I think overrated means people speak highly of it but you find it meh which usually equates to indifference or dislike. For example, the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once. It won so many Oscars but lots of people including a bunch of Japanese people find it meh. My brother even said to me after watching it on Netflix recently that it was 🗑.

Underrated means you think it's so good but it doesn't get as much recognition as it deserves. For me for example I think Takahashi Rumiko's Urusei Yatsura is her best work but it's not as well-known as Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2. Probably because it doesn't involve fighting like shounen manga. But to me the characters and gags are so creative and memorable.

Thank you for your interviews! I personally love Gintama and i think its overlooked by a lot of people. So if you like comedy give this show a try. Its considered the best in its genre. As the show goes on the jokes and overall comedy gets better and better as well as action and main story progresses.

An underrated anime that I wish was licensed in the US is Major. For some reason the sequel series is (Major 2nd), but the original series and OVA aren't. There's lots of baseball anime out there, but Major is by far the best. I love how it focuses on a single character's journey from Little League all the way up to achieving his dream of becoming a player in the Major Leagues. I also like that the main character isn't always successful and has realistic setbacks such as injuries, and eligibility when he gets to the high school level of baseball.

Amazing editing in this episode! Cool to see such a broad range of opinions. I'm not 100% sure I got the meaning of overrated, but I'll assume it's: "popular, but (IMHO) not that good". Then it'll be "Solo Leveling", as it didn't do it for me and at some moments I thought that it's in the worst spot of cringey and boring at the same time. underrated from my perspective as someone who doesn't watch that much anime: Bartender - Glass of God (a lovely slice of life about a passionate bartender and his ability to read people's emotions and make the perfect drink for them), and just because of how weird it is and the ominous, oppressive atmosphere it builds like nothing else: Serial Experiments Lain. The guy in the blue hoodie in the middle of the video nails my problems with anime. A lot of the time I'll read a manga and the pacing is fantastic, then the anime is really poorly paced. I mostly read everything now and very rarely watch anything anymore. Like JJK I was not a fan of until I started reading it, then I got past the slow part in the beginning and the series goes CRAZY and the manga slaps so hard

Same thing with the first girl of Playing DS as Overrated for the reason that it was simplified enough to appeal to a wide demographics. Then proceeds to paint Fairy Tail as underrated, which in my opinion also falls on the more simple side of story telling as power of friendship won't work as well if the story is actually complex

overrated means something that is considered better than it actually is. particularly, I think the terms ‘overrated/underrated’ are meant to design a critical sense over something, since to determine whether something is objectively worse than it is considered to be, you must analyze critically instead of relying on personal opinions. people on this video are basically sharing their opinions over popular and less popular anime.

If you read the manga it's not every day we see main cast or main character die while continuing the story with the children, grand children etc. The first serie without stand users was very well written.
