Marcos, it had Rayman legends on it and that game slaps (you should 100% do a video on you all playing rayman legends when you get the chance, epic game)
Marco, borderlands 2 is one of the best games ever. also it is a CRIME terraria is nowhere to be seen on anyone's list. i'm sorry but you are all frauds
Overwatch under good management would've easily won this. Imagine a game of the year shooter with very interesting gameplay, a PvE mode, great casual and competitive systems
So far baldur's gate 3 has reintroduced alot of gamers that there are rare treasures that come out that isint early access or ruined with microtransactions AND or dlc
The one game that i missed is a game called hollow knight. Its such an underrated game with an amazing environment and story. And the best thing is that it has been made by just 3 people. And sure it isnt the biggest game ever, i do want to say its incredible and everyone should play it once! (It can be a bit frustraring at time though)
I would really like to see this done again but with any attempt at objectivity thrown aside. I wanna see the personal top tens for the decade. also since I don't have a peanut for a brain I do know what rayman legends is.
The only problem with these sorts of discussions is that the game's success is highly correlated with the genre's popularity. I could name a bunch of games that were unbelievably successful and revolutionized their genre, but they would still pale in popularity to the mainstream games.
I think they just haven't heard of it, if they had played it they would probably have at least mentioned why it wasn't on their lists (or maybe I just like the game too much, its hard to be unbiased here)
I’ve played Hollow Knight and while I love it and think in quality it is definitely up there but unlike other indie games that blew up in popularity lol undertale or hades I just don’t think it has the sales or impact that would be needed to make an objective top 10 of the 2010’s
Having Rayman Legends on the list unlocked a core memory of me writing a high school paper about Ubisoft.....I still haven't played it, I couldn't even tell you what console it came out on, and I still HATE 2D platformers 😂 I do think Bioshock Infinite, Final Fantasy 15, Fallout 4, and heck, Splatoon 2 deserve honorable mentions. They were all part of a series but ultimately changed the formula to attract new players, similar to how BOTW is so different from any past LoZ game. However, they were only popular to smaller demographics (like Japan loving Splatoon games more than America)
If we're gonna bandwagon massively underrated games like Rayman Legends, we seriously need to talk about NieR: Automata. That game has been out for six years now and still has people being introduced to it (not to mention everyone *knows* who 2B is despite never playing the game).
1. Minecraft, 2. Skyrim, 3. GTA V, 4. No Man's Sky (Present version, fuck the release), 5. Hades, 6. CS:GO, 7. Titanfall 2, 8. Borderlands 2, 9. Undertale, 10. Bloodborne. I feel comfortable only ranking games I've played personally, and these would absolutely be my picks. Even if I would've personally not liked them, their influence cannot be denied. Some could absolutely be rearranged.
This is a fun as fuck video and i usuallt find these kinds of things insufferable from anyone else, if you want to do more more of these, i recommend shows, maybe video game companies, or games from specific eras
I think Monster Hunter World deserves to be put in top ten or a least honourable mention it single handly brought the MH franchise into the mind of western audience
It made MH from niche franchise to something that people consider as great concept. In terms of revolutionary, it's really great. Not to mention different concept of min-maxing
I'm sorry to all these other great games but Minecraft DEFINED a generation of kids, RU-vid content and is STILL is around. Also just saying that I really loved this video, id love to see more like this were y'all just discus and stuff keep it up guys!!
that's an amazing pick. I would never think of including it but it so set a standard for mobile games that other developers still struggle to reach. There is a point to be made for Candy Crush as well but not for the top 10
Being as objective as possible, genshin impact might unironically have a spot on this list. It absolutely raises the standards for what a gacha game can be
The issue with Genshin is that it is...well...a gacha game That genre of games is so incredibly predatory i cant find a world where it deserves a title
I wish I had a cool friendgroup to talk about games like this! The passion towards your picks was awesome to hear. Great video idea, it was fun to listen to everyone's opinions!
Ok so here go all the statements that came to my mind: -FNAF 100% deserves to be on that list. Even if I haven't played it you cant denny that if a game gets like 8 sequels and a ton of books, spin-offs, merch and its own live action remake in the span of a decade, its deserving of that title just by the sheer impact it has had -Rayman legends is a MASSIVELY underrated game, Ive played it to hell and back but I dont think it has had enough of an impact to make It to the top (if It were for me it would, but things arent that easy, im with you marco)
Like I said, in hindsight I did put it too high, now I’d probably put it at 8 or 9 after thinking about it more. And portal is there mainly bc I couldn’t think of anything else in the moment and I like portal but now I’d honestly probably put Mario Kart 8 at 10 now
