So today I figured i'd break down mileage counts on the 335i platform and where I think the ideal mileage is on these cars! I hope you guys enjoyed, please make sure to leave a like as well as subscribe for more awesome content! Much love!

I'd agree with Omar, Mileage is not the real issue, its maintenance and if common problems have been dealt with. The block itself is pretty strong, if I recall correctly the Crank and Rods are Forged.
@SimplyCarThings
@SimplyCarThings 4 года назад
Exactly! Only reason I'd go for a low mileage example would be for the cosmetic/physical condition of the car which is most likely a lot better than a higher mileage one

I bought my ‘09 E90 335i Xdrive at the beginning of this year in January with 61K, since then I’ve put about 7k on it so it’s around 68,200 rn only problem I’ve had so far is a Valve cover and gasket job because of it was leaking, but apart from that she’s been a solid, dependable car. Starts right up everytime. Planning to do all my fluid changes very soon as it’s about time for Differential and transmission fluid flushes. It is recommended you do these jobs around the 65K- 70k mile mark to keep the car running healthy as well as those regular oil changes. Bought the car with the water pump replaced too so I’m really relieved about that. In conclusion I love this car and it’s amazing to drive. Just treat it with respect and it’ll take care of you👍🏼

I got my 2009 335i 2 years ago with around 65k miles from a friend. The car has never left me stranded, even on Index 6 injectors, but I’ve replaced most of what can fail as preventative maintenance. This can be difficult if you don’t have access to another car. I’m FBO now, going to start upgrading fueling soon. All I have to do now for maintenance is HPFP and oil pan gasket. Owning this car can be frustrating, but extremely rewarding!

I don't think there is an ideal mileage to buy a 335i, and just going for the lowest mileage you can find is NOT always the better situation. It depends on the car, what shape it's in and what's been done to it. For example, I bought mine with 110K on it, but at 95K Motiv totally rebuilt the entire engine, and replaced or upgraded all the normal problem parts around it, such as water pump, therm, PCV and the like. Also, the car came with upgraded turbo's, upgraded 3" inlets/outlets, catless dp's, Mperformance exhaust, VRSF 7.5" FMIC, aluminum chargepipe, Forge aluminum diverter valves, index 12 fuel injectors, 2 step colder NGK's, relocated Dual Cone Intakes, BMS cowl delete filters and dual oil catch cans, a SPEC stage 3+ clutch with SMFW, M3 suspension all around, KW v3 coilovers, 3.5 BAR TMAP sensor, Walbro 450 LPFP, and several other upgrades. So while most people prefer to buy a used car with only 50-60k on it, they would be getting a lot less than what I got, and probably pay a lot more for it. It all depends on the situation. I've had my car now for a while, and it runs perfectly well without any problems that many others continually speak about. It pays to do your research.

To me low or high milliage ( 40 k - 100 k miles , for the n54 it's already 10 - 15 year old car. You would still have to do most of maintenance since parts either way since components/ parts degraded over time driven or parked. Evevry Maintence is based on milliage driven / year and age which ever comes 1st. There fore 335i with 75 - 100 k miles is probbaky the best buy, your not over paying for low mileage premiums, and already have most of the major maintence, if not all serviced. Last , the diy community for bmw is huge, if your willing to watch videos and wrench things ur self, you saved alot of money. I’d rather have a low mileage car. Parts will fail at higher mileage too. In fact other parts are more likely to fail along side the common ones. With less miles you have a car with little to no wear and tear. Look at my 135i. 54k miles not one thing wrong with it. Maintenance has all been done recently by dealership. I’m still going to do it anyway for peace of mind.

@erickromero010
@erickromero010 4 года назад
Always have an extra water pump and bolts, high pressure fuel pump with bolts, save for an extra pair of turbos immediately(stock or upgraded) Get a diagnostic tool. Extra spark plugs/coils, extra fuel pump regulator, extra pulley and 2 serpentine belts, always have extra coolant, oil, oil filter and power steering fuild. Extra engine gaskets and bolts (valve cover, oil pan) Extra oil filter housing gasket and bolts. They all tend to go whenever. Invest in tools to work on the car yourself. It saves money and time if you have that and knowledge. Read everything in the forums Dual cone intake and a 7in hd fmic with downpipes is all you need for power mods. Until you’re ready for upgraded turbos or e85 fuel For Appearance, ride height is also performance, m3 style front fenders With trunk lip
@ericdesantiago125

erick r Thanks for the advice. What kind of diagnostic tool do you recommend? If I save for an extra pair of turbos, should I just upgrade those? I plan on getting dual intake cones eventually, and I'll start researching a 7in hd fmic with downpipes. What does the e85 do for my car? Why is that considered an upgrade? What do you mean by ride height is also performance? Are you saying I should lower it or lift it? I'm looking for a trunk lip and front fenders. What about a different hood?
