@@therapywithdrprabhjot there is inappropriate laughing and crying behaviour. Also the child cries excessively in new situations, in the presence of strangers and clingy on the mother

I assume the child does not have age-appropriate speech. Making your child social on his own terms is most important which can be started by taking him regularly to parks or playground where he has an opportunity to observe others from a distance. Secondly, get your child used to looking at, smiling and shaking hands with you to regular visitors of the house like maids, neighbours etc. Thirdly, the laughing or crying usually means that either the child has a playful idea in mind and cannot execute it OR laughs at colourful objects or items in the house that he finds interesting. Try engaging in play when you feel your child is laughing or providing him toys to distract him from laughing.

Good morning, Ma'am. Why does my son suddenly lost his skills like singing, counting numbers and identifying colours when he turned 4 yrs old. He can also call my name and his moms back then when he was ages 1-3. The only skill I could say he has at the moment is that he is very good at puzzles. He can also make an eye contact when calling his first name and can follow instructions. He is now undergoing a therapy for behaviour. Could it be an autism?

Hello It is better to rule out other organic causes before it is called autism. This requires a detailed history and how he regressed in his skills.

My 2 year old baby is not talking much he's so shy. He imitate me like if I say teeth he only once said immediately teeth but suddenly stopped and thought about something and after that never repeated that word again. This happens always he knows how to speak words but he's not willing to talk at all. His father whispers in his ear "Johnny johnny" and he responds by whispering "papa papa" he says open your mouth and he again responds ha ha ha. But when I ask him to say mama he says papa I ask him to say papa he says mama and gets overwhelmed by my love and hugs and runs away and hides himself in under the shelves or behind the curtain or sometimes in my lap and don't make eye contact until we change the topic. All sounds super cute until it becomes his routine and he doesn't speak a word in a day. He has good vocabulary in his mind as I often say one he immediately says 2 and again stops talking after realising that he SPOKE 😮. I'm so much worried why he doesn't talk all day with anyone as at the age of 2 he is supposed to at least speak a little bit. Am I overthinking or is it something to do about.

Hello It is usually recommended to not force your child to speak. If he is playing and trying to socialise, please give him time to initiate speech independently.

A 1.5-year-old child laughs loudly without any reason for 1 to 2 minutes daily. Even if we call his name at that time he doesn't respond until he stops laughing. Is that also a sign of autism?
@therapywithdrprabhjot
@therapywithdrprabhjot Год назад
Hello I would not call it a sign of autism as children at this age respond to lights, sounds, expressions by laughing loudly. If your child is giving eye contact, responding to name and basic commands, has play skills accprsing to age then there appears to be no problem.

@deepikakalra8820 if she does not express her emotions verballybyet then it is likely that she laughts when excited. Please try to manage her screen time for cartoons and try to teach her identification of family members by hugging the person whose picture she views.

@@therapywithdrprabhjot it's about unnecessary laughing, showing a smile 🙂 or smirt 😏 he usually does that when : * he thinks about another thing while we are talking * he passes by pedestrian * he looks at himself in the mirror or selfie-camera

I would not call it a disorder right away. These are social cues which some people fail to recognise and behave strangely. It is called Social Disinhibition. A psychologist may help here.
