What is the best indie animated show?

Gotta love Kovach voicing in 4 of six shows. (Edit) This comment gets funnier to think about in the time passing, as with almost every other indie animation, there is a new Kovach role.

I think Helluva Boss is what saved Hazbin Hotel. If Helluva Boss was never made, a lot of the fanbase might have lost interest waiting too long for Hazbin Hotel to release. Also the funding for the show was helped big time with Helluva Boss' marketing sales from Sharkrobot. Personally I love both and can't wait for Hazbin Hotel in January!

Lackadaisy is just pure gold

Indie animation enjoyers will see a single pilot episode and call it their favourite series

it sometimes upsets me how much people forget eddsworld. it's the first major indie animated show that's still going today. it paved the way for all of these.

Murder drones has to be my favorite out of all these because of the action and how well the humor is timed. Also N is just a amazing character.

The reason why Lackadaisy is a good show is becuse they showing the emotions so good and its super cool animated. But Murder Drones is still a good show too.

I think ENA is an indie jewel. Nothing I've seen in media looks like it and I love it.

The insane amount of detail put into the Lackadaisy comic blows me away

Lackadaisy is beautiful. You can see the love and effort put into the story, animation, and so on. It's based on the webcomic, the creator said it's sort of a "pocket dimension", where it's standalone and strays from the original material to an extent, but it's still the same plot and characters. The attention to detail is absolutely amazing, even instruments being animated properly(Example: Rocky's violin in the very beginning) They act really human while retaining their cat-like reactions to situations, and each character is interesting. I actually want to try to apply for their animation team when I turn 18 :) I 100% think you were right to put that at the top. I love Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel as well, depictions of the sins being fresh and new. Despite the controversies and hatred towards them and Vivziepop, I really do appreciate the work and passion put into the story, world, and music. The animation is smooth, and I personally enjoy gathering smear frames from Helluva Boss episodes. They're hilarious. The Amazing Digital Circus is great, but I think I need more before I can really break it down too much. The animation is primarily just experimenting and goofing around - animators and writers are given freedom to do as they please, and it just makes it that much better to watch. The story has so much potential! As a long-time fan of Gooseworx, I have hope in the show. Murder drones clearly has a lot of care put into it, but the story can be tricky to follow in your first watch through. It's certainly not for everyone either, but it does deserve love. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I do enjoy the animation. There's a lot of talented/skillful people working on it! I have yet to see Monkey Wrench, unfortunately.

I like that there’s no “bad” tier here. I’m so glad we’re seeing this much indie animated content. Even if a show isn’t for me I have to respect how much work goes into something like this.

You're pretty brave to openly say you like Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, given how a lot of people on the internet like to bully and harass people for liking stuff they don't like.

Definitely recommend watching ENA. It’s a masterpiece and a game (or more of an interactive episode im not sure how it would be classified) is in the works so there’s a bunch to look forward to in the future

You got me obsessed with Lackadaisy, it is now my favorite.

Lackadaisy was so cool! The animation was good, the style is nice, the voice acting was awesome, and it’s a cool and different story I personally haven’t seen all that much.

My favorite is definitely Murder drones

I’m surprised nobody’s commenting about monkey wrench, I get it’s sorta the outlier here but hands down zeurel did amazing animating for the shows first episode, and episode two was amazing. I hope more people give it recognition as soon as the first episode dropped I was hooked. It might take a long time for an episode to come out, but it’s really quality over quantity, and it makes the build up to each episode so much more hype! The character’s interact amazingly together in the first episode, all the characters acted like they’ve meet each other before (Cause I think most of them have). Also please check out playground! It’s a horror 2d animation show and it’s amazing! Currently there’s only a trailer though, but trust me that trailer is all you need, The monster designs are so creepy.

For me Murder drones is amazing because it takes a more dark and serious tone to the story and is funny when you look at the background in episode 1

My favourite is Murder Drones tbh- It just has everything I love in a show. Which makes it my currently favourite show! And pretty much the only thing I've been thinking about since August is Murder Drones. My anxiety for ep. 7 & 8 is over the roof, I love this show so much that I don't want it to end but at the same time I can't wait-

As a md fan it is relatable I had to rewatch the episodes to fully understand

OMG FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS MY MURDER DRONES CONFUSION. I am AWFUL with names, so since all of the characters are similar it makes it hard for me to remember them.

One show I think you should try is Disventure Camp. Its a fan tribute to Total Drama, and the characters are amazing

The thing i love about lackadaisy is the fact you can see the base sketch over the characters (idk if there is more than the pilot atm)

In terms of animation quality, Lackadaisy can't be beat imo, like murder drones has amazing lighting and stuff, but I just love that detailed 2D animation so much.

I like all of them, but man, Monkey Wrench (while not being my all-favorite) it's honestly under-appreciated. I feel like out of all the indie animated shows out there, this one is like a hidden gem. Glad it actually gets recognition.
