What It's Like Driving The Chevy Camaro Z28!!

👋 This Camaro Z28 is a raw muscle car! Packing a 7.0 Liter engine from the Z06 Corvette into a Camaro was a great idea! The manual transmission and carbon ceramic brakes give the Z28 even more of a performance feel. The Chevrolet Camaro Z28 was only built a year or two and was designed to be a stripped down track focused car. You can tell the Z28 is all about the connection with the road and really feels old school. The massive tires are pretty much all you have to save you if you get out of hand! Such a blast to drive the Z28! This muscle car gives you a sense that the normal SS Camaro can't match! Overall I think the Chevrolet Camaro is a nice car with a lot to offer. It was comfortable, roomy, powerful and looks great! The interior of the Z28 Camaro was well laid out with minimal buttons with a clean look and feel. Recaro bucket seats add a great touch of performance. Test driving the manual Z28 Camaro, the car drove great and has plenty of power. The Z28 V8 Camaro had an amazing exhaust sound too! Sounded great going through the gears. The 6 speed manual is the perfect transmission for the Z28 Camaro. 🏎

Best kept secret in the Camaro world. These cars were overlooked by so many when they were new because the ZL1 made more power for less money. But after owning a few gen 5 ZL1s, I currently own Z/28s. Best camaro they ever made IMO.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Way different. Learn something about what makes the Z/28 so special. It's way far above and beyond the 1LE SS. These cars had tech built in that Corvette wasn't using until a few years later. F1 tech.

As you already know, I'm not usually a Camaro person but this Z28 is not bad! Got some pretty good sounds for a vehicle almost 8 years old with only 47 K.

I’m confused with what you mean by “pretty good sounds for a vehicle almost 8 years old” .. in my personal opinion most “older” V8s have a far more superior sound. The LS7 is an absolute beast and top 2 for best sounding LS motors no doubt.

I love how my 2015 camaro handles too. Loves making turns and straight away. Like to get a newer one. Before they disappear.. and I also own a 1980 Z-28. Fun ride back in the day. Took out the 350 and added 454 into the engine bay. That's when you worked on your own car from day one. Not like bunch of aftermarket add ons..

Very true! I'm used to my 700 HP Nissan GTR lol. So not much is actually fast for me. But this car is all about that old school mechanical feeling. Very cool car to drive!

The sale prices of these LS7 Camaro are still very high (around 70K here in Orlando, FL). They actually cost more than a C6 Z06 Corvette which has the same motor. What a sexy car, love it!

Tour mode/Sport Mode doesn’t do anything for suspension. It’s only to toggle through PTM. Z/28 has MultiMatics, not mag ride.

You mentioned that you've drove a few ZL1's. How's the comfort riding level comparison? Does the Z28 feel more racier than the ZL1?

Very much so! The ZL1 is just like a normal SS, but has the supercharged engine. THis car feels stripped out and bare bones. THis is not the car for the person who wants luxury. Feels like an old school racer muscle car. Very unique!

lol I'm sure it eats gas when your on it! But I know the Corvette with the same engine can still get like 30 mpg. So it's very efficient for being a huge engine

No that was the first year Camaro. The Z28 came out later. I think in the movie they used the Camaro Concept car

Yes it has tour and sport. I didn't really notice a difference between the two modes tho. Might just be suspension that changes.

Personally I’d go ZL1. I don’t need the crazy track handling and braking of this. And I’d rather have a supercharger stock. More tuner friendly for my taste

I am going to be different and pick this Z28 over a ZL1. Something about an all motor, large displacement V8 with a manual makes my head go vroom vroom. Plus, you don't even need forced induction on this Z28 to make big power, just a larger intake, improved exhaust system, heads, bigger cam, and 93 octane Dyno tune to have a beast to be reckoned with by many at the track.
