I think you spreading this info and the birds may save MANY lives as we face these coming times. If my first crack at hatching goes poorly I'm buying from you. 50% guarantee! My only issue is that my incubator cant hold 30 eggs and I don't want to waste them.
Just found your channel. I’ve raised quails since 1990. I’ve used a lot of different incubators. I’ve even built a couple. I wish they had a RU-vid in 1990. I’ve failed plenty. You got a new subscriber 👍
This is really good for newbies. I'm glad I chose right for me when I started but I wish this video was available back then. Thank you for making this Zack
@MyshireFarm something I was thinking about based of the egg weights. Jumbo 280x15g=4200g in a ur Sparklys 335x13g=4355g in a yr Sparklys only produce 155 g more in a year. If you divide that by 15g of the jumbos there really is only a 10 egg difference based off weight. If you can get the jumbo eggs to average 15.6 grams or more per egg than it would be more grams per year than the Sparklys. Just a little thought I had in my head.
Glad I was referred to y’all from Dale’s Quails. 24hrs new to the lifestyle of self sufficiency and looking at raising quail with the family for eggs n meat. Take me to school!
Hey Zach, ordered 110 eggs from y'all and had a 69% hatch rate!!! More than happy with the results considering we had a cold snap during the period the eggs were shipped so I was worried about that maybe hurting fertility, but I'm so happy with the results! Whatever you're doing keep it up bud! God bless! 🙏 Also this was my very first time hatching, so it's more than impressive results for me 💯
Update, 11 hours after I posted that last comment we had even more hatch out, calculated it at an 80% hatch rate which is unbelievable for my first time hatching on shipped eggs, thank you Zach!!!
Thank you for the information! My husband and I bought some property about 30 minutes from where you guys are located. we were thinking about doing chickens but after talking to a local farmer at the market we are interested in learning more about quail. From what I've learned so far I think they may be an even better fit for us than chickens.
Thank you so much for this video, it answers a lot of my questions. My Jumbo Mix eggs went in the incubator yesterday. Anxious to find out what breeds I end up with. I'm not choosy as long as they are jumbo. I’ve had regular quail for a year and still consider myself a newbie.
Thank you for the amazing information! Any idea how quail would fare outside in Phoenix, AZ? Would they need supplemental cooling when it's 115° during the day and only cools down to 95° at night? I wanted to raise rabbits here but it's way too hot unless they're inside with air conditioning... Tia!
Been following your channel for about 2 years. We have had chickens for years now, but with their egg production slowing(they're our pets so we're not looking to cycle them out) we're going to be taking the plunge into quail this year to pick up some of the slack. I hunt and stock GA bobwhites from breeders near us, but this will be my first experience with coturnix.
@@MyshireFarm your website stats Sparkly- 330 eggs per Year, 13.2 grams Pansy - 280 eggs per year. , 10 gram’s Total yearly egg weight in grams is 4256 vs 2800 . Difference of 1456 grams. That’s a big difference in both quantity and size. Unless the website stats wrong? Please let me know if I’m missing something or if I’m wrong. I’m not trying to be difficult just trying to make the best pic for my situation. Thanks 🙏
Merry Christmas Zach to you and your family. I haven't been able to get to live streams due to being too busy. You, Terry from coturnix corner, and Chris from slightly redneck are my go to's for the past 3 yrs. One thing to mention is personality differences in birds. Sounds silly if you're raising them for food, but doesn't mean I can't enjoy them and the interaction. In raising of our coveys the standards are more docile and curious when I go into cages and more tolerant of being handled than our jumbos. Our jumbos were obtained locally from someone who hatched eggs from you, we just got them this yr. They are absolutely beautiful!
Thanks Zach for all of the info. I never established goals or thoughts of what I wanted from my quail. We've hatched two groups of quail and are living the adventure but now it's time to cull the males and hatch again, that means thinking about building a future in the quail. I appreciate you always planting those seeds. Merry Christmas and always the best in the new year.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7LIvRVVuC8I.html Found this video of yours that had all the answers I was looking for! Follow up question, do you find it's worth it to wait another two weeks to harvest? I've read the feed to meat ratio is a lot worse after 6 weeks.
I visited your website but hatching eggs are not available, when will hatching eggs be available again and can hatching eggs be sent to my country, answer please
Excellent information Zack! Thank you. I'm into quail for almost a year now and I still can't vent sex. I'm so glad for the feather sexable types. So far my favorites are Jumbo Wilds and what I think are your Amber Autumns (I had gotten a variety bunch from you and I'm pretty sure there was an Amber Autumn... I LOVE the Amber and Jumbo crosses I'm getting)
Happy Holidays! Can you please show the size difference by putting a jumbo and standard size right next to each other on video so we can better visualize what the size difference looks like in order to help decide between the sizes?
Thank you very much! I'm now really confused. Thought I wanted Jumbo Browns then you mentioned Jumbo Egyptians. I looked them up and they looked like Browns to me, so I typed what's the difference and it came up "Brown Pharoah!!!!" I'll keep on studying! Thanks again.
Hey Zach, not sure if y’all keep Up with this or not but what is the difference in chick size between a jumbo and a standard? Do you have an actual weight difference? I appreciate it!
Thanks for some awesome guidance. I was on your website last night and have decided on the jumbo wild. Big question though, do you ship eggs to Canada 🇨🇦?
