Design wise from the Back, the iPhone 5,5S and SE are imo the best design phones in history, Period This is another example of Apple very will focused with Design and detail
iPhone X is my personally favorite I’ve never owned one I had the XS in space gray and silver. Now I have an 11 Pro in Space gray and I still like the X/XS better than the pro design. The 5S was such a revolutionary phone and is a close second for me. Thank you for this video! Much appreciated!
I actually really like the way the 11 pro feels, its my new favorite design. The frosted glass and weight distribution makes it feel like a very solid phone. While you could say this about other iphones, I think the frosted glass adds another level of a premium feeling. While I liked the 5s/SE design as a close second, they feel too light and I like the feeling of a heavier phone, if that makes sense. If you think I am biased towards the 11 pro, I use a Galaxy S9 lol.
I love the design of the iPhone X, it has the best dual camera module imo. I just love how the cameras, flash and mic are all in the camera bump unlike the iPhone 7 and 8 Plus. The symmetrical speakers on the bottom also looks great and the symmetrical bezels on the front (minus notch) is the best looking screen I have seen yet.
The 2017 iPhone X is my absolute FAVORITE designed iPhone ever. I think the way it looks is absolutely gorgeous. The way the glass on the backs of the iPhone X/XS gold and silver shimmer and shine like you’re looking at a dream, but the stainless steel frame and the front of the phone looks so futuristic, even now in 2020 I still think the iPhone X looks like you’re looking into the future. I love the camera module on the back how it is positioned and how it’s actually such an attractive looking camera. This is definitely my overall view on which is my favorite and why it’s my favorite ^^ btw I own an iPhone XR coral, so the x isn’t my phone but I’d love to own one just to have it as a beautiful collection item.
I never had the 5/5s/SE but always lusted after them. I had/have the 4, which I think people really underestimate. I just held mine in my hands again a few months ago to use as an iPod and my gawd it’s so stunning!!! I can honestly say it’s more gorgeous than the 5/5s/SE now 😌
I wish you had got into more depth about the other design elements of these phones besides just the materials. For example, one reason why I love the 5/5S/SE design is because if the straight edge design that allowed me to stand it up right, as well as the flat camera design.
The iPhone 5s hands down. I still use my original 5s from 2013 today after putting in an 1850 mah battery and it lasts just as long as my 8plus. It looks so good and feels amazing in the hands.
If the iPhone 12 getting the iPhone 4/5’s squarish Design turned out to be true, and if you had included the ‘boxy but bezel-less’ iPhone 12 in this competition (after its release), that phone would’ve gotten overwhelming votes.
I picked 5/5S/SE & 6/6S. I picked 6/6S over 7/8 due to the fact that the 6/6S had aluminum backs over glass which means they were less prone to breaking. The antenna bands don’t bother me too much but looking back they do look somewhat tacky. The 5/5S/SE just makes sense. It fits in the hand well and it introduced the 16:9 ratio which seemed very logical to go with in 2012.
I like the 5c design. The size is just right. I like the polycarbonate material they used. The neon colors matches the black front glass. It’s simple and light. I think, if not because of its price, 5c won’t be a flop
My favourites are the 5s/SE, the 8/8Plus and the 6/6Plus/6s/6sPlus. If I was a designer at Apple (but I think I‘d get fired very fast lol), then I‘d mix all the designs. I’d take the 5s/SE back design, I‘d put 4 camera lenses on the back (but looking like the 8 Plus lenses, like the 8 Plus lenses, but doubled and all together in some sort of rounded square, but not too big, I don‘t really like oversized camera lenses). I‘d choose the front of the 8 Plus (so the phone has the size of the 8 Plus) with the homebutton and the big bezels. But probably also a version without homebutton and big bezels. I wanted to keep the homebutton because I really like it. I find it aethetic and for me, it’s more comfortable to use than Face ID. I want to have a big phone, but not a big screen (I know that’s weird, but yeah). Oh, and I‘d bring the headphone jack back since so many people miss it, Btw, I have an 8+ in (rose)gold. 😅 And one of my friends has an SE 1 in gold. 😅 But when I bought my phone first, I looked at all the iPhones available. I could‘ve gotten an 10(s) or 11(Pro), but I choose the 8+ because of it’s gorgeous design. 🥰🤩💖
Honestly, I never did like the 5/5S design. It just felt like a stretched version of the 4/4S but with some aluminum. I actually really like the design of the 6/6S because it just felt so unique and I don't mind the antenna bands much but my pick for best design would be the 11 Pro. I actually chose the Galaxy S4 in 2013 because I was never crazy about the 5/5S and the design of those and imo, the Galaxy S4 just made a better device, more power and a genuinely massive screen for the time, plus the removable back was a huge plus and it looked amazing in red.
The SE had that perfect balance of small size, 64 bit and headphone jack. I had to replace it a few months ago after it took a nasty tumble and hated having the bulky 8 in my pocket. I also liked palming my phone when running, which made the SE ideal. I could easily check the screen to see my heart rate or GPS location without having to fumble around with a bulky object.
