboxes are chocolate ..... You have been warned 😂, Honda would be my choice of the 2 - plenty of tuning available and a whole lot tougher, I'd always go for a Bmw though, rear wheel goodness

Should’ve been probably the only people to have track prepped A Dacia had you chose it ha and depending on track you use, handling is a better factor anyways.
