holy SMokes,, im 41 and always had head faced all the way to the left, preschool teachers would get me from my seat and take me to the middle of the group right in front of the projector . They never told me why, but they talked to my Mom and then I went to eye dr. , hearing specialist to see why. One dr said it was my muscles that is weak on one side, but that was it, all my life I would read in bed and close my left eye..Never realized how much it affected me as I had headaches in grade schoo, and now that Im 41, I have lived with Migraines, Vertigo often and just dizzy and moving stuff . But I am sooo happy at least I know and can go see someone. I was watching a podcast about ADHD as I defienetly have that but now at least I konw what the heck it is. I just went with it since they said it will get better well it didnt and cant wait to go and see a dr about it. I am going to send them a video of it in case they dont know and hopeflly they will educate themselves to help me~

Traditional vision therapy. @visiontherapy Can you expand on predictors for response to traditional vision therapy in vertical heterophoria cases due to nerve damage (ie CVA)? You mentioned it will be more difficult in these cases. How long should trial therapy be? Like if there is a response, how soon would patient notice it? Or is there a plateau effect/diminishing return? Therapy is an expensive commitment 😅
Hi Laura it’s all dependent on the specific case. However we do see these cases all the time and with positive outcomes. Yes therapy is requires not only a financial investment but a personal commitment to follow through because while the results sometimes seem like magic 🪄 it requires commitment. I am a lay person took the syntonic course I am a member of the college, i did have syntonic therapy years ago, i have had a car accident, tripped on a film set angled and split my eyebrow and tripped again hit my head and my eyes are playing games, I would like to get the different filters so i can start repairing the damage. Hello Dr. I've had BVD problems for 5 years. I have done vision therapy since 2021 and it has made much h difference to my symptoms. I got a second opinion that is year and found I have a vertical misalignment in both eyes. 😮 I've read online that vision therapy wouldn't work for vertical misalignments and I've been put on prisms. Is this true? What your personal opinion.

@@areyousure996 ok so I did vision therapy when I was diagnosed with BVD. This only helped very little. I got frustrated after 3 years so I got another opinion and got diagnosed with VH. I asked to be put on prisms as nothing was helping. Ive been on my current 1st prescription since march. My eyes don't pull as much but I'm still getting all the horrible symptoms, head pain, migraines, very tired eyes, light sensitivity, extremely high anxiety. I've been told to try vision therapy again with prisms as so far not much has changed at all. 5 1/2 years I've had this now. It's crippled my life.

Thanks for this video! My question is if you have a small vertical misalignment of say 0.5D, does it matter which eye is aligned with prism? For example, if your left eye is 0.5D higher, is it ok to either lower the left eye with 0.5D base down OR raise the right eye 0.5D base up?
We actually don’t recommend prism at all in this case as it will cause further breakdown and larger amounts needed to correct the misalignment in the future. Instead we recommend vision therapy with Syntonics to teach the brain to align the eyes.

I hope you still read my comment and questions as this video was published a while ago. I find this video informative and encouraging even though I heard from some eye doctors that either vision therapy does not work, or it does not work for vertical misalignment as effective as horizontal misalignment. Is it true? I've recently been diagnosed to have a "slight L hyperthoria" for distance. Does that mean ONLY when I see distant objects? Will vision therapy work as well in my case?
