With Season 22 upon us, it's time we jump into Templar to do some damage testing to see where all of our weapons are falling DPS-wise. Here's the detailed results of our damage testing session.

*Keep in mind, Malf is winning because of the interaction with Lucky Pants. Touch though doesn’t require that and the damage is amazing!* Also, everything 1600 or higher does the same damage in this activity.

It’s so hard to truly gauge outbreaks dps.. it scales higher with more people using it but there is also an rng element to how high the damage can scale

Any thoughts on how solar warlock needs some serious reworks? None of the aspects focus on burning or healing. And of the aspects themselves icarus dash can't buildcraft and ToF doesn't change any builds. Unlike ToW which adds stasis crystals and thus stasis crystal fragment/aspect buildcrafting, or ToS which gives lightning nades jolt and thus buildcrafting with at least 1 fragment.

Weapon alone, Malice wins. Weapon plus exotic, most probably Malfeasance. Even after the Overload HC bug gets fixed.

Malfeasance's slug explosion damage doesn't work with Lucky Pants, but overload handcanon makes it for whatever reason. Thats why it hits so high when others dont

For Tommy's, Polaris and Skyburners you'll want most of the team running them just like Outbreak and Ratking. So you can proc as many ignitions as possible due to scorch stacking

I noticed that, it seems at some point, Bungie added extra animations to exotics that didn’t exist before, to give them more style and depth. Merciless now has a billowing fire in the exhaust of its barrel, while Touch of Malice has a sickly green glow around the remnants of Oryx’s cruel, black heart, which matches the eldritch theme of the gun.

For solar weapons that scorch, I think you also want the fragment that makes your ignitions apply scorch, it should get you to your next ignition sooner.

This isn't as much dps as it is total damage over a phase cause if it was dps things jump up and down based on the time like the Seraph pulse

I'm not sure how hard it would be to do, but it would be nice to have the damage number for the weapon that was just tested in red or another color. It is hard to find which weapon was just tested before the video moves on, especially as we get more and more weapons in the list. Great video at any rate!

The sword rework is pretty nice. That 80-95% damage resist from the shield is amazing. I've been using Bequest (for faster grenade cooldown) paired with Renewals for that insane damage resistance.

Final Warning tip: The full shot charge fills up a good second+ before the shot is released if you are just holding down the trigger. If you release the trigger the moment the bar is filled it fires all 10 shots. If talking dps on it, do that on a hunter using Mechaneer's Tricksleeves exotic arms for even more damage. Very nasty combo when swapping to a sidearm while critical and why I run double sidearm on my hunter for master lost sectors. I've had individual bullets from FW crit for 50k on stunned champs that way.

with tether, luckypants will stack its buff with each tethered enemy, if your weapon over penetrates, you can double dip to get max stacks with only a few shots. Obviously this strat is better with a lot of adds around the boss, but I would love to see the numbers

you can effectively quickcharge final warning by charging just until you have the red diamond and then tap-firing really fast, might up the dps just a smidge.

6:31 final warning actually is much faster (maybe even 500 charge time?) if instead of holding lmb and charging until it shoots on its own, charge it until the bar on your buffs fully charges (or until the sides of the gun stop extending outward). charging it until it shoots doesn't give you any more damage than it will when you charge until the bar fills, which charging until it shoots on its own takes significantly longer due to a weird delay between the ADS precision damage maxing and when I fires on its own.

I’m interested on what the damage of malfeasance looks like without luckypants for both overload bug and without. If the damage is better than touch then that would be good to know for warlocks and titans going into the raid.

bug only works for lucky pants, been tested and if u have lucky pants off the bug doesnt proc, the bug makes the slug explosions inherit the damage buff of lucky pants so u need both lucky and the artifact and touch is better dps if u put lucky pants away so id recomend that

Malf does piss damage without the pants. The real dps is coming from the lucky pants exotic perk, malfeasance just happens to be the best HC to use because the explosions get their damage buffed as well

Can you do a sword test with banner of war aspect? I’ve been using Throne Cleaver(Solar Aggressive Frame from defiant engram focusing) flash counter and surrounded with solar surge mods heavy attacks do over 400k damage. Imagine a full fireteam 3=1.2 million damage from one heavy attack 6=2.4 million damage

If they ever buff tricksleeves they should replace the critical health damage boost with the old suprise attack mod that was used for sidearms, maybe they can have it so your side arm consumes your charges of light and converts it into a damage boost, i mean shit they could do something really cool with them and give the exotic a unique animation, maybe you hold reload to do some sort of spring loaded arm holster type of shit consuming your armor changes into a damage boost for the magazine

When in the deep mission on the moon is here you can farm the end after you grab the relic just jump off the bridge and wipe. Takes me about 10-15 minutes to complete primary catalysts.

Top 10 weapons are all in the kinetic slot where I would be running supremacy. Kinda reinforces my idea to use vex alongside supremacy/apex though. I doubt they leave Malfeasance as is. I'm expecting it to get disabled like Grand Overture did for RoN

@3:49 Well, yeah! Of course we'd want to compare between Fourth Times a Charm vs Vorpal weapon. Compulsive Reloader has may have too much down time for a DPS phase.

Tricksleeves should lean into the armor charge system in the same way Feedbacks do - for every Armor Charge stack, your sidearm deals more damage until your next reload or until the weapon is stowed. Killing enemies with weapons other than your sidearm should grant armor charges while a sidearm is equipped. The damage bonus won't be able to stack with surges (for obvious reasons) and should be substantial by comparison for it to be viable and interesting, which could make sidearms strong burst options. In PvP, this could make sidearms behave as special weapons in the right hands.

For crimson, you have to take one shot to get a headshot kill on a red bar. It gives you a full reload and you can get way more damage.

A numbered list most powerful to least powerful primary would be nice. I’m a noob and I don’t know the weapons very well all I know is my osteo striga is the best weapon I’ve come across so far :)

This type of test doesn’t really matter it’s just for fun. Primary weapons you use for small enemies not bosses, just use the ones you like with good perks

@@digiorno1142 also my osteo striga is a beast. It does great for everything except when they have shields but even then if I keep shooting the poison hurts them so it just takes a little less ttk. Osteo is my go to for everything

You should test lucky pants while pulling up our ghost to proc its perk for eve more damage

I know you didn't test it but I think warden's law lucky pants is gonna be a sleeper pick. The 2shot burst plus it can get FTTC and Vorp. It's gonna be nasty

I'm curious to see how Tesselation would work with Starfire protocol with a Well on a raid boss. You pop Well, then shoot your rocket (that has auto-loading) and get your fusion grenade back from that rocket damage (SFP), then you swap to Tesselation and consume the grenade, then shoot(which I don't think uses ammo from the gun so no reloading needed + Tesselation grenade damage does 100k+ flat damage) and by the time you are done consuming the grenade and shooting, your rocket launcher should've already reloaded due to autoloading.
