I like your logical based approach, which you back up with the evidence to support your hypothesizes. By presenting the influences of the factors involved in the complete system, you increase the efficiency, while lowering the maintenance involved in keeping a system running. Keep the videos coming! Live long and prosper.

Good day, after watching your video about Aeroponics, I really get a much clearer picture. The previous video that I watched talks about how expensive it can be doing Aeroponics. Thank you so much.

I disagree with rule number 1. A small rockwool cube and clay balls will not impead on a plant intaking nutrients on a high pressure areoponic system .

Good video. At 6:25 what is the white square material you started the seed in? Thanks. 👍
@tsilb
@tsilb 4 года назад
That would be a medium, which you aren't supposed to use. I suppose the seed is supposed to hang magically in mid-air until its roots grow.
@alexsiniov
@alexsiniov 3 года назад
@@tsilb Just a sponge to hold the seed till it develops roots. Roots are hanging in the air, so 2cm sponge hardly is a medium, just holding the neck of the plant

I think the best system would be using aeroponic misters AND fogponic misters. That way you can have the perfect size water droplets for each stage of the plant. Fogponic misters alone do not reach over 30 microns to have good effect in the later stages of a larger plants life.
@HighTechGardener
@HighTechGardener 3 месяца назад
I would need to verify that.

@tomyoung8523 5 лет назад
Could you do a video specifically on media. In my experience you need SOME media to support the literal plant. Even if that's polystyrene rings and a netcup or rockwool. The roots are still exposed to the mist, but the plant itself is also supported. I don't see how blindly following some arbitrary set of rules about 'true' aeroponics is praxis for building the best possible biosystem.
@jeffreynoulez6765
@jeffreynoulez6765 5 лет назад
Look up Donald Porta he has pretty good videos about his aquaponic system. He ended up using no media for inside the pvc pipe, but did use probably 1 inch rings cut from pool noodles to hold the plants in the towers.
@Aerogrow
@Aerogrow 4 года назад
basically, using hydrotron , root plug or neorprene insert for larger plants. Smaller plants like lettuce and herbs, micro greens, sure, no media. Growing marjuana for instance without something will cause some interesting problems 4 weeks in. My plants kept falling over and had to do alot of heavy netting. Second grow; using hydroton and large netti pots; much more stable. Think the rule needs to be adjusted to the media should never cover root zone or retain water.

I'm having difficulty with the waist part of the system and the replenishing of nutrients. Are the nutrients recirculated when they drop back into the bucket? How much and how often do we add? Also when designing a system, what is the optimum number and placement of nozzles inside the grow room? Should they be placed on all four sides and how do we know the timing of the mist? Thank You for a wonderful series.

Hey! I'm interested in designing an aeroponics system. Is there a group online somewhere where you meet? I have a computer science degree, and I am currently working as a software engineer for a data storage company. I am excited to automate the hell out of this.
@HighTechGardener
@HighTechGardener 4 года назад
Yes, we want to automate. However, caution is needed. It’s easy to over complicate the design. The more complicated the design, the more chance of failure. For example, the Boeing 737. The technology used must be proven, reliable, and simple to use. This will be a future video. If I want true aeroponics in your future, IT CAN NOT FAIL. By the way, thanks for the kind words.
@JustMe-lp5td
@JustMe-lp5td 4 года назад
@@HighTechGardener I completely agree about keeping things simple. - less points of failure, less redundancy needed, simpler code is also more maintainable, etc. Many benefits from avoiding over-complication! My job is primarily managing failure in a datacenters. We strive for 100% uptime. I have done a little bit of IOT design, but there is much to still learn! I am learning so much from your videos about designing the mechanical portions (which my knowledge is quite limited). Thanks man! I'll probably be hanging around your videos for a while!
@Aerogrow
@Aerogrow 4 года назад
@@JustMe-lp5td I've been pondering the same, there are 5-6 things needed for a grow room. 1. cycle time outlet control 2. light time outlet control 3. tempature control and monitoring 4. Humidty control and monitoring 5. ppm of nutrient solution 6. PH control and level From there you could expand out to the addvaned items like co2 levels, water temps, water levels, alarms, VPD tables, etc...

You can take a eyeball on my channel/vids and grow diary; have done about 10 grows using HPA or high pressure aero. Ak47 and green crack namely, currently doing clone grows from last green crack harvest. Playing with ultrasonic misters for even smaller micron level of droplet for next expirement and will eventaully do a bake-off. The existing setup uses 3 nozzles at 50 micron per plant running at 100 PSI.

We built the Space Station high pressure aeroponic system and that's the readily available information. What nobody want's you to know is using that information works in space. The system we built for the earth as the variable is the information you need to build True HPA systems. You clearly explain the theory's behind the operation of a high pressure aeroponic system, yet those theory's come from information easily found on the internet. Why did you stop the video's?

OK. Root chamber needs to be between 65 to 75. What about outside temperature? Is there a range it has to be. I would like to know what happens if outside temperature drops bellow 50 while the root chamber is maintained 70.
@HighTechGardener
@HighTechGardener 4 года назад
Control the environment to what the plant wants. An insulated chamber makes this possible. So the answer is it all depends on what you are growing.
