We are based in North Wales and manage around 150 colonies of bees, plus nucleus colonies.
We produce Great Taste Award winning honey and sell nucleus colonies to members of the public.
Our 6 frame overwintered nucleus colonies sell out very fast every year so early ordering is advisable.
www.blackmount...
We supply F1 Mated Buckfast and Jolanta Queens throughout the season. The UK Mated Jolanta Queens are reared using genetics used by the UK's biggest bee farmer - Murray McGregor - and are not available to general public, except through resellers like us! Check out our queens page on our website.

We are passionate about beekeeping and really enjoy helping beekeepers through our RU-vid channel.
On our channel you can find information on making splits with swarm cells, making increase with queen cells, grafting larvae, foulbrood and disease inspection, honey extraction and machinery, top tips for beginners, products reviews, instructions and guidance plus much more.
#NO NONSENSE BEEKEEPING is a UK based beekeeping channel, designed to keep beekeeping as simple and enjoyable as possible. There are no overly complicated techniques or intricate pieces of equipment.
We cover all beekeeping topics ranging from queen rearing, disease recognition/control, honey extraction, swarm management/collection, how to make splits and much more!
My personal favourite aspects of beekeeping are selecting queens for rearing, rearing queens for mating, making up nucs for overwintering and collecting swarms.
We aim to bridge the gap between commercial and hobbyist beekeepers and cater for beekeepers of all experience levels.
No matter what your level of experience, please hit the subscribe button and join us on our journey!

I use they long cuff in any color and put the lighter thinner short cheaper blue ones over the top. The two layers help as often the bees only penetrate the first layer. Can then remove and replace the outer glove periodically or even between hives. Reuse the long cuffs until they tear.

I really like the gloves that Gruffydd sells. Nice tight long cuff. Orange...a bit garish but not black.

Great video. If you want to keep the cuffs tight then you can use elastic bands folded over on each wrist. Works well for me!!!

Gloves are a pain, I've been doubling up on blue nitrile and get the odd sting. Don't mind the initial sting, it's the 2 days of itchy swollen skin that does me, not nice!

My favorite gloves are glove free! maybe i'm spoiled, my bees really aren't mean during the summer (i do take some stings, usually my fault for squishing one) but i get a better feel of what i'm doing if i can feel where they are crawling around, or if i'm about to squish down on one. during the fall pulling supers though, they do get a bit testy, and its like that for everyone, so i do put on the gloves then.

I use orange nitrile gloves and bees seem fine with them, they are a tad short on the cuffs mind you. Ignite nitrile examination gloves is the model I think made by Aurelia

I've discovered that they will still sting you through the blue nitrile gloves. It's also a bit disgusting the amount of sweat that pours out of them.

We wear thin cotton gloves under to cope with the sweat, enough feel still for most things, still get stung through them sometimes but think the combination diminishes the effect.

@alaefarmestatesllc
@alaefarmestatesllc 2 года назад
@@polmacbradaigh9506 as someone who also raises bees, these nasty hives just sometimes happen no matter what you do to prevent having these types of hive. In cases with aggressive hives we just pinch the queen, come back 8 days later with a newly mated queen. Or just put a cell in there if you have one after pinching the queen. 99% of the time this solves the problem. You raise bees enough, you will come across your fair share of angry hives. No way around it. I work with just a vail/vented jacket most of the times and sometimes on school breaks I have my youngest with me helping with bee chores. So I have a no tolerance policy to aggressive hives. I get what you’re saying tho, he does seem to have a lot of aggressive hives.