MY TOP 5: not necessarily in exact order but TOP 5 1. 5S. Not 5c or 5, Touch ID iPhone 5 = sexiest. 2. 11 PRO MAX (🖤 or 🤍) 3. iPhone X. 4. iPhone XR (Coral🧡 or Blue 💙) 5. MY iPhone 11. (I have Black but White is storm trooper sexy) My LIST is close to most people’s choices. I love Apple and I want to work at their stores since my Dad did. I want to make it in the Music Industry but until then catch me @ Apple Stores 💪🏼
I think some people are either too young to remember or didn't have an iPhone when the 4/4s launched. Pictures and videos can't really show how absolutely gorgeous those phones were, they looked like jewels, especially the black version.
I've used the 4S, 5S (and SE), XS, and XR. I would love to see a 5.5' iPhone 12 with the iPhone 4 design! That would be epic, and absolutely perfect for one-handed use.
6/6S got so many votes cause many people have/has it. What's most familiar people tend to like. For me it's 4/4S in white - when you see it now - even after 10 years it's beautiful classy design that feels good to hold as it's not light for example as 5/5S/SE
My favorite iPhone disgn: 1. iPhone 8 2. iPhone XR 3. iPhone 7 4. iPhone 5,5s,SE 5. iPhone 4 I don't know why but I really like the look of the 8 and the XR has many colors and the one Camara in the back looks good than the 3 on the 11 pro. The 7 is also very good because of the Aluminium body so only the Screen can brake and its really easy to repare. The 5 and the 4 because they feel premium and so small and thats nice! And Im hyped for the SE 2020 (or iPhone 9 how any also call it)
I loved the iPhone 4/5 series but was still using Android then.. when the first se came out, I took it as a sign and switched. I held onto that phone for four years and recently got the new one. It feels Huge in comparison! I would have kept my first se for another year or two if it hadn't been the 16gb version..
I would love the next iPhone to have the aluminum chamfered sides and flat glass like the 5/5s/SE. Imagine how gorgeous this design would be with a 6.something inch screen.
My Top 5 Designs: iPhone X/Xs space grey iPhone 5s/SE iPhone 7 jet black/ iPhone 8 gold iPhone 11 Pro silver/ night green iPhone XR (because of the colors)
I really like the iPhone XR design 1. The plain and simplistic look by having only 1 camera 2. The glass back with vibrant colours compared to the 5c being plastic 3. The full screen design 4. People usually hate the notch but I personally like it a lot cuz it kinda resembles apple 5. The PERFECT size for my tiny hands. It’s not too big to hold in my hands and the screen is not too small thanks to the full screen design If you can’t tell already, the iPhone XR is my favourite phone from apple
SE had a great design. I have an 8 now and I’m planning on buying the 12 whenever it comes out but if another 5 design comes out I’d definitely buy it since I think it’s the best design
4S was when apple got the speed aspect down that phone got so many updates before it really slowed down. The 5S though.... was the best looking/most revolutionary phone.
I think the 7 & 8 plus are good simply cause the screen size made the big bezels look less outrageous and it was still comfy while the back had the cool dual cameras
I chose the 6/6s not only because that was the iPhone I had, but because it was the best iPhone that still had a headphone jack. A combination of practicality and personal bias. At the time that I bought my used 6s Plus, I absolutely needed a phone with a headphone jack, as my car did and still does require one for listening to music. I really miss having a headphone jack - even now that I've moved on to a new phone, and the response that most people have of "just buy a new car" is ignorant and short-sighted. I also just really like/liked the design of the 6/6s; when I think iPhone, that's what I imagine. Rounded edges, sleek, no frills, and lightweight. Form and function in perfect harmony.
Also, I inherited my boyfriends 7 Plus and I honestly hated it - not just because of the lack of a headphone jack, but it had no storage, overheated a lot, and crashed constantly. I know that this isn't related to the actual form and design, as this pole relates to, but as you touched on in the video, a lot of people were probably influenced by what phones they actually have, and their experiences determined their votes! Great video, I always find these fun :)
my all time favorite iphone is the 5s, i remember seeing it and just being speechless. Unfortunately, I got the 5c, it was an okay phone and i would've taken the regular 5 because the plastic felt cheap. I now have the XS and im very excited for the 12 as it will look like the 5 and be squared off and ill be sure to try to get the pro for the stainless steel
We still have the 5s in black and silver with no dents or scratches on either side with still that brand new look. It's such a classy looking design and the functionality of it is still good, at the time it was used very little and we've just hung on to it as a back up. Right now I wouldn't know how it would work with todays internet.
Man. You have inspired me to think beyond just using iphone. Your videos helped me pick my iPhone 8. Thank you so much for helping me become interested in technology from the inside out.
The iPhone 5S and SE are also somewhat Steve Jobs inspired phones mainly because they reused the body of the 5. Internally they are Tim Cook era but externally they are Steve Jobs era.
