Great video, thanks for sharing. I'm familiar with Tamiya tanks but not with trucks so I enjoyed this insightful video

Glad it was helpful! they must have something similar for tanks. Sadly, I don't get to play with the trucks as much as I would like

Thanks, new to RC modelling and the truck is my next build, the mfc does look worthwhile but they are pricey. Trailer to add on the list as well so £900😮

They are not cheap to build but then again compared to something like a model railway, overall it works out quite cheap in my view. The extras are where the costs start mounting up with things like a driver for it. I would strongly recommend adding the MFC during the build rather than as an "after thought". Also, if the truck is for home use then it does add realism. In an arena though, with loads of other sound fitted vehicles you won't hear yours, they all just blend in to one big noise:)

£269 is the cheapest I've found so having watched your video it's my next purchase, would you have a recommendation for an amateurs transmitter and receiver 🤔 And a Happy New Year. @@StBlazeyModelWorld

Not a bad price mate, lot less than I paid. As for radio gear I have a Carson which has not been great if I'm honest. I did a video about my dead Tamiya and found the Carson was the issue. I would not recommend stuff unless Ive tried it. Hope you understand. Happy New Year to you mate

Many many thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. I do not make so many R/C related vids as I would like to but lots more on my channel to view about model making

That's a very cool model and some brilliant extra functions. Definitely cost a few pretty pennies.

Yes indeed although here in the UK those prices are the what you would spend on a decent Heljian 00 DCC loco. My life and channel would be a lot easier if I just liked one particular aspect of model making lol.

Nice video. I just starting out on a build of the Mercedes actros 3363. Can I run it remotely without the MFC. Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve, thanks for viewing and asking a question. Yes you can is the short answer. In a basic Tamiya kit you get all light lenses for the truck plus gearbox and motor. . I have not built one for some time but I think you even get a basic transponder for the RC unit - don't quote me on that. Many people operate these models with no MFC unit all. It does mean that you have no sound or lights etc but in an arena with 50 or so of them running the sound gets lost in the background anyway. I also know of at least two that have been built with no cab interior. Instead, the respective builders simply blacked out the cab by spraying the in the inside of the cab glass. Hope this helps

@@StBlazeyModelWorld coulnt you still have lights without the mfc? just no control over them. plug them into receiver like other rc cars and the lights should work i dont see why not

@@ronniedoe3365 You may well be right there my friend. I had not really considered that option because I wanted the indicators to work in direction of travel etc but a good point Sir :)
