What Is The Hardest Halo On Legendary?

Definitely halo 2

Halo 2 Easy = Normal Normal = Heroic Heroic = Legendary Legendary = Insanity (New Difficulty)

Ive only played Halo Reach legendary. Pillar of Autumn made me want to die.

Problem with 4 is they never give you enough ammo regardless of difficulty

Easily Halo 2, but if we're not talking about a broken game, then it's Halo Reach

Doing halo 2 on legendary in under 3 hours for that nameplate was absolutely BRUTAL

just beat reach solo legendary on the pc, the space section of long night of solace was one of the most frustrating missions iv done in a game

Sometimes when you load up gravemind on legendary, you die in a literal instant. Also, when I dropped into the prison block, for some reason the brutes saw me and killed me before I touched the ground

I just finished Reach on legendary solo and that last mission made me wanna jump out the window. I got like 400 gamer score at the end so that was the ONLY reason I completed it...

Honestly the only reasons I think Halo 2 is harder than Halo CE are: 1 Jackal Snipers, I don't need to elaborate here we all know the pain. 2 The Halo CE Pistol is dumb.

For the past 3 days I've been trying to beat Halo 2 on legendary, I'm currently up to High Charity.

i've beaten halo 2 on legendary, but for some reason i don't remember much of it maybe because i've blocked it out completely from my memory also i beat halo 3 on legendary for the first time not even an hour ago :D came here to see what other people think

I'm only just now playing through Reach, but I think it's a lot harder than CE. The ai in CE is pretty exploitable and the plasma pistol destroys most enemies. In Reach it feels a lot harder to land hits with the plasma pistol and the ai is brutal.

Only thing more difficult than Halo 2 solo Legendary: Having the AI drive you in Reach solo Legendary. They drive you straight into 2 Wraiths with a Warthog like you are suppose to do something about that.

From easiest to hardest: Halo 4 Halo 5 Halo 3: ODST Halo 3 Halo Reach Halo CE Halo 2

My list: 1. Halo 3 (played it hundreds of times and speedruned it, so i could do this possibly with "blind eyes" (hehe)) 2. Halo 3 ODST 3. Halo Reach 4. Halo 5 (because of the dumbest A.I. mates ever) 5. Halo 4 6. Halo CE 7. Halo 2 (of course) Side note: I did a speedrun for Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST and 4 and want to beat the LASO campaigns for the achievements.. i've beaten Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST on LASO and got every speedrun achievement. and yes, i'm a masochist!

I've never done a Halo 2 legendary run, but after playing through on Heroic back when the Anniversary version came out I can safely say I have no desire to. Gravemind was an absolute nightmare even on that difficulty. I'm so glad MCC actually hard saves checkpoints, meaning you don't have to select Save and Quit in order to keep your progress. I'll never forget being 3/4 of the way through Gravemind back in Halo 2 classic and the power going out. I lost all my progress on that level and damn near yeeted my xbox out the window

Alright so my plan was to do the entire PC release of MCC legendary solo. It's good to know that I've already done the top two on this list. I only did heroic for Reach because I was going in blind but I will go back for it. Honestly I felt like most of CE was pretty easy. Like most of the games major obstacles took place in Truth and Reconciliation or earlier. After that point you never really get ammo worries. The introduction of the flood actually just made it easier because the shotgun takes any of them down in a single pop,. They are weak to ballistic weapons meaning the assault rifle isn't completely useless anymore, while the Covenant weapons are still of similar effectiveness as before.

The library was for me actually the 2nd easiest level on legendary from CE, I was done in 30 min. But Truth and Reconciliation AND Assault in the control room? FUCK NO. NEVER AGAIN.

I found halo 4 to be quite hard but once you learned to counter certain obstacles such as the teleporting promethians and the fact that every corner essentially had its own little army then I could adjust my gameplay accordingly.

Someone who has played these more then probably anyone, this is my exact list as well for game difficulty

Halo 2 legendary ripped my soul out of my body the first time I did it. Enjoyed it the second time but still died a ton. An argument can be made that every level on Halo 2 is harder than any level on any other Halo game.

I remember trying to beat Halo 3 on legendary with a friend on split screen when i was a kid, it took like an hour to finish the first mission lol

halo 2 legendary on coop is fun af but aggravating if your teammate dies, you get set back a checkpoint

halo 2 or halo 4. halo 4 cause of how quick enemy melee is by default, combine their melee speed with the redonkulous damage muptiplier on legendary, and you have yourself a mission restart... and halo 2....i need not explain...

I love Halo 4’s campaign so much, it’s the most enjoyable out of all of them. It felt so easy to go through on legendary. Hardest still stands for Halo CE and Halo 2.

Reach is always a cakewalk for me because I've been playing the campaign nonstop since 2010, I basically have every fight in every mission memorized and my strategies for each are optimized.

