The ice melts faster on a steel plate than a paper plate as steel is a good conductor and conducts heat much faster and therefore the ice cube can now absorb the heat from the steel plate and melt with the help of latent heat of fusion whereas in a paper plate the conduction is slower and therefore results in delayed fusion.
Metal is a better conductor than paper so energy is transferred more quickly through the metal. This is why we saw the ice on the metal block melt more quickly.😊😊😊😊😊😊
+ point- ice cream takes more time to melt if it is on a paper plate cuz lesser heat compared to steel plate reaches the ice cream...and ya ice on steel plate will melt faster!
The ice cube on the steel plate would melt faster and way earlier before the ice cube in paper plate as the air in the atmosphere gets evenly heated up by convection and later as the steel plate would also react with ice and become cold then as heat from the surroundings get conducted into steel plate and as steel is a good conductor of heat more amount of heat energy would move into the ice cube making it reach temperatures at higher levels to melt
Ice will melt on silver plate faster than the paper plate , as silver is a good conducter of heat , whereas paper is a bad conductor of heat and therefore take more time to absorb the coldness
