I feel better now. I have AF15 SS 3.0 WP signed very well with great placement. That book is worth something, enough to make me get a safe deposit box at my bank
There's a Crow #1 CGC 9.8 on ebay that got the Blue Label and on the inside cover James O'Barr has signed it and added some comment. I would have guessed it would have a Green Label with "Name written on the inside cover". Why did it get a Blue Label? The owner was lucky?
thanks for the clarification since I am also still learning about comics I got a venom lethal protector #2 signed by sam de la rosa but there was no CGC member present at the convention, so its good to be aware, may not be the most valued in terms of price but its a nice achievement to get that green label eventually
Don't send it to CGC. Send it to cbcs and they will verify it and i'm confident that it would sell for more than a green label cgc. Plus better turn around time.
A now-famous comic author enjoyed (or still enjoys, I haven't gone to LCS in a few years) -- he frequently visited my town and a local comic shop and signed everything they put in front of him. They have a home-made mural on the ceiling and he even autographed that. Since I like his work, especially his now older work (for example, _Battle Pope)_ I'd buy signed ones just... because. They aren't verified or qualified or anything else, though I imagine the shop's crew took (still take) a lot of pictures of RK in action. Perhaps these signed issues and the story might be of interest to collectors 😃😊
I like the idea of signed books but I don't have a slabbed book that has been signed. I do have books with signatures and still, I don't think I will submit them with one exception. I have two copies of my 1995 Marvel annual stock report. I went to the annual meeting for stock holders and Stan Lee was there. I spoke with him for a couple of minutes and he signed both of my stock reports which are in the form of a comic book. I also have Todd McFarlane's signature that I got when he debuted his toy line in 1994 at FAO Schwartz in NYC. He signed #1 and #4 but he only dated #4. I also have a signature and remark of Prophet #1 by Dan Panosian and Batman #404 and #405 signed to me by Dave Mazuchelli. Lastly, I have ASM #50 signed by John Romita Sr and the bottom of the splash page. Since it's on the page and not the cover, I know I would get a universal blue label. At some point I will be sending that in to CGC. Dave. I'd like you opinion on that book for condition (I think it's a solid 5.5/6.0), if you would be so kind. I'd like to send some pics to you for your review. Please let me know if you would be willing. Thanks as always for posting Dave. Best to all.
I personally like signed books whenever possible I saw a 1st appearance of poison Ivy signed by Adam west 5.5 I believe but Adam personalized it and the ebay seller wanted top dollar….I was more interested in the Book I was lucky enough to Meet Adam myself and I have an autograph from him Got the main trio of the cast cause Craig passed away before she was able to attend the show 😔 with Adam Burt and Julie But what are your thoughts on a celebrity signing a Key comic and does the personalization knock some value off the book?
I submitted 3 separate books on 3 separate occasions that were 9.8s and came back with lower grades after the signatures. Its a big risk cracking a 9.8 Blue Label to get a signature. On 2 occasions the book was worth more as a 9.8 Blue Label than a Yellow Label 9.4/9.2 that they came back as. Total waste of money. Never again! I get books signed all the time for my PC at shows of creators that i love and respect and I dont need CGC to tell me that a Chris Claremont or Jim Starenko signature is legit
It's pretty simple really. If the signatory is dead, then it is worth more money. He ain't signing any more. Buy it if it signed by Will Eisner, run away if it is signed by Donny Cates.
If you send in a book from an artists store that has a COA and is sealed with a sticker would cgc still give that a green label? I have seen conflicting opinions of this online. Thanks.
Stan Lee signed everything & anything. But those new buyers overpaying for every book don’t understand that & will put a premium on his scratching. And Stan did his best on lots of books to have a terrible placement as he got older. Tho he is no longer signing anything.
How do the multiple signatures work? Do you walk away with the book and they make a note or do they keep it? I'm super confused and didn't even know this was possible. I could have had some killer books.
Send in your SS book or bring to a con and they’ll give you a CGC cert to go to the other signing, if it’s at the same con for example. Some will take the book around for you.
Wasn't I the subscriber that asked you? You didn't think $5K was a good price for a Hulk #181 3.0 (aound $3K unsigned) but it's signed by Stan Lee, Roy Thoms, and John Romita. Do you wish to revise your opinion on that?😜
Signed by all 3! That’s cool. I don’t know though. I still think it’s a bit steep. Because the asm 1 signed by Stan lee went up 20%. They are asking for nearly 80%. I think if you did buy it. You will be paying at the top of the market.
What up I like your video and I realy want to know about a good investment on the venom leathal protector gold book. Please let me know. Push on the picture of me and my baby girl thank u.
Dave,i just got 4 copies of Batman the Killing Joke first print nm copies for $150 so do you think that was a good buy? I really only wanted one copy but i think i got a steal.