The main thing that pisses me off on halo 2 legendary is.... The fucking Jackal snipers on Outskirts and Metropolis. They spawn bloody everywhere and half the time you never notice where they are, and they just pinpoint accurately one bang you

Fun fact: you can put beating Halo 2 on legendary on your resume, and it will get you a job.

I need to do the same and complete them all on legendary

I can't believe i actually beat 1 AND 2 on legendary back to back once like 15 years ago I don't remember 1 being all that hard tbh but i definitely remember how hard 2 was

I remember beating Delta Halo for the first time on Legendary. I fucked up and ended up ammoless in the room with the four honor guards. My choices were: A) Go back out to get ammo then get immediately killed by sniper jackals B) Challenge the first sword elite to a fist fight, then kill the other 3 with his sword C) Quit I ended up going with B), and somehow I made it work.

I just went through Halo 2 and now playing Halo 1 again and I’m crying. It feels harder than Halo 2, at least H2 has plenty of weapons but in H1 there is not many options and the elites have janky animations making them sooo hard to fight. Reach is extremely punishing too but I haven’t played that in a long time.

Halo 1 and 2 are my absolutely favorite campaigns... probably because my brother got me addicted to halo when it first came out in 2001 lmao... so of course it’s always going to hold a special place in my heart 😂... but I couldn’t agree more with them being the hardest 2 campaigns for sure lol. Bungie admitted the problems they had with adjusting the difficulty in Halo 2, and they fixed it with Halo 3.

8:46 I mean, just use the Plasma Pistol + DMR combo to 2-shot the elites. Jackals and Grunts were mostly my problem with my recent legendary run for Reach, as they like to spam their guns a ton.

Halo 2 feels like Halo 1 with 1 bar of health and no over shield.

Gravemind isn’t bad if you hide in the beginning on the second level and get the carbine between waves. Then you can just take your time and snipe enemies. Several spots you can avoid enemies too. For The Library, just trigger the spawns and walk backwards. You can always outrun flood enemies and they mostly only use melee, so take them out at a distance with the pistol. You can run past them when they distracted fighting sentinels.

So many people hate the Library, but it's one of my favorite missions on Halo CE.

I always am like “Halo Reach has the hardest campaign” But then I remember I always play with no less than three skulls on (mythic, tilt, thunderstorm) Playing LASO, Halo Reach is the hardest campaign comparatively to any other with difficulty boosters in my opinion

Halo 1 will forever be the hardest for me because of the 1 run I had with Keyes I will never wanna play that mission on Legendary ever again Halo 2 was the easiest cause tbh you can predict the Jackal Sniper spawns and you can actually skip every jackal Sniper section in the game Halo 3 is also a easy 1 when I'm playing solo Co-op teammates keep dying :( Halo 3 ODST was also easy almost as Halo 2 Halo 4 Promethans stangled me Halo Reach is the 4th hardest for me only a couple missions that are pretty tough Halo 5 So many Spongebob's for fuck sake BUCK REVIVE YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!!

Halo 4 was the only Halo that I beat on Legendary Solo. It was the hardest shit ever but I was so damn desperate for the Mark VI armor in Multiplayer. I was so happy and proud of myself when I finally killed the Didact. This was way back in like 2014 though.

Just started this challenge myself for the exact same reason as you. I've been a long time fan, but never solo legendaried any of them. Just beat Halo 3 on legendary last night, now I'm gonna bump the first two to the top of my list just to get them over with.

For some reason the hardest part for me in legendary halo 3 was this random section in tsavo highway

I did the legendary campaigns for the first time during the same kind of time last year and I dont agree with any placement here, except perhaps ODST as the easiest (though it is tied with 4 in my view). Point of fact- you mention elites taking loads of shots to kill on Reach. Is it not 2? Plasma overcharge plus headshot? :P I do agree CE is much harder than most people say it is...I actually place it above 2. But there we go! Keep it up mate

I know people don’t really consider it with these list but my god halo wars legendary is frustrating, the game throws fully upgraded hunters at you like crazy, and they do it on missons that they know you do not have access to hornets, even flamethrower units who are exposed to be anti-infantry units need a 3-1 advantage to take out hunters

First mission on Halo 2 when you have to fight the crap ton of grunts and elites and they all 1-2 tap you 💀💀💀

Clicked on this video just to see if Gravemind (mission) would have a special call out. You did not disappoint. Gravemind starts off cheap and some of those large sandbox rooms with camouflaged covenant are disgusting. Such a pat on the back beating this level with minimal deaths on Legendary.

tbh the best parts of halo 4 are when you fight the covenant but as soon as the prometeans appear it becomes a drag

Fun fact: Bungie rushed Halo 2 to meet the release deadline so they didn't have time to balance the game difficulty modifier. They eventually fixed this for Halo 3.
